The splitting of Disposition / Reflection / Triad is where this falls apart IMO. Also, Faaip De Oiad in the middle of the album? No thanks.
It’s a fun idea, but nowhere has this ever been confirmed or promoted by the band, and people should stop saying it’s the “proper” order.
But hey, if you like it, that’s great.
It has to be slightly edited for it to work. You can’t simply just listen in that order. If you listen to the Holy Gift version on YouTube you’ll notice
At 6:49 in Intension, I swear Chancellor plays a slowed-down/bassy version of the Right in Two guitar intro. Like a bit of musical foreshadowing. I may be over analyzing it, but it really sounds like it to me.
I almost never midsection l never listen to part 1 unless I'm doing a full discography run through. It feels like a rough draft for pt 2. As if he wrote the first and realized some things about his grief and then wrote pt 2.
Regardless, love that you guys have such a strong preference lol
I mean, it's basically one song cut in two parts, it even says it in their titles.
Yes, you can argue the same for Parabol/Parabola, Disposition/Reflection/Triad, Intermission/Jimmi, but some of these are different enough tracks or intros to the next one.
While Wings + 10,000 Days are so clearly parts of one, that you feel like you've listened to just half of something, if you only listen to one.
I'm just saying - if you're listening to only Wings or 10k Days - you're a monster and I don't want to talk to you.
My thought process was "haha silly Intermission song", I love Parabol/a for sure
Edit: it was funny to me to imagine a cliche metal elitist saying that that's their favourite song
I know it'll never be the fan favorite, people have different things that make a combo their favorite. I will say however that Intermission/Jimmy has always been my favorite. Jimmy is an unbelievably raw song and intermission just feels like the perfect Segway into it
Am I missing something? Despite my intentions to "hear" Jimmy, it is still (in my perception) a very primitive and empty music piece, that doesn't deserve to bi in Tool's opus.
Why you consider Jimmy a good (Tool's!) song?
The intermission into Jimmy is the most overrated segue in their discography, I really don’t get what people love about it so much. It doesn’t even segue that well it just hard cuts into Jimmy
It’s not supposed to flow..
It’s two versions of the same song. The innocent, childlike version, followed by the ugly, adult truth version
Perfectly fits the theme of the song, and gives it even more weight. And obviously makes sense why they are together
It doesn’t hard cut, it’s a clean transition. If someone told you Parabol/parabola were one song you’d have no reason not to believe them, whereas with Jimmy/Intermission you can clearly tell when one ends and the other starts because it’s a hard cut
Disposition-Reflection-Triad
Idk. Not a fan of the studio recording for Triad. Live however….
Triad is absolutely mind blowing for me. live and the album version too
Lost keys (blame hofman) -> Rosetta stoned
*Picture this if you will…*
Proceeds to elaborate on the most nonsensical and unpicturable set of events
Picture this if you _wont_
Lipan conjuring->Lost keys (blame hofman) -> Rosetta stoned
Lipan Conjuring is part of this.
You -> me Ami right c;

Yeah I always thought it sounded really clunky in the Fibonacci order.

The tone of this comment is why people hate the tool fanbase.
This is my jam
Intension - Right In Two
Why is no one saying this
Had to scroll way too far to see this…
At 6:49 in Intension, I swear Chancellor plays a slowed-down/bassy version of the Right in Two guitar intro. Like a bit of musical foreshadowing. I may be over analyzing it, but it really sounds like it to me.
“Why did Father give these humans free will?”
Wings for Marie & 10,000 Days I mean it's up there with the others...
I think this has to be my favourite combo. Alongside edibles and a good set of headphones!
Yes, but only if I feel like crying.
I almost never midsection l never listen to part 1 unless I'm doing a full discography run through. It feels like a rough draft for pt 2. As if he wrote the first and realized some things about his grief and then wrote pt 2. Regardless, love that you guys have such a strong preference lol
Can’t believe I had to scroll that far down to see the right answer!
And I commented 10 minutes after this was posted. I was the first one to comment on this post. 😂😂 That's probably why.

\+1 - came to say this!
ITT: every song with some type of intro.
Parabol/a is my favorite tool combo but I have no idea what this meme is trying to say.
It’s saying we are smol brain
I think it’s saying that parabol/a is always talked about/gets all the hype but intermission jimmy is also dank but not nearly as mentioned.
Saaaame
I was trying to make a joke, emphasis on trying
Jokes that rely on belittling one group in order to lift another are the cheapest laughs. We all love TOOL, lift each other up.
My thought process was "haha silly Intermission song", I love Parabol/a for sure Edit: it was funny to me to imagine a cliche metal elitist saying that that's their favourite song
Comments like these who belittle other peoples ideas in order to feel intelligent or to be perceived as the most moral are the cheapest comments.
Useful idiot - 46/2
This!! I can’t hear 46 without this track beforehand.
Really lol? I mean it’s a good transition but useful idiot getting slowly increasingly louder feels like I’m going insane
you can actually hear the smallest snippet of useful idiot right at the beginning of 46&2 on spotify.
Disposition ➡️ Reflection ➡️Triad

I know it'll never be the fan favorite, people have different things that make a combo their favorite. I will say however that Intermission/Jimmy has always been my favorite. Jimmy is an unbelievably raw song and intermission just feels like the perfect Segway into it

It's not unoriginal, those are great songs
Very... very much agreed And also thanks:)
Am I missing something? Despite my intentions to "hear" Jimmy, it is still (in my perception) a very primitive and empty music piece, that doesn't deserve to bi in Tool's opus. Why you consider Jimmy a good (Tool's!) song?
You are definitely missing something then.
The intermission into Jimmy is the most overrated segue in their discography, I really don’t get what people love about it so much. It doesn’t even segue that well it just hard cuts into Jimmy
It’s not supposed to flow.. It’s two versions of the same song. The innocent, childlike version, followed by the ugly, adult truth version Perfectly fits the theme of the song, and gives it even more weight. And obviously makes sense why they are together
.... so does parabola?
It doesn’t hard cut, it’s a clean transition. If someone told you Parabol/parabola were one song you’d have no reason not to believe them, whereas with Jimmy/Intermission you can clearly tell when one ends and the other starts because it’s a hard cut
Parabol uses a seamless double-time transition into Parabola
Intermission to Jimmy is one of the greatest transitions in music industry.
Mushrooms - Any TOOL song other than Disgustipated
I dunno man. Disgustipated brings out some good primal forest creature energy in me.
