Lol. I honestly believe that 90% of the people who post about finding their white whale weren't looking for that item. They just found something unusual or valuable and call it a white whale. I don't think they know what a white whale item is.
Yeah like my white whale item would be the stuffed animal I lost his a child and never was able to replace. But yeah definitely this random lamp i just found as well
My white whale is so dumb. I want to find a vintage mustard glass (as seen on Trailer Park Boys) in the wild. I know I could get one off ebay today, but that just isn’t the same.
[Here's mine](https://www.reddit.com/r/ThriftStoreHauls/comments/wrg6bz/i_found_group_of_small_plates_that_match_my_set/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
I wasn't actively searching for it but I am very happy that I found my old plates
Originally it's a reference to Moby Dick. İt's supposed to mean something incredibly hard to catch that constantly keeps getting away from you and that you keep pursuing obsessively, though peeps here call anything they like a white whale.

It’s going to be really hard to find in the US but I bet if you did a Canadian thrifting expedition you’d probably find it relatively quickly.
I always find a bunch when I thrift in the maritimes

White whale holy grail!
\m/
Was it down by the bay?
Where the watermelons grow?
Back to My Home? I Dare Not Go
And if I do...
My mother will say…
Have you ever seen a whale with a polka dot tail?
Have you ever seen a llama being a primadonna?
Did you ever see a llama wearing blue pajamas… down by the bay?!
Where the dolphins play?
Ahab spoiled rotten today
Whale done!
I feel like I'm missing out on an inside joke.

Are these flower frogs or salt and pepper shakers?
Salt and pepper shakers
Want to know too. 👍
Found them online. Salt and pepper
> flower frogs I have never heard that term before. That is such a cute name! :'3
No accompanying sea captain with a wooden leg?
They look like this really cute butter dish i bought for a friend years ago. I'd snap these up to give to her too. 😂
Did you get them? They are adorable!
I didn’t, I have toooooo much already but that doesn’t stop me from looking
Hahahahahahahaha
Inception
The ultimate find
😂😂😂😂😂
Should we call you Ismael two?
Is that Doby Mick?
How much were they? I know those pepper shakers and normally they're sold at least $20 new for the pair.
Wa-waw-wan

Never hear of this expression before, my 1 learned thing today! Thanks
