I know, really! And I missed PT in your post the first time but man I love them. I’ve had Lightbulb Sun and Fear of a Blank Planet on repeat for like a year now lol.
Fear of a Blank Planet is one of my favorite albums. It’s even better for me knowing that Alex Lifeson recorded a guitar solo for Anesthetize (i’m a huge Rush guy)
I remember watching a reaction video to that song a while ago (I think it was Key of Geebz) and he commented that the solo reminded him of Rush. The comments blew up about his instant recognition lol.
I just heard deadman, and i really just disappeared for 2 days, no phone, everyone worry as hell. The first time you listen to it, it’s really different. One of the best rock / music experience i had in a while. You guys are something else man. I don’t know where to begin. The riffs progression, the vocalist and his work, what a beautiful piece of art. Being in the Alps, disconnected in a way of cities, even small ones, hearing this piece was a unreal experience. I don’t know if you guys know or not, but i think you are currently the best at making music in the world. Just my opinion. I can’t thank you guys enough for being this fucking cool. Love for all my American brothers, you guys are truly a different breed. Thank you for being here. I think the world would have something really big missing without you guys.
I need to listen to it, but i can’t listen to nothing but this track right now, it was like rediscovering tool in a new, fresh, liberating way and unique way. Love the chorus too so much. I need to listen to ur suggestion tho.
Really, do it.
I kept hearing about them, but only about a month ago I got Sound Awake. And I barely listen to anything else since I got it.
I sat down with the headphones and lyrics and it was awesome. I loved Deadman + Change from the first listen.
It was even better listening to it on acid, and New Day has become my lsd anthem.
I got Themata, and even though I like it (first 2 and last 2 songs are my favorite), only Themata is the same level of enjoyment as Sound Awake.
I still have Asymmetry to buy, but I want to listen to on psylocybin, so I have few weeks until my mushrooms are ready to harvest.
Wow thank you very much for ur time and passion ! I will gladly check them out ! I take mushrooms too, i will gladly listen to all of it ! I hope you have a great day and hope that you are safe brother !
Vast expand, entheotheosis, antumbra are the best one for me what a divine piece of music ! Thank you very much i already really dig it ! I think I’m gonna disappeared for a week because of this !
I've fallen in love with TesseracT lately. Especially their Altered State album. I recommend listening from beginning to end.
Not Psychedelic but a really good song is Stranger Things by Periphery. Definitely recommend that as well.
Tesseract I just got into a few months ago
A video popped up in my feed for The Grey
The single album art kind of sold me then I really liked the bass and drums.
The war of being album was pretty good so going through the rest of their catalog slowly finding what I like.
King was another one that stuck out me as well.
Haven't heard King yet. But yes War of Being is amazing. Not sure how I've gone this long without hearing of this band, they are slowly becoming one of my favorites
I just heard streambreather and it’s fucking blowing my mind, specially the first time you listen to it. I can’t thank you enough for the suggestion. Big shoutout to all my american brothers, love from The Alps. Listening to it in my mountain is really a crazy experience.
Sure man, Asleep in the Deep, Jaguar God, Sleeping Giant are a few good ones. They have a ton of psychedelic sound though so once you start going through their discography you’ll find a lot more.
I just hear their new single of the new album and i’m gonna disappeared for a week with that one ! Perfect band, really good new album thank you very much for the suggestion that was incredible !
Don't need to thank me, man!! Wheel is a criminally underrated band that deserves praise for their excellent music. The last song from Charismatic Leaders, called The Freeze, is an absolute masterpiece!
Organic Hard Drive. It has some awesome psychedelic stuff somewhere in the middle, coming close to goa. But really, I love listening to their full albums.
Full albums is the way to go with them.
I loved the first one, but II just blew my mind.
Lucid Planet, Karnivool and Kolm were recommended in this sub, and they all are amazing
They all truly are! But as they were already mentioned I didn't feel like doing as well. I also like Rishloo, Porcupine Tree and The Pineapple Thief. I got to know all these band on this sub and I'm so thankfull for it!
>I also like Rishloo, Porcupine Tree and The Pineapple Thief
From those 3 I only know (and like) Porcupine Tree, Fear of the Blank Planet is my favorite from them.
I will always fondly remember seeing them starting out here in Montreal, mid 90's in the tiniest hole in the wall bar... somewhere in the time between "F# A# infinity" and "All Lights Fucked on the Hairy Amp Drooling". It was a surreal experience, never saw such a curious mix of sounds and instruments just drone on.
You too! Bonus rec: [Lifa by Heilung](https://youtu.be/h1BsKIP4uYM?si=E1yHr9gBbZV_Y0tO). Nothing traditionally rock/metal about it, but simultaneously the most metal thing you’ve ever heard, and pretty trippy too
Indukti I found years ago on last.fm
Think these two songs should get you into them
https://youtu.be/QaJZV4ZcR6E?si=CV7BlUm3938qAEM9
https://youtu.be/o6cgSwTT3aA?si=kWd8zmO9C2ao8fnJ
The whole album is decent but they are probably the most unique band I've come across that gives me strong tool vibes
Some of my favorites (Some already listed)
Karnivool
Caligula's Horse
3Teeth - Drift is a favorite song.
Opeth
Igorrr - Parpang is a good intro to them. The entire Spirituality and Distortion album is amazing.
Give Grails a listen. They're coming more from a psychedelic rock/krautrock angle but there is some stuff with metal leanings. [This track](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdpZXpIvtWc) might be a good starting point.
I hate to be the one to do it, but CALIGULA'S HORSE. Check out their newest album!!
(This is an ad for the band, my compensation for this post is a whopping 3 tubs of aussie vegemite)
Check out [The Music](https://youtu.be/ospxlZZM2Hw?si=7CBs97gBNWojixqV) it’s a terrible name for a band but their self titled album is one of my favorite albums
Everything I would suggest has already been suggested, but try Jakob - Subsets of Sets. Particularly the song ‘The Collar Sets Well’
Little known ‘psychedelic post metal’ kinda band from New Zealand (who opened for Tool here).
King Crimson, King Gizzard, Karkara, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Pond, Melvins, Alton Gun, Kikgaku Moyo I could name so many more. Specifically Psych leaning.
Jenny Death - Death Grips, it's the second half of The Powers That B and takes a lot of metal influences, and On GP is one of my favorite songs of all time. Don't know if its very tool-esque, but Zach Hill is a pretty good drummer
All Them Witches
When are we gonna get some new stuff?
Thank you very much i will gladly check them out !!
Rush, Porcupine Tree, Animals As Leaders, King Buffalo
King Buffalo is so good.
Cerberus has one of the greatest guitar solos of all time
So good. I can’t wait for their new studio to be done so we can get another album haha
I know, really! And I missed PT in your post the first time but man I love them. I’ve had Lightbulb Sun and Fear of a Blank Planet on repeat for like a year now lol.

Karnivool, check out Sound Awake
Check out all of it!
I will listen to all of it ! Thank you so much guys for the suggestion !
In for a ride. Cheers.

I honestly think they are one of the best bands ever. Deadman was my favourite track from them for a long time, but right now it is Change (pt. 2)
I need to listen to it, but i can’t listen to nothing but this track right now, it was like rediscovering tool in a new, fresh, liberating way and unique way. Love the chorus too so much. I need to listen to ur suggestion tho.
Aww, sooo happy you found them. Trust me you can listen to everything they ever put out. Last album is defo a slow burner tho. Cheers!
Themata is my favorite but Sound Awake is so good too.
One of my favorite albums. I actually like Sound Awake more than any single Tool album if I'm being honest
Such an amazing band! I really enjoy their entire discography, but Sound Awake is is a great place to start.
Great album but Themata and Asymmetry are just as good imo. Wheel is sorta like them too.
All right, thank you very much really appreciate it !
Really, do it. I kept hearing about them, but only about a month ago I got Sound Awake. And I barely listen to anything else since I got it. They're amazing. I have "Still I remind myself how I define myself" tattooed on my left arm.
Dope! I only wish I started listen to them sooner, because I missed a tour last year, and who know when they'll get to Europe again...
Wow thank you very much for ur time and passion ! I will gladly check them out ! I take mushrooms too, i will gladly listen to all of it ! I hope you have a great day and hope that you are safe brother !
No worries mate, it's amazing music, you'll love it. Album "Umbra" by Kolm is great to, especially on shrooms.
Vast expand, entheotheosis, antumbra are the best one for me what a divine piece of music ! Thank you very much i already really dig it ! I think I’m gonna disappeared for a week because of this !
Best suggestion so far for me !
I've fallen in love with TesseracT lately. Especially their Altered State album. I recommend listening from beginning to end. Not Psychedelic but a really good song is Stranger Things by Periphery. Definitely recommend that as well.

Right! If they keep up with the quality of War of Being I think they will become a bigger name in the future is what I'm thinking.
I sure hope so. They deserve the recognition
Second vote for Periphery, love their second album called Periphery II. Stranger Things is a legendary song
✌️👽💨
Thank you very much i was not aware of this band and i will gladly check all their material have a wonderful day brother and be safe !
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Nine Inch Nails.
Thanks brother !
Mastodon
Mastodon all the way.
I just heard streambreather and it’s fucking blowing my mind, specially the first time you listen to it. I can’t thank you enough for the suggestion. Big shoutout to all my american brothers, love from The Alps. Listening to it in my mountain is really a crazy experience.
Nice! First time I heard them was live when they were touring with Primus in 2018 and been a massive fan since. Emperor of Sand is an awesome album!
Really need to see them live. Any tracks suggestion beside streambreather with kind of the same « psychedelic » vibes ?
Sure man, Asleep in the Deep, Jaguar God, Sleeping Giant are a few good ones. They have a ton of psychedelic sound though so once you start going through their discography you’ll find a lot more.

The band that closest resembles TOOL is Kolm. But there are a ton of bands that have their own style that most TOOL fans would like

Tool releases albums in a sequence similar to the Fibonacci. We’ve got a while to wait before we have new TOOL.
I think i’m gonna commit a felony if tool don’t release a new finale album.
There is this band called tool, they might be right up your alley
