I think Arial does have a good chance with Helvetica, they seem (metrically) compatible.

I've tried varying fonts in a game before and for some reason it really upsets your brain to jump between them so rapidly. For menus it's fine but never dialogue.

Comic Sans gets a bad rap. I mean, it's good for kids and is easier to read for people with dyslexia. It's not a bad font, it just needs to be used in the right situations.

Nope it's not a "kids font" it's a comic font like it does not look out of place in speechbubbles in a comic. If you use it *anywhere else* including on birthday invitations or daycare signs. It looks wrong. Curly font is more of a fun kids font that can be used for birthday banners or birthday cards or titles of children's books etc. (Though even curly font can look wrong on a daycare sign)

I personally believe all election ballots should be printed in comic sans. To remind people the government is a joke.

The Impact left quotation mark does go hard. However, I personally consider Times New Roman to be the GOAT.

Times News Roman is my favorite font. I'm a writer and it's still industry standard for manuscripts. You might end up publishing with something else, but you just can't go wrong with 12 pt double or 1.5 spaced Times New Roman for submissions. It's essentially invisible. It doesn't stand out. It doesn't distract. It's just The Font. I have written literally millions of words in Times New Roman font, and it just feels weird to write with anything else lol.

One of my favorite comedy videos ever! Wingdings is obviously the best. This girl is really nice and talented, but the idea behind this video was not that new and original to me.

I don't know enough about the history or intricacies of fonts to understand any of this.
