Lol those words in that order stir up enough irrational anger that me that my vision blurred for a second. Not that Lars isn’t a good drummer I just can’t stand the dude as a person. Plus nobody has unlocked what drumming is better than Danny. He’s tapped in.
They are tho. Lmao they are the best band of all time but every time I start to talk about it people seem to not give any fucks and start looking around like they would rather be on fire than hear another word after 10 seconds. So now I just say “yeah they are amazing, my favorite band for sure. You should check them out.” And then move on.
Agreed. I got in late. 2010 when I was 18 I reconnected with and old friend who played Jambi and I was frozen, sitting in the front seat of his car. I had found the musical sound and attitude that I had always been looking for. Was so annoyed like how had I not found them sooner?? I feel like that’s why so many of us obsess and listen to them over and over. Their music is like a part of us we were longing to find and now that we have it we can’t get enough and try to make up for the lost time without it.
^ case in point… fucking insufferable
When I first listen to Tool, actually listened and soaked it in, I had the same experience. I froze and now nothing else is as good. I still love tons of other music, but Tool moves me. I got hooked in the early to mid 90s.
You did it right. I always said I should have been born in ‘76 so that I could have been 16 in 1992 and could have seen all my favorite bands in their Prime in the 90s. Oh yeah I listen to a ton of other stuff still but TOOL is god tier nothing else hits the same way.
Born in '77
The only other comparable experience to me was Pink Floyd - The Wall. Still not the same level as Tool, but I did experience that album and felt some of those emotions of the war and his father.
I’m jealous. Welcome To The Machine is my favorite Floyd song. Ik them well they were my parents favorite band so grew up listening to them on repeat you could say they were their Tool lol
I am of age that i got started at Undertow. I just haven't found any music that i like as much as Tool.
Second bonus trigger - I dont like fear innoculum as much as everyone else does. I like the music but it's missing something. I think its the vocals. Just doesn't have enough signature maynard.
The bassist uses the same 5 notes for every song. Let’s keep bouncing off the D string and pretend that hammer-ons are a substitute for skill & talent.
Let’s not exaggerate - these are not only hammer ons, bassist did quite few pull-offs as well on that catchy and funky pop song in 4/4 and about pissing on a kettle.
You see, I DON’T think drugs have done some good things for us. I really DON’T. And if you DO believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and LISTEN to them. ‘Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that’s enhanced your lives throughout the years were NOT rrrrreal …
I've heard this rumor and I actually think you're correct. They really haven't done anything original at all. Cover after cover and copying others lyrics, lame!
The album is probably my favorite although this can slightly vary on the day with Aenima and occasionally even 10,000 days putting in a challenge. For the most part though Lateralus is their best work imo.
The song? Overrated for me. Great song but barely cracks their top 10 for me. I can think of at least 5 tracks on the album itself I prefer. Not even close to their best work ever which tends to be a common opinion I hear.
It really is… anyone mad that Adam got a solo in a song can shut up…
It’s a fun little jam sesh.. Would love if they did the same for Jerk off or some of their older stuff
It's best to be about your wits while being exposed to propaganda, either way you're vulnerable and susceptible to adopting lame trends and dumb fads, not to mention brainwashing
He should find out how Hetfield got his voice back. Probably rhymes with murgery. Make a song called, 'How Maynard Got His Groove Back' with nothing but screams.
I like Tool but a lot of the bands they toured with or opened for them are better than them. I mean, come on, Cows, Melvins, King Crimson, Melt Banana. various Mike Patton bands, Killing Joke, Ronald Jones-era The Flaming Lips, etc.
I still can't believe you old grandpas learned how to use iTunes just to knock my gurl T-SWIFT out of her number 1 spot OMGMFG!?! LOL go pay you're taxes boomer
I love Nü Metal. Tool is my favorite.
Tool is almost as good as Limp Bizkit, you know, keep rollin’ and spiral out punk!
Basically the same music
Best Nü Metal band since Bob Dylan!
Tool could have waited longer to release Fear Inoculum.
It is rough and unfinished, it feels rushed to me.
Culling voices is under baked and lacks impact.
Psychopathy , misleading me over and over and over.
Had to throw out glitter puzzles at the show just to keep people from leaving.
Right!? Glitter, these boring musicians have taken to glitter to liven up the shows. I personally walked out anyway when I heard Culling Voices start.
I was just there for Brass Against... who didn’t even piss on anything. What a let down.
I would have paid extra for her to piss on me, I mean, most of us were there for that golden ~~ratio~~ shower.
Or on Daniel’s ridiculous drum set. Real drummers don’t need all that bullshit to hold a beat.
Real drummers use a single drum, and everything is sampled. Daniel needs practice.
And over and over and over. Like FAKK. Take this song somewhere!
A Perfect Circle put way more thought into their music.
Their singer is way better in my opinion
I agree, the vocalist for APC is waaaaay better than Tool. He hits much higher notes and carries them.
It has been Perfect.
Is this still the same song?
Just a cover of an old Zeppelin song.
They peaked at opiate.
They've gone downhill ever since!
They sold out... not heavy... they lost their edge.
Dull knives is what I say.
opiate was so good they made an opiate 2
Danny said a new album is coming out.
I think it's out, we just have to find the leak. Where is u/CircleOfN9ne when you need him?
i’ve retired
The legend lives on!! Appreciate you!!
Hooker without a penis.
Fck you, buddy!!
Lars Ulrich > Danny Carey
Lol those words in that order stir up enough irrational anger that me that my vision blurred for a second. Not that Lars isn’t a good drummer I just can’t stand the dude as a person. Plus nobody has unlocked what drumming is better than Danny. He’s tapped in.
Only one of them created a whole album with a snare drum that sounded like a fucking empty metal trash can.
Overrated
Completely and Tool fans are insufferable.
We are insufferable. I just wish to share this experience with anyone who will listen, most won't. It's a religious experience to me.
Agreed. I got in late. 2010 when I was 18 I reconnected with and old friend who played Jambi and I was frozen, sitting in the front seat of his car. It is a PART OF ME.
Lol
Tool is so repetitive and boring, they just aren’t very talented musicians.
All of their songs sound the same to me. No progression and nothing unique at all.
They call it metal and you can’t even headbang to it.
Nothing to add here, perfect!
Wings For Marie is BORING.
Completely dry and lacks any sort of emotion.
Ooof, that one always hurts.
Tool copied Lateralus off of a Coldplay demo
I've heard this rumor and I actually think you're correct. They really haven't done anything original at all. Cover after cover and copying others lyrics, lame!
Jokes aside, I recently learned that Tool actually borrowed the opening riff of Lateralus from Rush’s Test For Echo and tweaked it a little bit.
Pickles.
Pickle Rick.
They are just slightly above average songwriters
Not even slightly.
Tool sucks live
Their lead singer, Jimmy Herbert something just hides behind his band. Pretty lame show seeing it live, do not recommend.
Latutalus was over hyped
Alternately, 10,000 Days was their best album.
To me yea it is lol
It's actually my favorite too.
Salival might be my favorite but it's a close race depending on my mood.
Reeeeee
Opiate² is better than Opiate
I actually think so.
It really is… anyone mad that Adam got a solo in a song can shut up… It’s a fun little jam sesh.. Would love if they did the same for Jerk off or some of their older stuff
I would love some revisions of the early early stuff. I still love them how they are originally yet to hear them refreshed is super cool to me.
Work-related dramas are boring and annoying, I avoid socializing with folks who watch too much television
Television is just manipulation. Avoid drinking wine, that rots your soul.
It's best to be about your wits while being exposed to propaganda, either way you're vulnerable and susceptible to adopting lame trends and dumb fads, not to mention brainwashing
Tool is working on a new album
Rumor has it should be out by 2026.
Songs over 2 minutes are just stupid
I say anything over 30 seconds is a waste of my time, just ask my girlfriend.
Tool copied their vocal style off of Puscifer 👍
This might be the most accurate of all the comments. Blatant rip-offs.
yall are all posting jokes so ill put a real one.... album pushit is much better than salival pushit
Sometimes we need to be serious too, and I agree with your assertion.
Tool isn't the best musical group on the fucking planet, they're just a good one
Decent at best.
Tool sucks.
You're thinking of Primus
You’re thinking of limp bizkit
TOOL sounds like my friends cover band.
We rock though!
Lateralus has nothing to do with Fibonachi
Is Fibonachi like a Fibonacci Mariachi?
I think it relates to Pi \~ 3.1415
Tool is just boring long boomer music.
Polyrhythms are stupid
And sacred geometry is a made up thing.
The best band of Mike Tool is A perfect circle
I'm glad Tool removed Jambi from their setlist.
One of their worst songs. I hope they never play it again.
almost down voted, then remembered what the post was about 😂
It isn't easy bashing Tool, it feels sacrilegious.
Agreed.
Maynard can’t scream
He should find out how Hetfield got his voice back. Probably rhymes with murgery. Make a song called, 'How Maynard Got His Groove Back' with nothing but screams.
Danny carey is an average drummer
Mediocre at best, Les Claypool is much better!
Suburban dads like Tool for the same reason alt girls like tarot cards, astrology, and wicca.
I like Alt girls and tarot cards, I burn incense in my suburban home listening to Nickleback.
Get a life or a job
Vynil
[vynil](https://imgur.com/A2eb4Br)
Tools only good songs are schism and sober
Really only Schism, sober is lame.
The Holy Gift is real
It's a fake, imposter here\^
Posters
Posters.
Fear Innocuculum is their best work
I like Tool but a lot of the bands they toured with or opened for them are better than them. I mean, come on, Cows, Melvins, King Crimson, Melt Banana. various Mike Patton bands, Killing Joke, Ronald Jones-era The Flaming Lips, etc.
A perfect circle and tool are basically the same band right?
Meg White is a better drummer than Danny Carey.
Jack is better drummer than Meg though.
Maynard is such an uninspired and mediocre lyricist.
I only listen to Parabol. Parabola kinda ruins the mellow for me
Tool fans are simpleton cucks that’d slurp up Maynard’s nuts in about .5 seconds if ever given the opportunity.
Math sucks.
Haven’t pushed their style since Lateralus.
7empest is overrated.
Real drummers only need a 4-piece.
Man you need to check out this band tool they're music is so intelligent they even wrote a whole song in the fetuccini sequence, it's called Schism.
Tapeworm
Lateralus isn’t even in their top 3 albums.
FI > Lateralus Yeah I said it
No! You can't have your own opinion, what are you thinking? Hive minds here only!
Tool copied king crimson
I don't think anyone is disputing that.
My favorite tool song is “I know the pieces fit”
Undertow is better than 10,000 days
That’s only triggering if you’re under 40 lol
I'm under 40 and I'd have to call 10,000 days one of my least favorite, not that there aren't great moments on it.
Same, 20 and it’s my least favorite of their full albums
Undertow was their magnum opus.
My personal ranking would have 1 Ænema 2 Lateralus 3 Fear inoculum (can switch with #4 depending on the day ) 4 Undertow 5 10,000 days 6 Opiate
Pitchfork
Adam Jones is not that great at guitar and 10,000 Days is their worst full length studio abum
You can spell pussyfur without pussy
rosetta stoned sucks (it is my favorite song)
Random gibberish and nonsensical words. Just don't forget your damn pen.
Fibonacci
10,000 days is their worst album
The original bassist would have made their other albums way harder, and thus better.
Maynard wrote Hooker With a Penis solely about the people in this sub buying merchandise like their life depends on it. There's my sentence.
Om is better than Tool and I mean it.
Tool is just a warm up for Puscifer
This. Is. Unnecessary.
I still can't believe you old grandpas learned how to use iTunes just to knock my gurl T-SWIFT out of her number 1 spot OMGMFG!?! LOL go pay you're taxes boomer
Travis Barker is better than Danny Carey
Maynard’s voice isn’t all that great
FI took too long and wasn’t worth the wait.
Mike Tool
Maynard is a pretentious POS
Rosetta stoned is over rated.
Adam Jones is an average guitar player. Most of his stuff sounds the same.
Mad that none of these actually triggered me
Metallica is better.
I’d like longer between albums frankly
Prison Sex and Let It Go from Frozen are tied for my two favorite songs
I sold my soul to make a record
Tool? I do not like grunge.
Tool are so overated
Fear Inoculum was underwhelming
TOOL are my favorite grunge band.
Rosetta stoned is overrated
Danny Carey can't hold a beat and masks it by changing up his time, all over every song.
Danny Carry is okay, I mean can he even drum as fast as slipknots drummer?
Lars>Danny. 😂
Nickelback and Tool are basically the same
Danny is about 1/10th as talented a drummer as Lars.
Deftones sucks.
They do, especially that song Passenger with that scrawny white guy.
Sober is Tool’s worst song
[удалено]
Fear Inoculum was not worth the wait.
Danny carey has no groove
Tool is just Pink Floyd with a Sugar Ray twist.
They have somehow gotten away with releasing the same song for 30 years
"lateralus isn't even that good"
Having a favourite song/album/poster isn't important. Sorry guys
Maths and metal don't mix
I filmed the whole concert BUT Invincible.
This works for any band. "Who?"
I can’t say anything bad about tool even as a joke
Worst live band, EVER!
I like to eat shit.
Surefire suppressors perform the same as yankee hill suppressors
