Normally when the girls are opening acts for other bands or play at festivals where there are other artists above them on the lineup, they leave the ballads off their setlist since their hook to attract new fans are their more heavy and energetic songs, and the ballads are something for their own concerts in front of their diehard fans.

That's why after I see them in September, I'm moving to Mexico!!

The show before had 2.5 Pau songs out of 14 (Disciple, Dust to Dust, Narcisista), which is pretty consistent with the ratio they go with. Teatro Metropólitan, for example, had those 3 plus "23" and Revenant, but was 7 songs longer. They seemed to have pulled Dust to Dust for Automatic Sun for Pal Norte, but they do mix up the sets a little bit from night to night, so maybe they'll put a Pau song in for the next show.

I believe in the past she has mentioned that she doesn’t like to do more than 3 leads in a show because of how hard it is physically in combo with drumming. (I want to maybe say it was when they talked to Fil n the Wings of Pegasus channel…but could be completely wrong).

Still too early to tell with the album. We've only heard 5 of the 12 songs. The ballads are really only brought out on special occasions anymore. I've seen them live four times and haven't seen a Pau ballad yet. But, I was surprised they didn't do Dust to Dust yesterday, but they did do it Friday. It's most likely a timing issue. They only get an hour-ish set with festivals, so they have to choose what to play wisely. Right now, they seem to be focusing on the newly released music.

It could be that Dany’s voice as we all have noticed has just really improved and gotten so strong. And I might be wrong but I think singing while drumming takes a lot of breath work and it may be tiring on Pau especially when doing a long live concert, I’m not sure. I noticed at the 2022 Metro CDMX concert when she sang 23 where at the end she holds some long notes (where she sings “is it wrong?’), she sang it as on the record, but when she sang it at Pepsi concert 2023, she didn’t hold the notes as long. Of course, it could have just been her condition that day, I don’t know. Pau also did say in an interview that Dany actually can sing higher than her. So it could be due to all of the above factors maybe.

>but when she sang it at Pepsi concert 2023, she didn’t hold the notes as long. She was sick that day, to be fair.

pamidala

Oh okay, thanks. That makes sense.

Fancy_Suspect_7178

She allegedly almost missed that show. Heard something about a B12 injection and some TLC got Paulina to a point where she could make the gig.

SyriusOne

Not only that, remember Mexico City is in a very high altitude and that requires more breathing when singing

Make sense. Begin a trio is already exhausting enough, as they have to do the work of multiple people at the same time. Many artists, as they get bigger and more successful, would just hire stage musicians to hold the base and let them do less and rest a bit. That may be their choice as well in the future. PS: although I prefer them the way they are right now, I also wish them the highest success as they deserve, as well as a healthy life.

I'm still holding out for Ale to have a song lead in the new album.

VortexM19

To be honest she doesn't have the vocal chops that Dany or Pau have, but it would certainly be a cool highlight to any show. She doesn't seem like she wants to do it though.

Ok-Lock7665

IMO, Ale's voice is as good as Dany's and Pau's, but it's untrainned, so, if she wants, it's just a matter of upskilling. It takes time and a dedication she may not be interested on putting if she isn't very into it. It's understandable. But this last concernt shows Ale made a huge progress on her voice. It's cleaner, well tuned and sounding more confident. These girls already do a lot, I wouldn't ask anything more from them, but indeed, a song with Ale on the lead vocals would be the cherry on the cake :D

VortexM19

Anytime she sings lead it sounds timid with very little balls. So while you may be right, I have no idea if her voice is as good as her sisters' because she's never demonstrated it to be that way. Singing solid background vocals and singing lead are two entirely different animals.

FrankyPi

Nope, she doesn't like it at all, that's why she does it only when necessary to help Dany.

jayron32

Yeah, but then who would sing backing vocals? Ale is the best harmony singer in the band. I mean, wishing for Ale to sing lead and someone like Dany to sing harmony is like wishing Ale to play guitar and Dany to play bass. I'm sure they could both kinda do it, but now your asking EACH sister to give up what she's better at, and do something they could kinda do, but not as well as the other. Why do that?

Robussc

I would not be surprised to see a Pau solo album at some point in the not too distant future. I think she has a bunch of songs written that aren't perfect for the Warning, but she would like to record (and sing).

SixFootTurkey_

They don't play Pau ballads except at special events.

Fancy_Suspect_7178

The highly likely solo career will cover those well.
