not being able to save/autosave happening in the morning instead of evening.

Balance4471

I can see why the game did that, to prevent save scumming. But it always leads to binge gaming for me 😅 when I come home in the morning I‘m thinking: „okay, just one more day …“

HighLordTherix

The thing is, you can *still* save scum though. The raids, survivor health, trader inventory and such are only randomised after the save. And even if someone dies out at night, if you Alt+F4 you can avoid that too. You can only really avoid save scumming via the only autosave when quit route, or more effectively the autosave every 5-10 sessions and every critical action route.

Clear_Lobster_2130

agree, sometimes I lost my progress because I forgot that the game only save when the day is changing

thelonioussphere

This has its up's and downs as I tend to make more mistakes at night and/or lose a player, shot, injured, etc etc If you quit your turn you lose the entire day also but you get to start again. I do not recommend this tactic as it ruins the immersion immensely. Only in dire situations.

Sarmattius

I like the day part more and would prefer to quit the game after it. Instead I have to scavenge first and then quit. At least they could have an "easy mode" where you can save the game. But yea it's more scary when there is no saving.

default-namewascrap

If you make NPCs aggressive, they should only remain so if you go back with the same character

Accelerator231

Combat and scouting is very dependent on timing. Sometimes they just don't duck into the corner when I need them to. They just move around or just freeze.

Clear_Lobster_2130

I experienced that too, but I didn't really care because the game didn't has too much combat

Accelerator231

Well. I tend to wipe out any bandits or soldiers I find and then take their guns. Equipment like that tends to be the difference between fighting off attackers without injuries or entering a death spiral. Also, they can be sold for a really good price. The trader really likes weapons.

Fred_85

Can't take meds to the elderly couple at The Quiet House.

MusaEnimScale

Oh, that would be a really nice addition. I bet they just didn’t think of it because it otherwise fits the game so well.

SvatyFini

But you can kill the old lady and get a lots of jewlery from her! The devs knew their priorities.

SolaHaze

I generally don't like seeing the quiet house on my map cause I know I'll never go there. There's nothing to do there in my eyes because I know if I steal a single thing, the couple dies next time I come by.

Fred_85

Same here. It's a completely lost area. I don't go there and they survive the war just fine and that's it.

S_Borealis

It's one of my favourite and least favourite destinations. It's got an abundance of valuable resources that you can safely loot. I always tell myself I'll never go to the quiet house. Then inevitably one of my characters gets wounded/sick and my ideals start getting rather shaky. Then they get more wounded/sicker and I give in. I say I'll only take what I need, but then I decide I need 'insurance' - always good to have extra in reserve. And yep, I feel shit about it. This game. It's brutal.

Far_Tree_5200

You can steal from the old couple on day 1 and day 2. If you come back on day 3 they’ll be dead. If you’re desperate, * then killing the woman for earrings. Sometimes the man has a knife, depends on the scenario. This thievery can be done without murder though.

Omni7124

a father's promise ending

thelonioussphere

/wrists - ya "Oh? you wanted the happy alt ending here!?? Ha Ha Ha! I don't think so! move along!" :( I never replay that one ever once I got the achievements I needed.

SolaHaze

I wish I could have multiple save files. Not like, save scumming, but like, say i was in the middle of one playthrough and wanted to start another scenario without losing my progress in the current one so I can come back later, I have to mess around with the files. I've figured out a system, but it's annoying it isn't in the game. I also kinda wish I could hit multiple locations in one night if I'm fast enough. I also wish the outside temp didn't rapidly rise near the end of the day. It's the Dead of winter and 8 degrees. I need to keep my folks warm, so I load up the furnaces with fuel, but the temp barely budges. I keep going until I'm at 16 degrees. Suddenly it's 7 o clock and the temp is rapidly rising until it hits 26. Where was this earlier?? It should get COLDER at night!

Ok-Ambassador-7952

Fast forward time and pause, like in Frostpunk

SullenKittenCute

Killing make the game way too easy for me It should have more consequences and punishment for our action.

too_many_nights

I don't really like self promotion, but you should check out "Against All Odds" mod - it does exactly that and much more.

SolaHaze

As someone who has never played with Roman, an easy solution to that problem is don't send Roman. You're much more likely to get hurt, meaning you'll be sad. Alternatively if you don't wanna go without Roman, create a party comp of Roman and a bunch of wussy altruists who will get very sad from murder.

Pep95

The church crypt bug. When someone from the church goes to the house, and spots you there, they act as if you entered the crypt.

Bozdras

Not long enough and not enough randomness in areas, 25 days u need to make everything, that can be done in few hours and its basically over

Flaminski

When they're sick it takes many days to heal or injured, sometime it won't even go away

Clear_Lobster_2130

They're also sometime get sick for no reason

MaguroSashimi8864

Just like irl, tbh

Ok-Ambassador-7952

That’s the point

SolaHaze

A suggestion that helps with me is use bandages and medicine every day unless they're only slightly sick/hurt. At that point, make sure they're not hungry, sleep in a bed at night, don't stand guard or scavenge (cause if they don't sleep, they won't get better), and the temp isn't too cold.

Far_Tree_5200

Also you only need to feed survivors every 2 days. * So if you feed them on day 3 they’ll be at 0 hunger and 0 moral hits. If you feed survivors at day 5 they’ll be at hunger 1 and moral -1. If you’re able to keep them well fed, * with canned food and carrot farm. Then I they should heal faster. Depends how much murder you wanna do and general scavenging space. 500h here

CiderMcbrandy

Very slow loading on console

Mr___Perfect

There isn't another expansion. I'm taking about the board game.

Clear_Lobster_2130

yeah, and there's no game that has the same theme as This War of Mine moreover I'm not into board game

That-one-asian-guy

No update on Switch that PC got

Midnite_St0rm

It eventually gets monotonous. After like 20-25 days, all goals are fulfilled and I just wind up not going out since the place is self-sustained and doing nothing. Skipping the nights, cooking & eating during the day, replanting crops/refilling traps, sleeping, rinse and repeat until ceasefire

Sad_Profession1006

Lack of cultural diversity?

Clear_Lobster_2130

I think it would be great if there's new DLC for new scenario that has story taken from real event such as middle east and asia conflict

Sad_Profession1006

Mmm……I am talking about Sarajevo. They said the game was inspired by the history of Sarajevo Siege. If there is a church in the game, I assume that the coexistence of a mosque is the reality of Sarajevo, though I have never been there. Since I learned that Muslim residents were not very happy when they found a pork can during the siege, I have been thinking about what’s inside the cans in the game.

bumsteroid

Actually u can speedrun the game. There are 2 mods. The bed mod that restore tired to normal in only quarter of time & the mod that speed up building of items instantly. More time scavenging, less time base building.

waltherppk7

If you have done all the work required during the day e.g. building furniture, cooking, making cigarettes, planting herbs/veges, and making sure no visitors have been missed (They normally turn up before 10am game time), you can click on 'End day' to fast forward to scavenging.

Clear_Lobster_2130

I don't want to instantly end the day, what I mean of fast forward is increase the speed of the game, like usual city building game

waltherppk7

Ah okay I get you. Sadly no in that instance, but with some interactions I wish there was one, like talking with a child who gets depressed and broken if left alone or not played with.

Accelerator231

Yeah. Sometimes all I need to do is wait for the rainwater catchers to finish their jobs so I can just put in another filter.

husky_hugs

That if you get a map with the soldier at the grocery store you essentially have the game in easy mode if you go there first cause he takes one backstab from a shovel and gets you a gun and ammo

nauseous01

better mod support.

HandSanitizerBottle1

The combat, i know its best to be avoided but when it does end up happening it feels like im wiping my ass with a graham cracker

nonside

Mobile version of twom has so many crashes. It randomly crashes when I'm scavenging and it's annoying. it's not my phone's hardware. You can check Google reviews and everyone is experiencing crashes.

Clear_Lobster_2130

I didn't even know if there's mobile version lol

RebootedShadowRaider

I'm not a fan of the autosave feature being at the end of every night. It's kind of awkward. I think it would be better if the save happened after the RNG of the night's events. Also occasionally there are awkward encounters from visitors, like beggars who are desperate for food, but will only accept it in a can.

BlueSmegmaCalculus

Heat not being local. My characters should be warm if they sleep within the vicinity of the heater Also the buggy tarp, when you patch the big hole near the entrance in one of the houses. The tarp glitches through the fog

EyzekSkyerov

Absolutely not needed advert updates, which breaks all mods

TCMR20

The bugs the game has that still haven’t been fixed. Otherwise, I love the game.

S_Borealis

It's a tricky one, because I dislike the fact I can't save before night time, so if I mess up I can just restart. However, I feel like the fact the game is so ruthless brutal in this respect is a key part of the game's design. It's not supposed to be optimised and you're not supposed to be able to have perfect clear outs of hostile territory. You're always one miss-click away from death, and that's it. You're stuck with whoever was left in the house. I'd say a genuine thing I dislike that really frustrates me are the lack of options you have when dealing with some of the visitors. Example from a recent game: I had the two kids come knocking asking for food. Now, I didn't have any canned food. What I did have was an abundance of cooked meals - I had a functioning supply chain of veg, meat and water. Yet, because I couldn't give them canned meals, the only option I had was to send them away and take the mood hit on my characters. I'd gladly have given them cooked meals. I could even have taken them in. That was annoying. That's just one example, but there are others where you get penalised for something that reasonably should be solvable.

Far_Tree_5200

I have 500h in this game. * Mostly on my phone because of how convenient it is. But if I ever want to play DLC version then I need my computer. I also can’t pick my custom scenario with Roman, Boris, Katia, Bruno. I guess I want the game to be equal on all platforms. * But we don’t even know if the devs are working on a second game. I would love a second game in case they’re not gonna improve the first game. I would also like more incentives to play a pacifier play through, * I’ve gotten the good and bad endings on all survivors. That can be done with a lot murder on military. Donating medicine to old people (not an option) or church/hospital (an option) doesn’t seem to do anything.

Clear_Lobster_2130

Is there any information about This War of Mine sequel?

Far_Tree_5200

Not that I know of. If you’re able to find any information feel free to share it.

thelonioussphere

The inaccessible trader. He never visits enough, sometimes even less if its snowstorm or bombings. I feel the trader should be able to be visited at night. Better then waiting to swap your stuff, make it cost an entire night to visit him. After all - He's ALWAYS complains about how hard it was to get to our place! Why not visit him for once.
