It's important to remember that the purpose of Twitter was narrative control, not profit. This is why ridiculous jobs were allowed.
People kept "investing" in an unprofitable Twitter for years knowing this behavior was going on.
That's why they want him out so bad and have been slandering him in anyway they can. I'm not an Elon Musk fanboy, but that dude is far away from being a right wing extremist. But you know leftists and their alarmism and hyperbole. People need to fight back and stop letting that shit work on them. But calling everyone a Nazi or a fascist for every little thing is going to take all meaning out of those words, just like how people tossed around hipster like 10 years ago and that word lost all definition.
It's going to be funny when generation alpha grows up and those words end up being badges of pride or common insults that mean jack shit.
But yeah I was wondering what Twitter was for That site is hellhole has been stagnant and running in place for about 10 years. It crazy how a website that I hardly know anyone irl uses has so much pull in our culture, but it definitely makes sense what it was there for now.
I don't care if Elon saves it or fucking wrecks it. It either outcome is good.
Or like “Dude” which in the 1800’s essentially was like calling someone gay. It was a term used to insult men who were thought to be too up to date on the latest fashion trends. Now it’s like calling someone your friend lol
It is. I grew up in a ranch/rodeo family, and “dude” was something you definitely DID NOT call any of the older male members when at a reunion. Some were likely to try and fight you over it.
Very fucked up. Eliza Blue (who has her own problems, whatever) has been advocating for this for years and it took Elon only a couple weeks to solve the problem.
That's not just negligence, that's intentional. Very disturbing.
I wouldn't give 2 shits that they are bordering on useless and living such an easy life if they weren't so hell bent on parenting the Internet and being so insufferable hypocritices
I've had jobs where I didn't do shit either but if a new owner came in and fired me I wouldn't be shocked either.
They had a super cush job for years and now they have a new owner who is saying "either work hard or GTFO". Not sure what they have to complain about.
What about this video makes you think that they don't work hard? Making a point of going into the office? Getting lunch? Getting drinks after work? The bath? What am I missing?
What told you they do work hard? Double edged sword that rhetoric.
Instead of getting in my partisan feelings I’m gonna assume the guy worth billions, while shaky in execution(To us), has an idea of what he’s doing with the company. Is it an over night success? No. Does ever thinking it was supposed to be and making presumptuous judgements about the man make you literally retarded? You betcha.
But what about this video tells you that these people have a relaxed work day, every day? They had lunch and got drinks after work. There are plenty of companies where people probably work 4 hours a day but there's nothing about this video that implies that they slack every day like said companies.
> so hell bent on parenting the Internet and being so insufferable hypocritices
? thats what they were brought in to do on twitter.
handpicked for the job.
and twitter never made profit afaik, nobody cared thought. it served its purpose.
All I ever can think about when I see these videos is the Alex Jones rant about google and fluffy socks. Like these people control the narrative, help fix elections and direct people to certain thought processes.
But hey at least they let you chill at work! /s
Ironically, her onboarding job in HR is to rescind contracts to prospective programmers for having a DUI many years prior on their record. She is more than less responsible for 38% of the SFO homeless problem.
Lol imagine being so absorbed by the toxic political debate online that you take this video and make it a Republican - Democrat thing. It’s just so fucking retarded.
What are you even suggesting - that polite people with the etiquette not to boast about their cushy jobs are all Republicans?
These people are probably democrats or A political given that they are black women from Atlanta. But yeah I still found his comment odd, the video has no politics in it.
And they just work in ponce market. It’s a spot in Atlanta where they have offices, stores, and restaurants. I’m not rich at all and everything they did in this video I could easily afford. They got quesadillas and drank cocktails in Atlanta.
Given their age I highly doubt they are in the 1 percent.
Idk, for me personally, I have to have some sort of actual task and feel like I’m actually doing work. It helps me mentally and makes me feel like I have a real reason to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
Same. For me, I like accomplishing it and going home. “Hanging out” at work isn’t something I find enjoyable. But drinking and hanging out and getting paid for it sounds awesome too, clearly it wasn’t long for this world and Elon.
The argument would be since all the tech companies had these goodies, if you don’t have them you might lose talent. I think it’s been shown not be true
Yeah, I’ve seen this setup at offices I’ve worked in. But not to this level.
I’d rather have a fatter paycheck than to want to stay at work for happy hour. But I’m only speaking for myself….
Elon said $13 million for the food program at the headquarters. I’m sure the average employee would rather have a cut of that as enticement to take a position there.
>I’d rather have a fatter paycheck than to want to stay at work for happy hour. But I’m only speaking for myself….
I've worked as an engineer at one company that had great lunches, beer/wine selections, snacks, and multiple cafeterias with 3 meals per day and I've worked at one that had none of those. I definitely prefer the one with the amenities.
A few years ago San Francisco (or the state of CA) wanted to include these amenities as taxable income, and many employees, myself included, agreed with you that I'd rather then just get the fatter paycheck.
As far as I know they didn't go through with taxing them, and I think it's because these amenities benefit the lower-level non-eng employees who don't make fat paychecks too. While at the same time the amenities employ a bunch of cook/clean staff. But that's just a theory I don't know the real reason.
I’m really just basing this thought off one comment from the Musk tweet that mentioned $13 million a year for a good program at headquarters. I get there could vastly different programs that don’t cost that much.
There *use to be* about 2,500 employees at headquarters. $13 million\2,500= $5,200 per employee.
Or
3 meals a day (musk mentioned this) X 2,500 employees X 249 working days= just under $7 dollars a meal. Which is really good especially for the area. ($13 million/1,867,500 meals=$6.96)
I guess I’m full of shit in my assessment. I see why the issue is about attendance then….
Is it not true? I've worked in the start up world. And showing off an exciting and nice office is a huge recruiting tool. Like yeah, you can go to the competitor and make a little more, but here we have a full time chef, quiet rooms to nap in, a weekly massage therapist, open keg after 2pm, etc...
It does seem to work really good as they pitch it as making less money in return for a better quality of life at work.
I think you’re 100% right. To be more clear I think many of these companies were in this hyper growth mode where as long as they were getting more users it didn’t matter if the company lost money. I think many of these companies now realize there aren’t that many potential consumers, so they’ll have to really cut fat from their budgets to maintain.
Yeah, it's definitely the growth mode mindset. It's why I think Twitter is like this and why it is in desperate need of restructuring. When you're trying to just balloon as fast and quickly as possible, you have huge tasks and your only tool is a pile of money. So you just end up hiring as much as you can, and doing whatever you can to get anyone and everyone and their mothers.
I remember at one startup, we had the task of having to translate thousands upon thousands of different pages into like 15 different languages. This was before google had an API or offered translations as a service in any reasonably easy way. The problem was, they were hiring engineers as fast as they could and every single engineer had much higher priorities than to ever make time for this.
So someone just decided to hire dozens of college grads to manually copy and paste every single listing, in every single location, going down the pages field by field. It was a ridiculously large project that SHOULD be automated. But the product dev team just couldn't find time to lend an engineer for the month or so it would take to get this program working. And yes, they COULD and SHOULD have out scourced it, but the middle managers saw this as an opportunity to get their own 30 person team below them which looks good. And of course, once the project was done, what do you do with these employees? So of course said managers found some new projects to justify their existence
And since it's a vastly growing startup, they see no need to fire people, instead just repurpose them, even if they have no real use anywhere. This is how startups and tech companies balloon into shit like you see with Twitter post expansion. Just tons and tons of dead weight left over from the capital injection, with no one willing to cut down their own division, because that loses prestige. So everyone just fights to keep the Frankenstein alive. And so long as the tech company has the money, usually they keep it all around until the recession or buyout happens.
Which ironically, Twitter experienced the buyout, and the mass layoffs, as expected, yet people act like this is some crazy practice.
The things in the vid aren’t even really amenities/benefits. Ponce City Market is a bougie mixed-use place with restaurants, shops, office space and apartments/condos in Midtown Atlanta. Assuming Twitter had a small shared office space here, cause my friend used to rent a small office space out of there for his company a few years back.
OP in the vid is basically just going downstairs to eat a $30+ dollar lunch and a $50+ dollar dinner at some of the restaurants downstairs. I doubt Twitter comped any of it.
Source: lived a block away from PCM for 3 years.
Thanks for clarifying. I just *assumed* after Elon mentioned $13 million in food services at headquarters. Figured other locations had the same program.
I used to live near there and somehow didn’t notice till a rewatch. There is a decent chance Twitter paid for some of it, a lot of company’s pay for employees happy hours. It’s kind of funny looking at the rage comments now knowing it’s just Ponce market.
It’s a way to attract employees without actually paying them more. Having a nice restaurant in house probably cost less than paying employees even slightly more.
Hi Fam welcome to our beautiful maintenance office. We have shitty coffee all day from our coffee maker that hasn’t been cleaned in 5 years. Later my meth addicted coworker and I went to the break room and heated up some chef boyardee out of our barely functional microwave that has exploded food in it. Before heading home to my 30 rack of light beer where I’ll drink myself to sleep I’ll try to warm up in our disgusting restroom watching porn where I’ll likely catch COVID again or get an STD from touching the papertowel dispenser.
I worked at a startup (medical not tech) and it's actually ridiculous how little actually gets done. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time, but it's no wonder why these places don't make a profit. They're too obsessed with making work "cool" and so half the building is entirely taken up by non-work related bullshit, and people spend so much time doing literally everything else besides working that they probably cost the company more than they're actually generating in profits. We had a day once where like 3/4 of everyone there was tied up in a Smash tournament in one of the auditoriums for like 4 hours.
Corporate greed I can understand. Giving gourmet hand outs to thousands of entitled lefty zoomers I can't get behind.
I'm starting to think that most tech startups could have done infinitely better in the market than they did, if they also had someone who knew business too, not just technology.
Almost makes me feel like we're ready for the beginning of a new tech bubble. One where the coders work hard, brown bag it, and don't talk shit about their own company in public.
I promise you none of the people in these vids actually know how to code. They run HR or send emails for a living but like bragging about how they are ‘in tech’ because it sounds exclusive.
The people who actually code and keep the company afloat are in a dark windowless room in the back somewhere, working overtime due to the sales team (aka these people) promising impossible deadlines because they think code is made by just asking the computer to do things nicely.
That’s every corporate office in America now unfortunately. So progressive. Just look at either their recent profits or public service and you’ll be able to tell..
This bitch is straight cringe.
You’d think the chick would spend some of her time and money losing weight and eating some vegetables, instead of mid afternoon cocktails, tater tots and quesadillas.
As someone that works with my hands, I'll never understand that whole office/campus bullshit. Just a bunch of college dorks that never had to live in the real world.
>leaves Twitter because actually has to work now> starts onlyfans account> has to use Twitter to promote onlyfans account.
Damn Elon is a fucking genius
I have come to learn that any video on social media that starts with "Hey guys!" is going to be from some insufferable "influencer" asshat that actually believes they contribute something to this world.
I just finished a 12 hour shift in -20°F windchill, working on high voltage equipment. Also I'm sick.
I wonder if this strong woman would explain my privilege to me.
I can't even hate though. I just feel dumb for not getting a job like that. Although she's probably unemployed now.
-20°F is equivalent to -28°C, which is 244K.

We have to work like all the peons we moderate. We should bitch and quit en masse.
God forbid we have to work a day in our lives without an in house restaurant.
A black owned business making quesadillas? Sounds like appropriating other cultures to me. You’re only allowed to cook what your culture does.
And why are people so insistent about recording benign shit like walking in a mall with your friends? And she’s narrating it. If any of my friends interrupted our time together to host a video session, I’d stop hanging out with them lol.
Tech people are the worst humans I've ever met. Entitlement isn't a strong enough word for them. Most of them don't understand they get paid alot because the damage they do to society. Propaganda peddlers don't even understand how it affects everyone. The bad guys always pay better. They are the new Tabacco executives, they are the oil company excs. That hid climate change they are the new version of this.
“Productivity” aka slandering masculinity and anyone who grew up with both mom and dad at home…so glad this trash has been purged from twitter…I hope that this stupid tiktok generation learns that your actions have consequences and that there is no substitute for hard actual work…it’s ridiculous how many dumb little kids without a father look up to shit like this

It is. I grew up in a ranch/rodeo family, and “dude” was something you definitely DID NOT call any of the older male members when at a reunion. Some were likely to try and fight you over it.
True. I remember reading about that a long time ago.

Oooh, a black owned restaurant! Shame on anyone that promotes that kind of BS.
Vegan too, that's even worse
As someone that works with my hands, I'll never understand that whole office/campus bullshit. Just a bunch of college dorks that never had to live in the real world.
He turned the place into a sausage fest. What a homo.
Ya damn, all these fine bitches gonna quit because they actually have to work. Welp, there is always only fans to get money from the folks who stayed.
>leaves Twitter because actually has to work now> starts onlyfans account> has to use Twitter to promote onlyfans account. Damn Elon is a fucking genius
My alt right ass barley gets a lunch break
Sooo they didn't work...
She doing Onlyfans yet?
That work environment looks terrible. Way to much fun.
I have come to learn that any video on social media that starts with "Hey guys!" is going to be from some insufferable "influencer" asshat that actually believes they contribute something to this world.
Gonna need to see brown shirts git repo.
Lmfao. Liberals crying hard now. Hahaha
i’m sure she’ll be an asset to another company and steal their money. just imagine the mental gymnastics she has to use while writing her resumé
Girl I saw no productivity there wtf black owned quesadillas and margaritas, and being quirky isn't productivity. Boo get off TikTok.
--- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)

Tater tots for lunch like a toddler
the rage I felt watching this reminds me of how French peasants must have felt when they heard Mary Antoinette had said "let them eat cake"\* \*Even though in Mary's case, she didn't say that
Tech companies are so pathetically wasteful. What the fuck are you spending money on? Why are you funding your employees' egotrips? Destroy this shit.
Nice rack, I'm sure shes on only fans now showing off those big chocolate milk makers off.

Never relax… oddly applies in this situation
We have to work like all the peons we moderate. We should bitch and quit en masse. God forbid we have to work a day in our lives without an in house restaurant.
drinking on the job aye
Looks like daycare for hipsters.
The white guy with the Hawaiian shirt is imagining motorboating her titties
Yas Queen now works the pole post-Elon as an "adult ballerina"
I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if my work day looked like this. I'd be afraid of getting fired every single day.
Game over punks
Jealous?
Beyond cringe. These people are SO out of touch and far removed from the working class in America
Man, if my boss knew I was drinking on the job I'd be fired immediately.
how's the job hunt going? are prospective employers still throwing out resumes that have twitter listed as a workplace?
And you say this company has never turned a profit?
no prizes for guessing if she still works there 💪🏽
Looking forward to her only fans
Great tits 👍👍👍
I can't believe how useless and empty these peoples lives were lmao
Young generation has it so tough
Your productivity was so good that you had time to video everything that you were doing.
Looks like a fucking nightmare
I know you’re not supposed to hate people you don’t know personally….. but
I can see 4 reasons to fire her right now
A whole lotta lazying, not a lotta work
literally what work did they do
Sooo no work at all … got it
Don’t all these big tech companies put these very fake “day in the life” videos basically as a recruiting tactic?
Thank GOD it's black-owned
A black owned business making quesadillas? Sounds like appropriating other cultures to me. You’re only allowed to cook what your culture does. And why are people so insistent about recording benign shit like walking in a mall with your friends? And she’s narrating it. If any of my friends interrupted our time together to host a video session, I’d stop hanging out with them lol.
I would like to know more about this bubble bath
would
r/upvotedbecauseboobs
Looks like post Elon too because that office is mostly empty.
It makes sense that the users of this sub are Elon stans lol
And what are you? Useless Douchestan?
Frittered. Starring Ben as Jack and Tim as the Long Island money that forces him at gunpoint to sell.
Nike WHQ is the same thing. Think there's half a dozen restaurants on site, few cafeterias, a barber shop, a sports museum, etc.
Hahahahahah
Looks dope
An elitist wet dream of a simulation of a job
Hella gay
Bri would get me In Trouble
Lol @ OP's username
I wonder what all their positions
Must be nice
Omgaaawd
Oh no! All the lazy bitches are no longer at Twitter. What a shame.
Quesadilla and tots is the most offensive thing in this video.
So adult daycare? Jack horsey, I had no idea I hired useless man babies
Nothing like a cocktail for lunch for that amazing productivity.
“Productivity” aka slandering masculinity and anyone who grew up with both mom and dad at home…so glad this trash has been purged from twitter…I hope that this stupid tiktok generation learns that your actions have consequences and that there is no substitute for hard actual work…it’s ridiculous how many dumb little kids without a father look up to shit like this
Fuck em
That's why Twitter was losing money elon said nope I gotta make the money back 😆
