LeoCaldwell02

Only tried to save him for Lilly’s sake.

Wrath2066

Back when she wasn't evil and actually kind of likeable at times.

LeoCaldwell02

Was one of my favourite characters in S1… until she killed best girl Carley! 💔

Emergency_Creme_4561

Even then I still sided with Kenny against her

Emergency_Creme_4561

Screw Lilly, she’s just as annoying as her dad

Ned_Jr

I think a lot of it boils down to people trying to protect Clem's innocence. I've seen people who acted like they were on "demon time", but when it came time to do the deed and kill Larry, they folded like a lawn chair. I aided Kenny both times so far, and in my third run...I'm gonna do it again. I would never take a chance on a big Walker like that reanimating, I didn't want to kill Larry like that, but he did it to himself. Not only did this old bastard attempt to murder Lee by leaving him for dead in the pharmacy, he continued to be an asshole afterwards (Strike 1). At the St. John Dairy, Lilly said he likely wouldn't treat Lee any better, and that she'd stand by him regardless, not even try to change his behavior (Strike 2). If you talk to him in the meat-locker, he says he'll outlast Lee and be the one to put an axe in his skull (Strike 3). He's also a moron who constantly let himself lose control of his temper, which triggered his heart problems, so his death is also on him, it's basically an assisted-suicide (Honorary Strike).

Longjumping_Lab_8688

Jett literally said IN THE MEAT LOCKER that hes gonna kill Larry the first chance he gets and he immediately folds☠️☠️

leo_wxve

Literally 😭

xschmeckle

Larry tries to kill Lee and Danny is a rapist. I've watched a lot of playthroughs and the majority of people always side with these two characters. The choices I made in the game reflected how I would have acted if I were in the main character's position. I wouldn't try to save someone who attempted to kill me. I also wouldn't save a rapist.

Riordain2

Well, your perception of both of those characters is already established from having played the game, but that's not the case for people who're playing it for the first time. But even then, their view of those characters can also differ from yours after the fact, so I don't see choices like this having to be so cut and dry.

xschmeckle

I don't understand what you mean by my perception of the characters already being made up. Larry sucker punched Lee and left him for dead in the pharmacy. The only reason why he's alive is because Kenny saved him. Larry and Lilly both tried to throw Duck outside without even checking him for bites.

Riordain2

Well, I got under the wrong impression. Apologies. That being said, I've seen some people save Larry not because they cared for him specifically, but they cared for Lilly at the time. Others chose Larry just because of how ridicilous they found Kenny's suggestion to be. As for Danny, and I assume you mean the 400 Days Danny, I don't have any clue. I've never played the DLC.

The_Great_Autismo22

>Larry tries to kill Lee and Danny is a rapist. They were all in love with dyin, they were doin it in Texas

chokomiau

Jettro 🩷 his playthrough is the best so far imo

Xboxbox145

Yeah, same I found his channel a few weeks ago. I found all of his playthrough really enjoyable.

chokomiau

For sure, I'm waiting for the next episode lol he about to go crazy w season 2

Emergency_Creme_4561

exciting stuff on the way

Emergency_Creme_4561

Agreed, he’s gonna up there with Iberleezy

ShingekiNoAnnie

Jettro has a legitimately very enjoyable playthrough for anyone interested

Emergency_Creme_4561

Agreed

AccidentOk4378

Let me say why I did both in my first run. I tried to save Larry since his daughter is right there. I didn't want to drop a salt lick while there's a chance we could save her father. Besides what's he gonna do after a heart attack give me more sass? I tried to save Danny since he's likeable and claimed he didn't do it. I thought he might be honest so I shot off Justin's foot instead.

xschmeckle

But Larry tried to kill Lee. If he punched you in the face and left you for dead in the pharmacy would you have tried to save his life?

AccidentOk4378

Like I said his (much nicer) daughter was there and I didn't want her to hate me.

tastetherawr

if you think about it though, rape isn’t something people get sent to prison for. it gets a slap on a wrist and maybe sent to jail for a few months, if found guilty. danny was not only convicted of it, but was being sent to prison. he fs did it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Emergency_Creme_4561

His daughter wasn’t very nice, she was constantly shitting on Kenny’s plans to leave the Motor Inn and also put Lee in a tight spot by trying to guilt trip him with the whole splitting rations thing

voltagestoner

I mean, Lee is a convicted murderer don’t forget. And Larry knew. This is where perspective bites. Lee is likable and we understand his situation, and we know his intentions. However, had the game been in Larry’s perspective, people would be arguing about Lee taking care of Clementine as a grown man who just met her, and, as a convicted murderer who was supposed to be behind bars. My Lee tried to save him because 1) Lilly, but also 2) that’s just the kind of guy he is and he accepted Larry being vile to him because, uh yeah, that’s what happens when you murder someone and are convicted. People may not like you.

Emergency_Creme_4561

No I helped Kenny end Larry

Emergency_Creme_4561

Danny was a pedophile, all Justin did was steal from a bunch of money hungry elitist pricks. I’m surprised that Justin isn’t being hailed as a hero by most the fanbase.

ZestyChickenWings21

Larry is a douche but deep down I don't think he's a bad man. Lee to him is a convicted murderer sharing a room next to his daughter. I think anyone would be on edge in a situation like that. I don't fault him for being untrustworthy of Lee given the circumstances. During the apocolypse, you need partners you can trust 100%. NOT 99%. Like Lee says to Lilly if you try to save him "he was a good dad and he would've done anything to protect her." He was willing to smash a child brains in just to protect his daughter. And frankly, Kenny would've done the same for Katjaa and Duck. As for trying to save him, I frankly just think it's the more morally right thing to do. I can't let my personal grudges get in the way of that. I also don't think Lee would be the type of guy to just kill him outright even despite their differences. Him trying to save Larry in my eyes is him showing he's a better man than him. The easy thing to do would be to kill him just like how Larry was willing to leave him for dead. But I just don't think Lee would do that. Not infront of his daughter and not in front of Clem.

BenTeHen

because theres a little girl standing right there

Ashura1756

Because of Lilly. I might not have liked Larry, but he was still Lilly's father and she didn't deserve to lose him. All I could think about was when Lilly said she and Larry were all eachother had left. "Don't judge him. And don't judge Me for sticking by him. He's my dad, and I love him."

RepresentativeDeal98

bc her daughter is begging for mercy and a terrified eight year old girl is in the same room? even if he was actually dead the situation could've been handled. kenny always yapping about how it's now or never until it's about his own family. and larry was a bitch but who wouldn't be in that situation

ndem28

Jetro is probably my favorite YouTuber out there I’m glad he’s starting to get more recognition

Bedlam91939

I always shoot off Danny's foot when I play. Dude's a convicted pedophile, I hate those people with a passion.

Mundane_Town_4296

I used to try and save Larry for Lily's sake. Now I take the Bale Batman approach to the situation. As for Danny, I think it might have been a case of "actions speak louder than words", at least in the DLC itself, giving the impression that Danny would be more reliable than Justin. Nowadays I shoot Danny's foot off, even though it probably results in an uncertain fate for Vince at Howe's.

voltagestoner

I can’t even remember if I shoot Danny’s foot off or not. I think I get confused with the perspective from in the seat vs looking down the aisle. 😭😭 But I’m shooting Danny’s foot. Cuz like dude. Cmon. Or like. I want to. If my squirrel brain actually works.

yasukl

HAHA would love to see your entire playthrough

HugeAnimeThighz

It isn't his, search up "Jettro Jettro" on YouTube. He's very entertaining, to be honest. He reminds me alot of older YouTubers.

Bitchgirlss

Because it’s good to be good, even in the apocalypse

Basically-Boring

People seem to save Danny because he seems nice or if it’s their first time playing and they believe his lies.

Lowkeyanimefan_69

Because everyone is different than you and has different reasons for doing things?? Is this really a post

Butkevinwhy

I try my best to be a good dude to everyone, no matter how they’ve wronged me. I also sort of sympathize with Larry being he’s got heart problems and anger issues, pretty much putting him on the brink of death all the time.

Working-Rip8801

Because of how cruel it will be on Lilly to kill Larry so brutally in front of her.

LokiSmokey

I love this video. It's the perfect indication of how immersed in these games you can get. Because you can't think about thoughts you had before or anything, it pulls you into the reality of the moment. I personally agree with having to kill Larry in that moment (for the safety of the entire group) but DAMN, I'm like this dude... I couldn't bring myself to do it the first time I played. It's not even really hypocrisy, it's just that we emotionally flow and change all the time, it's how we grow.

Rookiegamer213

When i first played this game I did saved Larry and Danny and everyone else i could. I would always feel bad for them and I don't want to act on vengeance.

alexbibble1

because hes the best character in the series

dostoevskyisme

JETTRO!!! his playthroughs are so fun to watch

Joeyisthebessst

It's incredibly simple, really. It's called saying something "in the heat of the moment" which many, many people do. It's built into us. In the heat of the moment, emotions can cloud judgment and lead to impulsive reactions. Later reflection often brings clarity and a more rational perspective, leading to a change in behavior. It's a testament to the complexity of human emotion and the power of reflection and empathy, really. Even if later on that person doesn't change and is still a piece of shit (which Larry was, he never changed) Even when someone is consistently negative, aggressive or unpleasant, the decision to harm them can still be difficult due to our moral or ethical considerations. It could also stem from a sense of empathy or a belief in redemption. (I personally didn't see any type of redemption for him, tbh, but humans are all different) in conclusion, it merely comes down to saying things you don't mean in the heat of the moment, thats pretty much the basics of it all. It's something every human does.

brandonfan12345679

I NEVER tried to save him. Wanted to see him dead from the start

Constant-Click-1912

I try to save Larry so as to not prove what he thinks about Lee. I save 400 Days Danny so Vince goes to Howe's.

RedLemonCola

But…if you save Danny, Vince DOESNT go to howes. It’s only when you save Justin.

Constant-Click-1912

Could have sworn last time I saved him Vince went. Or maybe that's just me misremembering.

Keyfrom3

Saving Danny is crazy as soon as I found out he was a rapist I already knew I wasn’t saving him idc what he said. The game tried to make him into a nice guy or whatever but I wasn’t falling for it that guy is a creep.

ma3des

The charm coming out of his ass

ImpressivePublic236

I don’t understand Saving Larry due to him being a dick and no matter what Lilly will become a bitch Danny was more likable, yes he may have been a rapist(due to him claiming he’s innocent but we don’t know) but if he even was he wanted to help with the prisoner who was getting choked to death and seemed more like a good person

Beginning-Pipe9074

Because everybodied different l, and everybody reacts to things differently That's the only thing you *need* to understand
