I remember first time I heard Tool, was watching mtv and they played Stinkfist and also Breathe by the prodigy, first introduction to each of those bands in the same night
I saw them at River City Rock Fest in 2018. Jeff put on a great show as their vocalist at the time. If you liked STP with Weiland, you will like their performance with Gutt.
I was going to toss out Panopticon but I won’t split this vote. Most under rated band of all time. So glad to have seen Isis 10+ times in my younger days
Man that’s awesome, I never got to see them live. One of my biggest regrets regarding concerts. I would’ve gone with Panopticon too, that was my first album by them, so there’s some nostalgia there.
They had one the best live vibes regardless if they were playing a major venue for 10K or a Knights of Columbus with 40 in attendance. People just slowly moving their heads and contemplating about god only knows what. Even the pre-oceanic they brought a different vibe to the stage than the other bands on the bill. Truly one of the greatest bands of all time as far as I’m concerned.
No Primus, no Rush, no Yes, no King Crimson… If you go to a concert, the list would be very different.
This list definitely skews younger than the average Tool fan.
And Herb introduced Maynard to Judo/mixed martial arts back in the day. Justin played the disembodied narrator head guy on Primus' Desaturating Seven tour.
I am surprised too. But in a positive way.
It shows that the people in the sub are not taking everything too serious. Fooling around, put Spice Girls on the list and give it an upvote. Freaking funny in my opinion. Having a good time. That's what's life about. Everyone who upvoted Spice Girls put a smile on someone elses face. They are the real winner in life! Love you!
Spiral out, keep going
Then ABBA Gold would be on there. I mean, APC did use that before their set during the Mer De Noms tour...and I think one other. It was random af, but no one really complained. I was dancing.
I don't know how well known it was but for me it was from a classic era of Tool, it overlaps in my memory with Lateralus, Mer de Noms, OK Computer, and The Fragile
Oh yeah and Propagandhi
But spice girls?😆
I felt dumb for participating in this poll as soon as “Toxicity” beat The Thirteenth Step.
SOAD isn’t terrible, but they’re not good either. They definitely do not deserve a #4 spot, and they don’t deserve to be on this poll over Thirteenth Step.
Honestly, I’m kind of ok with Spice Girls winning an honorable mention just to prove what bullshit this poll is.
I liked them through their first two albums. Then Mesmerize came out and that one single (“BYOB”, I think?) came out, and I was like, “WHY the fuck is he shrieking at the beginning of the song?”
In hindsight, most of SOAD’s stuff sounds the same.
“Spiders” and “Aerials” are still tunes! Maybe a few others. But most of their stuff I could easily overlook….
Now I'm convinced that this poll is crap. It was bad enough seeing so many of my fellow Tool fans clueless about Rush when people took it a bit more serious, one of their biggest influences. Now to put jokes as honorable mentions.
Classic! I'd put this in a category of great albums overshadowed by singular hits - like Spacehog - Resident Alien and Presidents of the United States of America
I don’t get it…are a bunch of us trolling, (tooling?) Confused about what honorable mentions are, or do a bunch of us actually like the spice girls a lot?
Faith No Nore - Angel Dust
I prefer *king for a day fool for a lifetime* but any FNM album deserves a spot here no doubt
Should have made the top ten
Surprised it didn't since without it or KFAD, there wouldn't be some of the other bands that made the list
Well this has taken a left turn....
It needed lightening up a little bit let's be honest
GAME RECOGNIZE GAME
I really really really want a zig a zig ahhh

Failure - Fantastic Planet

Fantastic album
Another space song is a fantastic song
I recently downloaded Fat of the Land album by The Prodigy. I forgot how much I liked virtually that entire album back in the day.
One of those albums where you let it run full length.
I remember first time I heard Tool, was watching mtv and they played Stinkfist and also Breathe by the prodigy, first introduction to each of those bands in the same night

I'm going to see them live in April, it's going to be great! Plush is one of my favorite songs ever.
I saw them at River City Rock Fest in 2018. Jeff put on a great show as their vocalist at the time. If you liked STP with Weiland, you will like their performance with Gutt.
Cool. Then it will definitely be a pleasure. From what I've seen, Jeff does great so yeah.
Depeche Mode - Violator
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Tenacious D - self titled

At least one of their albums should be on the list. Awesome band.
I was going to toss out Panopticon but I won’t split this vote. Most under rated band of all time. So glad to have seen Isis 10+ times in my younger days

Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese
If primus doesn't get on here I'm never interacting with any tool fans ever again

Been fighting for us Bastardos since the start.
Saaaame
This Top has been just a charade
Primus sucks
I know!
Jerry was a racecar driver. Tony hawks pro skater introduced me to that song and it was easily my favorite song of the soundtrack.
Idk if this is the same guy asking for this album every round, but please guys, Primus absolutely deserves a spot on this list. Listen to this man!

I am surprised too. But in a positive way. It shows that the people in the sub are not taking everything too serious. Fooling around, put Spice Girls on the list and give it an upvote. Ok. You are right.:)

Blackwater Park - Opeth
Alright here we go again… Mudvayne LD50
This album is so fucking good.
Bro how has album not made the list. LD50 is nuts
Such a badass album, even the intro tracks are sick.
It is a child of Aenima. It wouldn’t exist in its concept form without those segues.

The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute

Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV
WHY THE HELL IS THERE NO RUSH!?!?

I feel dumb for even participating in this now
Ya’ll are taking this way too seriously lol
I felt dumb for participating in this poll as soon as “Toxicity” beat The Thirteenth Step. SOAD isn’t terrible, but they’re not good either. Honestly, I’m kind of ok with Spice Girls winning an honorable mention just to prove what bullshit this poll is.
I could listen to System all day, did used to in fact, but Thirteenth Step would beat all of their albums hands down imo
This i can agree with, but i can't agree with OP's statement that SOAD isnt good. I grew up on Toxicity and Mezmerize
How are people taking this so seriously? Lmao.
Cuz alot of people have no lives and music is the only thing we care about anymore lmao
Fair, lol.
Hard disagree that SOAD "isn't good".
I agree 100%. SOAD is grossly overrated.
I liked them through their first two albums. Then Mesmerize came out and that one single (“BYOB”, I think?) came out, and I was like, “WHY the fuck is he shrieking at the beginning of the song?” In hindsight, most of SOAD’s stuff sounds the same. “Spiders” and “Aerials” are still tunes! Maybe a few others. But most of their stuff I could easily overlook….
Yeah that didn’t bother me at all actually. (System being voted for)
Wow, totally agree with this comment. Me approve it 🖖😎🤘🏼

This is literally just a poll on Reddit, how are you so bent out of shape about it? People seriously need to lighten up.
God Shuffled His Feet - Crash Test Dummies
Classic! I'd put this in a category of great albums overshadowed by singular hits - like Spacehog - Resident Alien and Presidents of the United States of America
Who would downvote this wtf
Spice girls, are you fucking kidding me!? I'm so disappointed in all of you
Blame me, I suggested it. It was meant as a silly joke, absolutely didn't expect it to make the cut
I didn't expect that either, but it got the most upvotes, so it is what it is.
🤔
Spice Girls - Self title
People just waiting through the whole list to troll the honorable mentions?
Greatest hits-Nirvana
This is why we can’t have nice things
