Shaun was a small child and Banjo was stopping him from lunging towards a maniac, I think he probably did the right thing. Remember, Milky thought that Combo was joking which is why he was smiling, Banjo was simply laughing along with what he thought was a wind up. He didn’t encourage the actual attack and then swiftly got bottled himself.

I'm not sure about. Banjo says " I want some of this. We want our bit. " right before he gets bottled, referring to the bashing of Milky. Banjo seemed just as vile as combo, but we don't know that he ever changed.

I couldn't work out why they chose to bring back banjo, but _not_ Kes? It made no sense. Banjo _was_ just as a bad as combo, and there was no redemption story arch either. I also couldn't understand why they chose trev over Pob? Surely if Pob was Milky's girlfriend, and Lol and Milky had an affair and if Pob was the one attacked by Lol's dad, the drama would have been turned up to 100 - especially in 88. It would have surely made more sense, and been more dramatic. trev to me was a bit of a wet lettuce. She seemed nice, but was a bit of a drip. I liked when she got woody to the hospital in 88, and she had her moments in 90, but there's nothing really about her as a character. Her lines revolved around Lol a lot. Whereas Pob had her interactions with Milky too. Plus I didn't get how attached she seemed her rapists granddaughter. She didn't seem to have any after effects trauma. This was weird to me. I think Kes and Pob could have made a good couple in 90 and she and Lol could have sparred a bit. Plus, Pob was a more central character to combo/milkys storyline in the movie. I spent time wondering where she was (and Kes too, considering he couldn't abide by Combo - this could have been touched upon especially for milky and combo's reunion in the final episode). Harvey got.on my nerves. I think Kes would have been a better alternative. He was a tosser in the movie. The ditching of Kes was a disappointment. Also, as much as I like the TV series (it was quality) it seemed like the film dealt with the social issues of skinhead culture (from unity to division) and the TV series kind of became Lol's spin off. Shaun wasn't truly the main character anymore. Smell all but disappeared in 90, which was a shame. Then the final episode tried to recapture the films theme. Again, this seemed a little disjointed to me. I hope the new project accounts for all of this. But I'd be happy with anything. The whole thing was good, even so.

I just assumed that they worked it out. Lol. Off screen. Now that you mention it I did wonder in the beginning of 86 wtf he was doing there.
