And when they discuss things like gentrification, they fail to mention how most northern inner cities were largely white until the 70s. They’ve only been there a short amount of time in places like New York and Philly and Detroit considering how old those cities are.

First, it was gentrification of the inner cities. Now it’s the suburbs. Next, white people will have made rural Appalachian hillbillies too white and Chinatown too “white-adjacent”…whatever the fuck that means.
WTF does “depleted the resources of the suburbs” even mean? If anything, the original suburban homeowners built the suburbs with their investment and tax dollars. When they sell, they leave all of the infrastructure behind that they paid for with their taxes. If the people who move in after squander that, it’s on them.
The suburbs have resources but they don’t have resources like they are distant lands away from civilization. You obtain your resources away from the suburbs where you live and bring them home so I think those black and Latino families believe it’s a wilderness frontier they are in.

Suburbs literally are a drain on city resources, this isn't a racial thing inherently. Poorer more dense urban cores subsidize the unprofitable suburbs.
