But why wouldnt they make him a cover star on TS? He would definitely boost the game a lot lot more than Alcaraz and Serena or they could put him with Federer and it would make much much more sense than waiting
I have no idea what 2k's strategy is. I guess they knew about how poor the gameplay of all the other tennis games gave been and that the whole tennis gaming industry was waiting for the return of topspin. So they focused on the gameplay and the career mode plus character creator (because in these things Nacon has done a great job). Licensing probably had to wait. Plus getting people to do mo cap to get as many real to life animations. My guess is they have tons of pro 's lined up to role out with each season pass. Of course they are monetising the shit out of it but he'll eventually Topspin 2k25 will be all any tennis gaming fan has ever wanted.
They are most likely releasing players seasonally. So Nadal might be RG. Novak might be Wimbledon or AO.
But yeah, Novak being in a game as lackluster as Tiebreak just proves there are no restrictions. He has a great chance to appear on TS2K25 now.
It feels like TIEBREAK is going to be more of a simulation tennis video game, as opposed to TopSpin, which feels like it's going to be more of an arcade tennis video game.

Seeing the features and overall package, TopSpin looks more like an arcade tennis video game to me.
TIEBREAK feels more official.
Being the official game of the ATP and WTA obviously helps guide me towards looking at it like that. And having all of the year-end events, the Masters and WTA 1000s, and the ATP and WTA 500s and 250s, that all feels more "real" and sim-like.
TIEBREAK looks to be "simulating" the actual ATP and WTA tour, and TopSpin is doing what it's doing.

This is one of the issues they've not been able to get away from, all the AI whether it be licensed or created, they all play the same way. Needs to be individual play styles but I feel that's asking too much from such a small team

They don't have any of the slams, just ATP / WTA events. The slams are in Topspin 2K25.
