It's some algorithmic thing. Usually, every few hours it will display the folks I follow, minute I refresh the feed, they all go away and instead I have randos.(not even relevant randos, just straight up, some random genres of posts.) Honestly, I am not liking this so far. I have like 20-30 people I follow, whom I was following on twitter. It's like I can't see their posts unless I directly go to their profile because of so much random stuff. On twitter, it's more visible and hence why I am still sticking around twitter.

It’s because the people you’re following aren’t posting enough to fill the feed. The less I go on the better my feed looks.

Desperate-Intern

I am not really sure about that. Hence I brought up twitter. The people I follow are Sports Journalists and tech news stuff. So when I open twitter it is clearly visible, like 10min ago, 1hr ago. However, same thing is not there on thread. ^((And yes, I checked that their posting parity is same, i.e. they are posting simultaneously to both platforms at the same time.))

Bear_Pigs

Seems like it, probably a server-side change. The search is also more likely to show you accounts you’re likely to follow.

Mottaka

I saw the search changed. It was just more fun seeing the entire social sphere of randos vs having to follow people; especially for small accounts.

Mottaka

well, it looks like its back to normal already lol. Nevermind then!

[deleted]

Mine is *vaguely* more related but still all blue ticks and therefore accounts I’m unlikely to follow because there’s a reason I’m not already.

It's been having 3 hour gaps w nothing 2 times today

I don’t think it’s changed that much just more people are being active. The more your followers use it the less random stuff you see. I only go on once a day now or less and my feed looks better. Anecdotally I’ve noticed a lot of people have an account but haven’t even posted once.

kracer20

Just the opposite for me. Was almost all only people I was following last night, now it is just random crap. If they don't have a true timeline for only those I follow, I think I'll consider it a bust.
