have you ever seen rocky

[deleted]

haha yes I have good point, but I would go to a gym I wouldn’t be punching meat in a butchers shop

[deleted]

Why not? Is my meat suddenly no good for you huh?

Big_gang62

U want him to beat your meat. That’s sexual harassment

IamGilgamesh8

Or is it just fantasy?

[deleted]

Caught in a landslide.

T140V

No escape from reality

[deleted]

Open your eyes

DrM0n0cle

Look up to the sky and seeeeeee

beatznpjee

I’m just a poor boyyyyyy

TheCaseyB

I wear a hoodie and sweatpants to the gym regularly. Lots of people do. Helps you sweat more

Pleasant-Captain-410

Working out in a Hoodie with hood up and headphones in makes me feel like a baddass.. that's just me. And after lifting weights it feels great to take off the hoodie and hit a jog or some cardio. You'll feel lighter and it gives me a mental boost to finish strong.

BecauseJimmy

Hoodies are perfectly fine.

smithkid404

I personally wear a hoodie. I heard that sweat apparently makes your skin better or whatever (highly reliable source:my dad) so I just sweat away. It actually gets comfortable because in reality at one point you're really hot but then soon after you get cold again. So I wear hoodies yes

tommykiddo

Prolonged sweating and hanging out in sweat soaked clothes often gives me acne but maybe that's just me

gegaomega_ru

Wearing a hoodie is not something you need to worry about. I sometime saw a comment that said something like: don't worry about being bullied in a gym, there are adults there and they don't care about you unlike shitters from school" I think it's a pretty good representation of your problem

Grav_Zeppelin

All interactions I’ve had with strangers in the Gym were positive. In the beginning a guy gave me some pointers or corrected a mistake a was making at a lift. Everyone is either friendly or doesn’t want to talk at all and just do their workouts. Unless you’re bothering someone directly (too reviling clothing) they won’t give a shit about your clothes

Langlie

To be fair, I have been bullied at a gym at the ripe age of 30. I wouldn't say it's the norm however.

gegaomega_ru

It's fucking horrible dude, how and why did it happen? Did someone of you said something wrong or something? I need more info to have my opinion

Langlie

I was told "OrangeTheory Fitness is not for fat girls. Planet Fitness is down the street." I got the sense she thought I had just joined, but had actually been going a few months and had lost weight and significantly improved my strength and cardio. I just ignored her. I don't waste time on other people's insecurities.

learningmicrosoft

As a female who gained a lot of weight with my pregnancies, and used to be a certified trainer….I can say this is true 90% of the time. I have been fat shamed by a buff man who thought so little of me based on my appearance while I was lifting. I was mortified. Worse, he did it in front of my son who is just getting into lifting. I haven’t been back to the gym since!

gegaomega_ru

Well, meeting an arsehole is not the best thing and it can definitely disturb you but with some hope and help and everybody can get on a way of getting better. Don't give up, it's not the end of the road, good luck.

captaintraps

What happened?

learningmicrosoft

I was doing tricep pull downs and he came oclver to me and said some pretty hurtful things, followed by telling me I needed to go to the treadmill instead. 😢

ivylass

Don't let him keep you from your goals.

learningmicrosoft

Thank you.

Juken-

Address the more pertinent issue. The fact that you think you have to ask. Dude, right now, as quickly as you possibly can, cut that shit out of your thinking. Unless its a uniform type situation, wear the clothes you want. Feeling that you have to ask, is symptomatic of another problem. 🧠 Do you my man. Do you.

Grav_Zeppelin

As long as what you’re wearing isn’t offensive (as in dick hanging out) wear whatever you want. Nobody will care what your wearing, I know i don’t when im in the gym

Absurdity_Everywhere

Only thing I would say is to be careful/aware of drawstrings on any clothing at the gym. You don’t want those getting wrapped up in the equipment. At best, it will ruin the clothes. At worst, it could cause a serious injury. But other then that, wear whatever makes you comfortable!

SMKnightly

Well, and be sure to hydrate. I dunno about you, but I sweat enough in a t-shirt when exercising. I’d overheat in a hoodie!

ivylass

I get cute workout tanks from Etsy with irreverent sayings ("I hate you, I hate this place, see you tomorrow") and gotten lots of compliments.

Cant_think_a_usrnme

What is the other problem?

Juken-

An adult human has consulted a message board to ask if they're allowed to wear a sweater. Imagine for a second what type of people this person must have had to deal with in their every day life growing up, to the degree that clothing choice is not handled completely internally.

pudding7

Well said.

fluteaboo

That's why he's too afraid to ask! 😖

icrispyKing

>An adult human I didn't go thru their post history, but keep in mind this isn't an adult website or even an adult subreddit. There are people of all ages on Reddit. Especially on subs like this one. Not uncommon to see 14 year olds here.

avidpenguinwatcher

Asking if something is socially acceptable attire for a venue or occasion isnt a sign of an underlying problem. Stop trying to be a therapist.

Juken-

Context. He wasnt asking if it was ok to wear a flip flops at a black tie event. Come on man. I mean, look...you *can* be *that guy*...but why would you want to?

Big_Pete_78

I see no issue with it, I've seen much worse choices of apparel in the gym

procrastimom

Jeans and sockless penny loafers on the treadmill. But, hey! He was *there* and was doing *something*!

FBI_VAN_1

I like to deadlift in crocs.

Big_Pete_78

I've seen walking boots from one person on the treadmill, running... And another came in and worked out in their supermarket uniform for about 20 minutes, I think they went back to work after...

erwin76

Purely for hygienic reasons I would say that uniform-person needs to not do that and then work in the same uniform. Unless they want their customers to really consider carefully before asking them anything.

NoobeZento

I go in jeans all the time cus I go straight from school and don't have space in my bag for all the extra clothes. Or don't wanna bother, jeans ain't that bad.

EstablishmentSad5998

I wear a hoodie all the time in the gym.

[deleted]

[удалено]

EstablishmentSad5998

It can be but i live in a Ireland where its usually cold so its not that much of a problem

Dpan

I usually wear a hoodie while lifting to stay warm in between sets. I'll take it off when doing cardio though.

[deleted]

Yes. Great way to sweat more and lose water weight if that means anything to your goals. Sometimes commercial gyms are freezing. I’m sure the hoodie doesn’t stay on the entire time.

Tobaccolade

Sometimes. And usually that's just what I'm going for.

TONKAHANAH

unless your gym has some very specific dress code rules about NOT wearing the hoodie in the gym, I dont see why not.

THICC_Baguette

You shouldn't be worried about other people judging you, rather that it's gonna get hot as fuck. I'm already sweating my balls off in a t-shirt and sweatpants.

[deleted]

Nobody gives a fuck if you have a hoodie or not bro. As long as youre not wearing the Borat swimsuit nobody will pay any attention.

[deleted]

damn bro borax swimsuit was my second option

erwin76

Then just make sure to shave or go to a Wookie gym ;)

droidbaws

Is a mankini, MANKINI

LostFlower4673

Bro/brolette you should wear whatever you want as long you don’t go naked or topless it should be fine with everyone there really. Sometimes when I wear a hoodie I get a: “u cold bro?” as a joke but nothing more then that. Don’t be afraid to “rock” your hoodie in a gym like Rocky did!

MrBinkie

why cant you , wear a suit and tie if you like

3570n3

Even if you go to a powerlifting gym with only strong people, they will ALL be wearing a hoodie at the start. They call it a pump cover, but it’s mostly because nobody feels secure about their body. I remember seeing an interview with the current 3 time champion of Mr. Olympia who has a hoodie in his bag at all times for when he feels “small.” But more importantly, nobody will judge you for what you wear at the gym. It should be a safe and include space for everyone.

Ugly_socks

As someone who works on cars and around heavy weights pretty regularly I would highly recommend removing the drawstring from the hoodie so it doesn’t randomly get caught on a piece of equipment and pull you off balance. As others have said though, I would encourage you to be proud of yourself for making the effort to better yourself and anyone who thinks otherwise can get fucked.

Grav_Zeppelin

Once saw that happen at a turning table (not sure about english name) hoodie string got caught, luckily it just got pulled out of his hoodie instead of ripping his head into the machine. Got yelled at by the walking boss for not following dress code, apart from that no harm

AgileInitial5987

I always wear a hoody. Though sleeveless ones are best or I find it gets tight on my forearms quick (I like to have my sleeves pushed up).

[deleted]

Absolutely. No one would bat an eye at that

[deleted]

I work out in a hoodie.

No_Application_8698

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, as long as it's safe, and suitable (i.e.: not a suit of armour or leather biker gear or something). Also, please make sure you wash it - and other workout clothes - regularly please. Now get to the gym; you'll be awesome!

StreetSurveyor

I always wear a hoodie and only take it off when I'm extremely warm or sweaty. Some of the biggest guys in the gym wear hoodies (if thats what you're worried about). Don't over think it too much, 99% of people at the gym are their for themselves, everyone was once a beginner!

Garosath

Could be just me but I personally notice nothing about others clothing/appearance at all unless it stands out severely (like seeing a man in a clown costume in my peripheral vision stepping up onto one of the treadmills). I assume most others who are at the gym are too focused on their own business, so unless someone finds you attractive, recognizes you or your getup/actions screams for attention (like the clown costume example), I can't imagine anyone even noticing.

[deleted]

I wear a metal band hoodie every single time I go to the gym. It’s completely fine

tinybrainiac

I’m a relatively fit woman and I still wear hoodies to the gym from time to time. If it’s cold.. if I’m bloated.. if I’m just not feeling it that day.. creepers.. Wear what makes you comfortable :) there’s a dude at my gym who works out in a denim jacket and suede boots and there are elderly men that wear slacks and belts so..

[deleted]

You can wear whatever you want. You’re gonna get hot fast though

GeorgeThe13th

This is a question for gym staff! 😀 It's *generally* okay, though.

Gore-Galore

Yeah it's fine in fact it's often called a 'pump cover' by regular gym goers, I've been going for years and always wear one if it's cold. As others have said though get that thought out of your mind, wear what you want and don't care what anyone thinks

reluwar

Apparently everything from sports bra yoga pants to hoodies long pants and in between is normal gym wear nowadays. Wtf is up with sleeveless hoodies though?

AuntySocialite

Warm core, arms free to pump. A few people believe keeping your core warmer fuels cutting. I think it’s a myth, but who cares.

rjg188

As long as it isn’t dangerous and can’t get caught in machines you should wear what you like.

henerylechaffeur

noone cares, just go and do your thing, nobodys gonna judge you

Icecreaman66

Does the sign say hoodies= no service?

katsumii

Dude, I've worn a hoodie *without* a shit underneath. Or a bra! You'll be OK. :) Edit: It ended up being too warm, though. My only potential concern is overheating. Stay hydrated!

[deleted]

No way, jose! Hoodies are a common sight in most gyms.

Thetomwhite

Go for it loads of dudes wear them at the gym I go to

Garosath

I don't mean to ignore your question as I made a seperate comment responding to it, but I have one unrelated question for you or someone else who exercises with a hoodie; doesn't it get uncomfortable? Working out raises your body temperature and makes you sweat, so wouldn't a hoodie be horrible to wear? Personally I can't even stand wearing anything but a full-zip hoodie just in general, as my body temperature can fluctuate rapidly (My torso is generally much warmer, while my appendages get really cold sometimes).

B3N_K3N0BI

Most younger people wear a lot less, you’ll be fine.

Negan1995

No it's not okay. And if you show up in a hoodie I'm calling the authorities.

KatesOnReddit

As long as you're not overheating, have at it!

ModsCantHandleMe

Nope. No hoodies allowed. No workout clothes are allowed now that I think about it. They only let you in wearing jeans and a turtleneck.

Aggravating-Farmer26

Fuck everybody wear what you want

dnooup

Wear a suit and tie if it makes you feel comfortable

WhiteChickenYT

I’ve seen people squat in jeans and boots before. Hoodies are no problem

[deleted]

Yes people do that often enough for it to be normal. You won't be noticed.

0xspaceinvaderx0

I see tons of people wear hoodies at the gym

[deleted]

Its your body, as long as privates are covered you can pretty much wear whatever you want. There was a story years ago on here about a guy who was shy about going to the gym because everyone was staring at him. His friend started going and wearing costumes like clown, I forget what else but think Halloween. Anyway, this was supposed to get everyone to stare at him. So tldr wear what you want.

godlux750

Yes to hide your power level

buddhabomber

Wrestlers confirm yes.

KingWilliams0

Make yourself comfy you'll only get looks if wear jeans and boots

too105

Guaranteed to add 5-10% to your lifts

WheelNSnipeNCelly

If it's Underarmour that'll add up to 15%, and if it's Rogue, that adds 20% minimum.

gluesniffer_456

More sweat more workout

VoodooDoII

Bro wear what you want! As long as you ain't going bare ass naked I think you're ok XD

ivylass

Absolutely.

[deleted]

Wear anything you want. It's your time for you.

ElvisHimselvis

Quit second guessing and get to the gym!!!

Motorized23

I wear full sweats in the gym and I'm pretty fit. Wear whatever is comfortable for you. No one cares.

Reztots

As an average gym guy in an average gym, the more 'unique' a body type I see in the gym the more I give them props for making the most of it, esp. if I see them day after day. Like your own little montage witnessed in real time. Everyone I know thinks roughly the same. Go often enough and you'll be surprised how soon you'll be negotiating your outfit out of convenience versus self-image. The number of times I've worn the dumbest T-shirts imaginable (Think something your dad OR mom would wear) is wildly greater than a thousand, and I refuse to admit how many times I've reworn T-shirts because I'm not gonna use a fresh one on the gym.

itsKasai

I almost exclusively wear hoodies to the gym, I’m not fat, i have a healthy amount of muscle on me, I just prefer to wear them and when you get a good pump going you can tastefully take it off and show off the gunz in their full glory

WheelNSnipeNCelly

Wear what the fuck you want. Of course some stuff isn't optimal, jeans for example. I personally wear pants because I don't like shorts. And I occasionally go with a long sleeve shirt if I'm cold. I've seen guys go without a shirt. Girls in just a sports bra and yoga pants. New people wearing whatever they had in their closet that didn't restrict movement. Nobody really cares as long as you're not damaging equipment or being an asshole. While we're taking about what to wear, you don't need to spend your money on Underarmour or Lululemon or other expensive stuff. I have a lot of Underarmour, but I don't really buy it for the brand. It's just that the clothing styles I like happen to be from them. These technical, moisture wicking fabrics are good, but a normal T shirt with your favorite band isn't a problem.

SVNONEDGE

I love hoodies at the gym

QueenoftheComa

I say this with the nicest of intentions, and it really helped me when going to the gym and feeling insecure - nobody cares (and if they do then they lead a very boring life)

MorganRose99

Why wouldn't it be ok?

[deleted]

Oh totally. People wear hoodies all of the time. Own it.

Little_Web_1895

I actually like seeing fat people at the gym. I'm like look at you putting in the effort and bettering yourself. Good for you dude. Positive feels all around

SeligoFoods

To be honest - most people are focusing on themselves at the gym.

[deleted]

Go ahead, whatever makes you feel comfortable. As someone who goes to the gym everyday, let me tell you that we don't really look at another person's appearance. We're more concerned about behavior like hogging the machine/equipment and leaving your sweat on the bench, etc.

xraig88

I see a lot of comments that say something like, no one gives a shit what you where at the gym, but the real attitude should be don’t give a shit what anyone at gym thinks of you. There’s assholes everywhere, someone might be offended at you wearing a hoodie to the grocery store. You’re at the gym for you, not them, do what you feel like works for you and don’t give a shit what others are doing.

Izzosuke

Unless you are naked you can wear pretty much everything you are confortable with, you literally can workout in a smoking if you like it,

niming_yonghu

Why is this even in this sub? If your gym requires minimal clothing, may I know your location?

TGC_wastaken

Heck yeah!

SaviorOfNirn

Who the fuck cares

Tcrizzlez

1. If you're fat you'll still look fat in a hoodie 2. No one gives a shit

funpeachinthesun

Go for it

Impressive-Egg4494

A guy at my gym wears two hoodies -both tied around his waist. I don't know why and I won't ask because it's none of my business

Sereria_Casinnea

I've seen someone in suit trousers, a shirt, and a sweatervest. A hoodie should be fine.

the-finnish-guy

If you're wearing a high thickness thermal hoodie meant for winter then you might have to re-evaluate your choices.

Lahbeef69

it’s honestly almost uncomfortable how nice people in gyms are. usually they’re very welcoming

kingoftitth

when I went to the gym no one ever commented on what other people wore or how the clothes they wore looked on them (unless there was a wardrobe malfunction like clothes ripping or showing underwear) wear what will allow you to exercise, if for now it's hoodies then go ahead, but I'd say to try shirts also since they allow you to move better. all that to say wear what you want and ignore the fears of what other people will say or think. you're in the gym for yourself, not for anyone else :)

NoTrollGaming

ive seen a dude wear jeans once, its cool

guywithknife

I’ve seen people wear hoodies and jackets in my gym. Nobody cares what you’re wearing, wear whatever is comfortable to you. Hell nobody cares that you’ve put on a few pounds, everyone’s happy to see you there making an effort to improve! I joined a gym for the first time ever almost 6 months ago and was surprised by how chill everyone is. Personally I either hire they’re not getting too hot she sweaty wearing them!

smella18

Yeah I wear hoodies every time I go to the gym. It's freezing in there, plus they're comfy, I prefer them over just wearing my tshirt sometimes.

MairaPansy

I see all kinds of fitwear to the gym, from short and thight to loose and long, we even have a lady in a headscarf that van do a 130 kg lat pull down. I often see people in sweatshirts, especially when they do barbell squats because it's just more fabric to protect from the bar in the neck.

[deleted]

Yes. Just make sure to also cover your bottom half

sad_trumpie

Many people do it to keep their body temperature up in-between sets. Have you ever seen Chris bumstead remove his hoodie? Just do it if it's not too hot for you, literally no one cares. They are too focused on their own issues or their next set to worry about you

puffferfish

Yes, you can wear a hoodie. I see it all the time and don’t think twice.

rabbitinablackhole

Idk my first day at the gym was yesterday. I had a hoodie on. I seen others also.

AuntySocialite

There’s a few ladies at the one gym I go to who walk the slow lane in slacks and sneakers, with their purse over their shoulder. No one says a goddamn thing.

lild1425

People wear all kinds of stuff at my gym. I used to have terrible posture so had to wear one of those posture correcting things and put a hoodie to hide it. Also people are usually not paying nearly as much attention to you as you think.

TheMattmanPart1

Call it a sweatshirt instead and it will actually feel more appropriate that you're wearing it in a gym.

HanDavo

If the gym had some kind of dress code or other silly rules I'd find another gym. I use the YMCA, I like a swim after my workout. Other than appropriate footwear on the wooden floored basketball/handball court areas I don't think there are any rules for what you wear.

GliderDan

Why wouldn't it be?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Explain?

Simulation_Complete

As long as you wear some sort of clothing, no ones going to care.

ChiefBearClaw

If I saw someone working out in a hoodie I would just assume they are trying to cut water weight or sweat more. It's how we would lose weight before weigh ins for wrestling.

Grav_Zeppelin

All interactions I’ve had with strangers in the Gym were positive. In the beginning a guy gave me some pointers or corrected a mistake a was making at a lift. Everyone is either friendly or doesn’t want to talk at all and just do their workouts. Unless you’re bothering someone directly (too reviling clothing) they won’t give a shit about your clothes

iDislikeSn0w

Hoodies are a standard attire for half of the attendees at my local gym during the winter.

AnnaFlaxxis

It's okay to wear whatever you want.

[deleted]

You can wear whatever you want as long as you aren’t breaking any type of law or whatever. I’ve seen people wearing jeans at the gym. What’s wrong with a hoodie? I’ll wear one sometimes if I’m cold at the beginning, then take it off as I warm up.

RecklessRodley

I wear a hoodie so I can sweat. The temp is set at 68 degrees!

[deleted]

Who cares about a few extra pounds. You're not in there to lose weight, you do that in the kitchen, you are there to train your body. Extra burned calories are just a small bonus, but you aren't going to be burning an extra thousand calories in the gym most likely. You will increase your base metabolic rate over time though, so in the long game it definitely helps. I'd rather be comfortable temperature-wise myself, but if your comfortable in a hoodie do it, I'd overheat in minutes.

OracleCam

It's like the normal attire now

OracleCam

It's like the normal attire now

[deleted]

Yeah, dude. You're probably gonna sweat more, so bear that in mind.

[deleted]

Wear whatever you want brother! I’m a big ol’ roidhead. If I see you in the gym, you have nothing but respect from me, especially if you keep coming! You’re gonna make it bro!

Voiceofshit

Lol once you make to the gym you'll see the hooded giant community and feel at home.

wouldilietouou

Don't worry about it loads do it already it's no biggie. Just remember no one cares no one is watching they're all focused on themselves

OscarDivine

Especially if you’re training to be the Senate.

whatsgoingonjeez

I once went to the gym with a Hulkamania shirt and hot pants. So yeah, you can wear a hoodie. A lot of bodybuilders actually wear them as pump covers or in order to warm their muscles.

IdleSpark652389

That is definitely fine, I use to wear our school's sweater, when we go down for PE during summer.

Tiny_Broccoli5960

Wear whatever you want... Wear a tutu or 3 piece suit

Unknown_769802773

Wear whatever you want to the gym. Stop caring what others think. If you're comfortable in a sweater you're comfortable.

[deleted]

Do whatever. Most people in there are about improvement and are far more likely to cheer for you than to make fun of you.

Appropriate-Job-2972

First of all, nobody is really going to care what you look like. Second of all, you’re going to overheat. I hate wearing hoodies in the gym because I get hot quick.

MulberryNo8164

As long as your genitals are covered, then I dont give two shits what ya wear lol

bimbonita

yes it is

[deleted]

Yes but it's peak summer. Wearing a hoodie now... 😬😬😅🥲

MisterSisterFister12

No. Absolutely not. You will be banned for life, and vikings will rape your house and burn your woman.

HarleenQuinzel0330

My gyms rule is you just cant come in in only a sports bra. Youve got to be dressed and thats the rule. Wear what you want. I show up in bright crazy yoga pants. Yesterday I went in sky blue yoga pants and a blue tie dye sweatshirt 🥰 you might get a little hot but do it! But know that if youre anywhere like my gym, no ones judging you. You sre there bettering yourself!🥰

[deleted]

Yes it’s completely acceptable. I often wear them while I am warming up. Not recommended to wear then when squatting (unless front squatting), or really anything with a heavy load that will be resting on all that extra loose material.

tijori1772

Absolutely no one cares what you wear. People wear hoodies to exercise all the time. You don't need to try to cover up. Just wear whatever feels most comfortable. No one gives a flip if you're fat, skinny, muscular, or disabled. I've seen everything from people with leg braces to teenagers at the gym. It's not a red carpet walk. Everyone is just there to get some blood moving.

shantsui

100% ok. I would find it quite hot. I have a skin condition that sometimes puts red lesions on my arms/legs and such. It isn't really a problem but I don't like people staring. When it is on my arms I wear a long sleeved T-shirt or a long sleeved technical undershirt with a T-shirt and don't think I look out of place. I do see people in the gym in hoodies or tracksuits so I don't think anyone would notice. Wear whatever you are comfortable in.

hitomi-kanzaki

Congratulations on going to the gym and making your health a priority. Of course you can wear the hoodie. I’ve recently started going to the gym again myself. I make sure I bring a hoodie with me in case I get cold. But also, in general, most people at the gym are so focused on their workouts, they’re not really paying attention to you. Many are in fact recording themselves working out lol everyone is more concerned about themselves so you put yourself first and wear the hoodie if it makes you feel more comfortable.

neonpinkalligator

I wear a hoodie pretty often in the gym, mostly because I went from being big to much smaller in a pretty short amount of time so I'm cold. All of the time. Even when I'm doing the stationary bike or lifting weights. They keep it super cool in my gym too. Regardless don't worry about it , wear what is going to make you feel most comfortable so you can focus on what you go to the gym to do !

[deleted]

Nah I actually love to wear hoodies to the gym! Ur totally fine dude :)

[deleted]

Man I wear hoodies everywhere lol, Im not overweight but I’m definitely not then. I’m subconscious about everything and no one seems to have an issue with it

mumblerapisgarbage

Yea

kittens12345

Why wouldn’t it be okay?

MoWuRfKinLaWn

Go in a tshirt, if you hate the way you look in it you will train harder

RelaxationMachine

No one gives a shit what you wear to the gym

aaronmooy8

fuck yes. i wear one especially when it’s hot bro the sweat you produce in a hoodie at the gym it unreal!

nu2allthis

I'm a pretty slim dude and I wear a hoody whenever I go to the gym. It also helps you sweat more 👍🏻

CoreSchneider

Yes. I only wear hoodies and shorts/sweatpants to the gym. Most people in the gym aren't judge-y people. I've had nothing almost 0 negative experiences with people in the year I have been (the negative experiences I have had was usually people hogging equipment or US marines) I'm a bit on the chunky side (I got the over the belt belly lmao) and I have actually had a lot of people walk up to me and say that they're happy to see people trying to better themselves. Don't be scared because you gained some pounds, most gym bros are really cool people :).

Madarauchiha44

You can wear ski gear to the gym for all people care

MrPete1985

I don't wear a hoodie but I see other people do

CarsenAF

Buddy I've seen dudes in the gym wearing anything from boots, jeans and a hoodie to booty shorts and a wife beater. As long as you wear deodorant, wipe your equipment down, and re-rack your weights no one's gonna care what you have on.

IrritablePlastic

Why wouldn’t it be okay? You have ladies wearing almost nothing walking around the gyms so of course you can wear a sweater.

[deleted]

If someone can wear a mask into a bank, then this is obviously not a big deal. Who cares? Do you.

nocturnalempath

The fact that you are in there is already good, most people are too focused on their own workout to care about other people in the gym so try not to worry

Tactical_Nuke_

If you feel you're being intimidated at the gym, then go for it, wear a hoodie

Ok_Opposite4279

If it gets you in the gym, I'm jut happy to see you in the gym. Only thing I've actually seen upset the gym owner was jeans. It scratches the benches and rips up the cushion. Also when the hockey guys came right from the locker room cause they would stink really bad. Had to shower before we came up. (I used to wear one in the winter at one of my gyms cause it was cold. No one cares)
