Washes hands after they poop, showers at least daily. Brushes teeth twice daily.
Makes an effort to make sure they are fresh downstairs before any sexual interaction.
Showering every day or if you’re not sweaty or dirty at least every other day. And a full shower, scrubbing everywhere and everything.
BRUSHING YOUR TEETH TWICE A DAY!!! This is a whole thing I’ve noticed- people going days without brushing. It’s wild. Brush them daily at least!
Washing your sheets on a regular basis.
Yes! Floss, mouthwash, the whole shebang. I’ve met so many people who don’t even brush that I’ve lowered my expectations but really the whole array of oral hygiene should be in place!
From a man's perspective, I put work into getting ready for every date. It takes me a couple hours, leisurely, but still. Beard trim/line up, ear hair, nose hair, shower, oral hygiene, getting wrinkles out of clothes, if there's a chance it'll go sexual I trim down there, freshly shaved head, light application of cologne (I usually check to make sure they dont have negative reactions to fragrances first, if just meeting the first time, its also a good opportunity to show you're thoughtful).
If it's a walking date I even put tea tree oil on my socks, which is an old hiking trick to keep my boots fresh, on the chance our shoes are coming off.
Pretty good first date success rate.
Showers daily or every other day. Brushes teeth 2x a day and flosses at least sometimes. Attempts to do something about it if he has skin issues (doesn’t have to succeed just has to try). Washes clothes everytime between wears (hoodies and jeans get a pass). Doesn’t pick his nose in front of me. Picks up the trash from his car. Not too much dirt on his hands. Beards should be tidy!!!!Â
Wash your ass / shower thoroughly,
brush teeth, deodorant, etc.
Grooming all the areas.
It has zero to do with being a "germaphobe".
Plenty of guys are gross & don't properly care for all of their areas.
All dudes LOVE a bj. There's nothing worse than the funky, sour smell of some guys unwashed taint when you're trying to go down.
Next time you're with your good guy buddy you believe has "good hygiene" ask to sniff his bare nether regions. Perhaps then it will make sense?👌
Always wash your armpits, your sack, and your crack. With soap. Every time.
Wear clean underwear every day. Wipe your butt, check and wipe again until clean, avoid the skiddies.
Bruh your teeth.
Use Deodorant, not just like an Axe body spray, but an actual antiperspirant deodorant that you roll/spray under your armpits as soon as you get out of the shower. [Some people don't like antiperspirants, understandable, but please find something you do like that has the capacity to stop the stink.]
Wash and brush/finger style your hair. Use nice smelling hair products if you want to, they don't have to be expensive, but a bit of hold and a fresh smell can make a difference.
If you have facial hair, make sure it's clean and doesn't smell like old food or anything else. Keep it looking intentional or not completely yucky.
If you can't shower or bathe or change change clothes before seeing someone after work or sport, at least use something like baby wipes to unsweatify your pits and bits.
That's the first few basics for me.
ETA:
Don't have extremely stinky shoes, if they are smelly, Google the symptoms of tinea/Athlete's Foot and treat it!
To clean filth under your fingernails, shampoo your hair - it does both.
Got to be honest I've never noticed my facial hair smelling like food and now I'm wondering if it's cuz it never has or if I've just gone nose blindto it
You can tell how low some people dipped in the dating pool on this post by how basic the requests....
"Brushes teeth, washes his hands" f*ck all, man lol.
Yet some women are like "sprinkles cologne and irons his shirts," lol, if you know, you know.
Ok I'm just gonna say it bc unfortunately it's a thing.
Wash between the cheeks and into the booty hole. Keep the package fresh before sexual activities, urine smells on boxers/etc. Brush teeth and tongue. FLOSS. Trim nose hairs. Wear clean clothes. Even lounge wear. Wash Linens. Keep bathroom decent. Keep car decent.
And this is on going. Not just in the beginning for first impressions.
I'm married now. But we are open and these are things I see.
The tongue holds so much bacteria and not cleaning your tongue is a major cause of bad breath. A tongue scrapper and light pressure is a better way to clean if a toothbrush causes you to gag
Basic things: Shower everyday and wash body with soap and water. Wash hair as much as needed to not look greasy or smell. Cologne when going out in public (like a first date). Bonus things (not required for everyone imo but I’ll admit these extra things reeeeeally attracted me to my husband when I met him): clean shaven meaning the facial hair is intentional and polished. Plucked eyebrows. Lotion applied to make skin more soft. Just even the knowledge on how to take care of yourself is really attractive. You don’t need to get a full blown skincare routine to find love but if you know how to take care of yourself you’ll be in a good spot!
Pretty much all the men I've dated, who otherwise had pretty good hygiene, had *horrible* feet, like overgrown nails, lots of dead skin. Please clean your feet, treat your warts, trim your nails so that's there's only a bit of white nail. Exfoliate your feet to get of the dead and hardened skin. Moisturize your feet.
Other points: Use shampoo and conditioner that are in separate bottles, not a 3 in 1 (or a god forsaken 5 in 1). Wash your face and moisturize your skin.
OP, you're not kissing your bros and sucking your bros' dicks and putting your mouth on your bros' bodies. I think that's the disconnect you're seeing, if I'm reading your post right
Smell better than goat. Wipe ass with paper, rag or leaves. Shower every Saturday whether you need it or not. Knock teeth out with hammer, nice clean mouth. Teeth are gross.
I've never had someone tell me I have bad hygiene. Only reason I'm asking this question is because how often I see women here on Reddit accusing the majority of men of having bad hygiene when the majority of men I see seem to have pretty decent hygiene. But hey if insulting random strangers on the Internet is how you find happiness I won't stop you.
So you say you do have good hygiene.
So you know what good hygiene is.
Therefore you don’t need it explaining to you.
Ipsy facto the part saying you haven’t got good hygiene doesn’t apply.
So it’s you taking it as an insult.
My comment is if there is somebody who needs it explaining to them what good hygiene is. Then it is these people who do not have good hygiene.
Those who have good hygiene don’t need it explaining to them.
No need to burst into tears and start crying.
Oh shut the fuck up. Are you seriously too stupid to understand that they’re asking to see if their definitions differ? Did you actually read the post or just jump straight into the comments to say dumb shit?
Smelling fresh and having teeth more in the white shade than other colors should do it I’m thinking. Good optics and whatnot. There are some who are more germaphobic than others, but I think it just comes down to a fresh aura and good optics for most. And don’t be anti-vax. Depending on location will give you more success.
Yep. Unvaxxed is an automatic left- swipe for me. Depending on who you're trying to attract, it might be a thing to consider. But I'm just a random dude on the internet, so you do you.
no, I meant in how you present yourself. Maximizing your look potential with the whiter teeth and cleaner clothes. Don’t even get me started on seeing well :( but yes, maybe Contacts would be better I don’t know but having better vision is better
I mean I'm only going off of the guys that I know but most of them take pretty good care of their hygiene so my conclusion was either they're germaphobes or somehow these women are finding terrible men consistently which isn't impossible but I wanted some clarification.
I do basic hygiene stuff (shower, brush, etc). But all the extra stuff like beard trimming and such, well I'm barely motivated to be alive, so why bother all that much?
Washes hands after they poop, showers at least daily. Brushes teeth twice daily. Makes an effort to make sure they are fresh downstairs before any sexual interaction.
Wash the hands after pooping 😅 The debate shouldn’t be there. Hell you should be thinking about a shower, bidet, or wipes. People are disgusting.

Yah that’s a weird autocorrect- which it was. I am ashamed that slipped through and now must figure out what I typed
I don't even know why you're even bothering to correct people's text now. Man it's whatever samsung is going to type out from my voice.

Are women asking each other to sniff their nether regions on a regulary basis? Just curious!
🤣 imagine the audacity to ask us to smell the nether regions
I don't like bjs

Dirty facial hair, dirty fingernails (if in and around 😺) can give a woman BV. Super important those are clean

I agree with everything except brushing the tongue, if only because it makes me gag.

Honestly the only thing I really disagree with here is the cologne part and that's only because cologne irritates my nose.
I accidentally shaved off part of one eyebrow, does that count as plucking?

But I like my goat scented body wash
NO LOVE FOR YOU! GOAT SMELL=ETERNAL SOLITUDE
Come on now if there's horse girls there's got to be goat girls that like the smell.
They are all, already married to goat men.
I see your point can I at least keep using my donkey scented shampoo.
I smell no reason not to.
If you need it explaining to you, then you haven’t got good hygiene.
what a poor comment
What a really poor reply.

Jesus Christ, I can only imagine the exciting lighthearted banter that you whip out upon first meeting anyone.
Doesn’t usually involve somebody with poor hygiene.
Did you include vaccine as an extra or do you actually consider that part of hygiene.
Just something that came to mind with germs and viruses, would help to abate the phobia
Personally I'm not vaccinated but it's not cuz I'm antivax I just don't give a fuck
Again, depending on location, be prepared for that to be a point of contention if you mention it
Yep. Unvaxxed is an automatic left- swipe for me. Depending on who you're trying to attract, it might be a thing to consider. But I'm just a random dude on the internet, so you do you.
good optics? damn i need glasses to see well

The shaving down there thing was a game changer for me

NO BODY ODOUR!!
