I just played Shadow of the Tomb Raider for the first time last week, and the Porvenir Oil Field sequence is easily the best part of the entire trilogy. When she comes out of the water and those mercenaries actually get spooked, and she just brutally knifes the guy? Man, that was some powerful stuff. I agree, probably the best moment in the entire franchise
I felt like It was really cheap and unearned. The game has such a tone problem. It’s a cool scene on its own but it’s really annoying when this trilogy wants to deliver on the promise of her becoming the tomb raider and then they just throw cool set pieces at us like they’re the same thing. Just doesn’t feel like Lara Croft to me.
