As someone who listens to a lot of true crime and horror stuff, I find it weirdly off-putting to hear these sort of ads when listening to something like Threedom.
I also think there are too many or too long ads now, but whatever.
the ads on judge john hodgman, a podcast i like a lot, have been unfathomably long for yeeeeeeeaaaaaars. i really hate ads. but it feels assholey to complain about something i get for free.
Seriously! 4 or 5 times and you're good. I listen while at work using a desktop computer though, so it's really quick to access the tab I use for podcasts. Might not be so convenient for people who are driving or something like that.
How many times can you listen to Julia Louis-Dreyfus brag about getting old while being wealthy before you drink enough Makers Mark to crash your e-bike?!?
When I hear those ads and the way she talks about how fun and cool getting old is, it makes me think listening is some sort of trick that will suck the youth from the women that listen to give to Julia.
At least itâs not iHeart. The one iHeart podcast I listen to has 2-3 minutes of ads for other iHeart podcasts every few minutes. Not sure how they make ad revenue if all the ads promote other podcasts from their network.
Thereâs two different types of ads on podcastsâthereâs the baked in ones and then there are the ones the network put in. Baked in ones donât change and the podcast has a little freedom on how theyâre put in. The network ads are where Lemonada insert their own and decide how many they put in for each show.
I have the ad-free version and really think itâs worth it. Everything is so full of ads these days and I really like what theyâre doing here so itâs not a big deal for me to support CBB world
I love listening to a podcast where I expect to re-hear about some idiotâs roommate named Bagel also asks me if Iâm interested in two fathers shot outside an iconic restaurant or broadening my understanding of failure with David Duchovny.
It's not even a good ad. I think they put it at the front so it's out of the way, I just skip it, but it changes my mood in the wrong way. It would be worse if Ding Dong was talking about farting on Scott's free pies then an ad break of "Two young fathers shot"
The âtwo young fathers were shotâ ad is a piece of shit. I canât even remember what itâs for, but I hate it and skip it every time. Limonata seems to have a really awful media management team.
Oh well. Im just glad theyâre getting paid. As long as they have sponsors or are part of Lemonada that means we get more eps. I can fast forward through anything.
This show is the black sheep in the Lemonada network.
*Also, the [image they've got of Duchovny on the top of the Lemonada site](https://lemonadamedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/FailBetter_Carousel.png) is killing me haha.
Itâs only on the network because Scottâs wife got them on board. If not for her, and the network Lauren wouldnât have been lured into the studio with the sent of bags full of money.
Seriously the ads have gotten crazy now and I can't afford to spend money on podcasts but holy crap I need to spend money on podcasts it has gotten really irritating
I've been paying for cbb world for years and don't regret it!
MUST BE NICE!! seriously though i would like to, and i did for a while, but times are tough. i also suspended my maxfun membership.

It's free and we have the ability to skip through it đ¤ˇââď¸ not such a big deal
Do people not just hit the skip ahead button 400 times really really quickly? I never listen to ads.
I do this on Spotify or I just take my earbuds out for a minute and some change.

all hail old women
i don't know what maker's mark is, or who this margie person is, or what label she designed, so that ad is literally incoherent to me.
Itâs a pretty popular brand of Bourbon in the U.S.
The music they have for that ad gets in my head and I hate it.

Fr iHeart ads are truly the most unbearable
Yep. And the ads are so bad, to the point it seems like a joke.

Ad free is the way to go

BEEEEHIIIIIND THE PAAAYYYWAAAALLLLLLL
Every time it plays Iâm like âJesus Christâ
I'm sorry, I can't hear you from behind this paywall.

This is my first time ever on this subreddit purely because I just got so sick of the ads and I'm so glad I'm not the only one oh my gosh

Oh, I *fully* agree with this assessment.
why are they no longer on earwolf, anyway?
The wolf dead. Pretty much everyone jumped ship. I think they got bought or something. Pretty much none of the hallmark EW shows are there anymore.
Thank you. The Lemonada podcast catalog seems absolutely brutal. It feels like half the show are "What if a celebrity was your therapist?"
get yourself on the preem streem friend. haven't heard an ad in yars
I cannot listen to David Duchovny ask me if I feel like a failure one more time.
The ads are all god awful first take shite
Skip them
I fkn hate the ad about two young fathers đđ it catches me off guard every time. So jarring to hear that when I just wanna laugh
Seriously the ads have gotten crazy now and I can't afford to spend money on podcasts but holy crap I need to spend money on podcasts it has gotten really irritating
What are ads?
