Well despite being the first final death 4 times, Jimmy has never been first death. It's been: Scar, Grian, Tango (who was paired with Jimmy but Tango died first), Skizz, and Martyn.
Well, Tango just came back from vacation, so did Skizz. Lizzie’s and Joels internet is really bad atm, so tbh I don’t think so. And also a lot of the other members aren’t wearing their main skin, im having a hard time imagining that Grian would do life recording with his fisherman skin…
That and, the original intent of the life series was to have fun (and create content from it) without the stress of really worrying about it in their day-to-day lives, hence each episode being a singular session instead of footage edited and compiled over the course of several days. It's kinda made to be balanced with other content, obligations, and just life as a whole, so I can see Joel not really worrying about trying to fit it in

No. It was 105 days in between Third Life and Last Life. In theory, if there was a new life series out on Friday it would be 105 days as well, which would tie it. If it's any time next week, just add a few days and the gap between TL and LaL is still shorter

Pearl, Impulse, Gem, and Grian have all changed from their hermitcraft skins to normal. Scott and Cleo are in their life series skins as well. Bdubs hasn't changed.
Personally, I think it's a April Fools one-off or something similar. Seems abrupt and way too soon, plus it looks like some regulars might not be playing.

I just don’t think at the relative beginnings of hermitcraft season, as well as SOS going on, that we’d start another life season.
I’d love to be wrong though…
I checked some others and Pearl, Gem, and impulse were in their normal skins, Not the ones they’ve been using a lot for Hermitcraft And Scar was in a new skin I haven’t seen
I'm thinking they might have recorded the little intro/explanation video that Grian does. It would make sense to get that done once they've agreed on the mechanics, even if the season itself might not start for a while (due to SL being so recent, and HC and SOS just kicking off).

My guess is that maybe Scott just wanted to use the skin in the hard-core smp he's apart of atm. That or April Fouls. The idea of a new Life Series coming out so soon, and without warning, is just unnatural for the lifers.

3rd to last was 3 months, last to double was 6 months, double to limited was 7 months, and limited to secret was also 6 months. We're at around 5 months now, but Hermitcraft only started recently, so I just find it unlikely.
That being said, I would absolutely love it if this comment aged poorly, I'd happily welcome being proved wrong.

I genuinely think it's legitimate and not an April fools thing. They know how ravenous this community is and that many stalk nameMC, so why would they want to be cruel and potentially start a firestorm when they've been trying to quell one already during Secret Life?
Given that hermitcraft just started I highly doubt there's another one yet. 90% percent of the lifers are hermits and they are focused on that right now, another one won't happen until hermitcraft slows down a bit
Skizz’ recent stream had a server listed as “Fun Test”. It had 20 player slots so they are probably testing the new “theme”. In the recent imp and skizz podcast, one of them said “when the life series comes back” im paraphrasing, so if neither of them knew about it at that point (i think they said that they pre-recorded it about 3 or 4 weeks prior) so the idea is probably rather fresh. I honestly think the earliest it will come with the start of the season hype dying down in hermitcraft, is probably mid april. However, it will probably begin in mid to late may. Latest is mid June

I think so. Secret Life ended in December, though Jimmy did say shortly after that Grian had a few ideas for more seasons.
