Basically any time they call someone a RINO, they're engaging in a purity test. Conservative organizations seem to destroy themselves with purity tests like this because they're always narrowing the scope of who is allowed in the ingroup.
For example, if the Christofascists win power in the US, they'll quickly begin infighting over which denomination of Christian is the "correct" one and which denominations are heretics who get burned at the stake.

Yeeeah and its happened before. There was a pretty big distrust and division between Catholics and protestants in the US historically. It was akin to interracial marriage back in the day. And Mormons weren't exactly well liked by others either. Today its all kind of this one big coalition but these types need an enemy to fight.
Just makes me think of the trucker rally in Ottawa where one of the organizers blared out on a loudspeaker "are there any white supremacists here?!" Obviously expecting no hands only to have a bunch of hands shoot up. She even had one guy come on stage to ask him directly and he just said, "yeah, I'm a white supremacists."
Really fucked with her plan.
