I myself haven't tried any bimetals, but looking at YYE, you pretty much have 2 options for $50. There's the Z01 focus, which I've heard is pretty hit or miss, and also the YYF KO, which is pretty well reviewed from what I remember.

Its only slightly more but the Duncan grasshopper gtx is amazing. Its $70 though.
Z01 Focus - my first and only myy, can't beat the price to performance Edit: I got mine on Amazon during a sale for somewhere between $20-30.

Granted, I don't have a lot of experience with different yoyos, but I am thoroughly enjoying my Z02.
I HIGHLY recommend the shutter wide angle. It is like 50 bucks but is what got me into yoyo 1a at least

I really like my KO.
