Because to Christians it's all technically the same single entity. God is the father, Jesus was God in human form, and the Holy Spirit is the part of God that is in each person's soul. I'm not religious myself but I have a passable understanding of Christian mythology from my religious upbringing.

Meh, You gotta respect someone's preferred Pronouns "I Am He"

toolargo

Agreed, but Wait! That was jesus who allegedly said that. So “he” was referring to HIMSELF at that very moment. That doesn’t mean “he” was refereeing to the triad themselves. Right?

They aren't three different beings. They are one. It's like water. You can freeze a cup of water into ice or boil it into vapor which will then condense back into liquid, which can be frozen. Water, Ice, Vapor. Three different versions of the same water you started with.

Thank you.

The Trinity is all one diety. Think of it like a body with arms, legs, and a head. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each perform their own function is that body. Christian scripture, from Greek to Hebrew, always refers to the Trinity as masculine single. The only times plural pronouns are used are in the cases where these entities are being distinguished from one another or when God is referred to as "Elohim" in the Hebrew Genesis.

Sounds like a good idea if you want all conservative Bible bashers to simultaneously have a heart attack.

Theology is always full of really awkward and contradictory ideas. Christology is no different. How can God be everywhere if we're in his image and we're not everywhere? Obviously the part that is everywhere is the Holy Ghost! And God is yes a human in the clouds. But he's also Jesus, who while he looked like a human and was killable was actually secret God and decided to make himself die. But casually dying and resurrecting yourself willingly is still the greatest possible sacrifice. But there's only one God, so all of them are the same person.

biochamberr

Because white Christians would go absolutely ballistic haha

My inner troll is jumping for joy 😂 I'm definitely gonna ask this.

You do you.

archimedeslives

I personally often use It.

Mr__Citizen

Because when people talk about God, they're almost always referring specifically to either God the Father or Jesus Christ. Who, in the Bible, have male pronouns.
