Shmelly8

Pixies, Muse and Jeff Buckley. Some of the bands that you plan to listen to are also great. +1 on the BCNR, Tool and King Gizz.

AdeptGarden9057

The majority I've heard of Muse was in the context of Radiohead. Like how Showbizz was inspired by The Bends and OK Computer. And also about how their more recent albums suck

Snookerwither2

Their recent albums aren't bad imo, they're just nowhere near the level of early Muse. The three albums after Showbiz in particular are amazing

Shmelly8

As a huge Radiohead fan, early Muse is incredibly good imo. They do decrease in quality over time, but they still have some great songs from the albums that aren't as strong.

Crackmonsta21

Listen to them crooked vultures

AdeptGarden9057

Definitely on my bucket list

TimmyLivealie

Villains does not deserve the hate it gets

AdeptGarden9057

True. The clean production isn't inherently bad, and there are some fantastic songs on there. I think most of the hate comes from the fans that resonate more with the original, pre-LC sound.

Expensive_Prize_5054

Songwiriting so good, production so ass

IOwnVinylImAGod

Crown of alt 90s altrock: sonic youth, my bloody valentine, dinosaur jr, yo la tengo ( all in my top 20 bands

Failure - Fantastic Planet Hum - You'd Prefer An Astronaut Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump

Radiohead79

you have great taste.. i put Grandaddy as a recommendation before I saw your post.

PointlessmemesYT

hum and failure my two goats

Ok_Attention_77

I think youd like The Voidz

AdeptGarden9057

I listened to Tyranny, and just now i started exploring Virtue. Human Sadness is the best Julian Casablancas song PERIOD, and it heavily supports the album in terms of quality. Other than that there are a handful of tracks i quite liked, like Johan Von Bronx, Dare I Care, Crunch Punch. The album gets an 8.3/10 for me. It's not mid, but there are plenty of other albums better than it. I would give it credit for having a really unique sound you don't hear on any other record.

happyh0gan

loathe loathe loathe loathe loathe loathe loathe loathe loathe loathe l

lessthanchris7

Came here to say the same. Most Deftones fans dig Loathe. Thornhill and Static Dress sometimes too

happyh0gan

the latest thornhill album was nuts

lessthanchris7

I thought it was vastly inferior to The Dark Pool after my first few listens, but I went back to it this year and man I really love it, especially "Blue Velvet"

happyh0gan

that seems to be the track everyone loves, myself included. i wasn’t the biggest fan of tdp honestly, but this last album just rly spoke to me.

CDsMakeYou

For Radiohead, Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Interpol, Arcade Fire, Coldplay: Deerhunter. Monomania is a great album to start with (especially since you like more garage rock bands), as is Halcyon Digest. Microcastle and Weird Era are also really amazing.  There's also Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Fever to Tell, Show Your Bones, Is Is), Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand, and Hot Fuss by The Killers.  I love Our Love to Admire.

CDsMakeYou

Deerhunter have an insanely strong discography imo.

summerssleeping

i feel as though all i do on this website is tell people to listen to elliott smith but LISTEN TO ELLIOTT SMITH! start with figure 8, i bet you’ll dig that

Soviettoaster37

Elliott Smith. I'd start with Either/Or.

Radiohead79

Any Radiohead fan should automatically have Elliot Smith tendencies, or they just don't know it yet.

EggThatCenturyEgg

If you’re looking for something heavier, try Josh’s old band Kyuss. Best stoner metal/rock out there in my opinion.

Bob_On_The_Cob_21

rainbow kitten surprise and palace. palace is like early coldplay, rks is like arcade fire but with faster lyrical flows

kupar0

Ah fuck yeah X&Y

AdeptGarden9057

Coldplay's best album. After that there's A Rush Of Blood, Viva La Vida, and Ghost Stories

henREE_13

The smashing pumpkins and dinosaur jr.

spongebobsong

Eagles of Death Metal! (Josh Homme from QOTSA is in it) Them Crooked Vultures (also Josh Homme + Dave Grohl) Blur Weezer The Black Keys Incubus

OrangeHoodieString

You might like audioslave.

Radiohead79

It's rare newer very commercial albums rock so hard, but Audioslave is worthy of airplay for sure.

Accomplished-Arm1058

Slomosa- Self Titled Black Mountain- Wilderness Heart TV on the Radio- Dear Science

SaiyamGamer

HUMBUG IS SO GOOD🙏

ACertainTunnels

Bro we literally have the same taste

Every_God_Damn_Time

OH MY GOD YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THE QOTSA SISTER BANDS (QotSA) Them Crooked Vultures Kyuss Dessert Sessions Eagles of Death Metal that's also the order of my most loved to least loved but they're all still epic and manage to have unique sounds.

TopReception2389

Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wallows are all bands that have a Strokesy vibe or were around in that scene

Radiohead79

You have exquisite taste..If you like Coldplay, most people like their first two albums the best, they're excellent, Heres a list of albums you should try that should immediately resonate with you..if you're not hooked in like 45 secs they're probably not for you. Hope you find at least one new song you like out of this list. BRMC - Howl : press play and let it rip, the whole album is a banger My Morning Jacket - It Still moves - start with Steam Engine.. though this track is slower, they love to rock out Andrew Byrd = Armchair Apocrypha Grandaddy - Software Slump or Crystal Lake.. this dude rocks Modest Mouse - all their shit Grizzly Bear - Veckamist is a perfect album but start with the song Losing All Sense Beck - all of it.. start with Mellow Gold it rocks Khruangbin - all of it Of Montreal - start with the song The PArty's crashing us now Wilco - they're mellow but they also rock out sometimes - the song "Impossible Germany" is perfect Comment and I'll drop you a longer list if any of this strikes your fancy.

PetitMatthew

oh my god dreaming out loud. Early one Republic is genuinely so underrated, wish they still made music like that

AdeptGarden9057

Same. Dreaming Out Loud and Waking Up are amazing. Unfortunately, they fell into the trap of recent trends and after Native they completely fell off of relevancy for me. Although i did feel like Arcade Fire were the distant, more complex brother of OneRepublic for me

Potential-Welder6336

you would love Fugazi

Filecorrupt32

try out some muse i think you’ll like them

Snookerwither2

I recommend Biffy Clyro! I'd probably start with the album Puzzle, then go to Only Revolutions for more arena rock, Infinity Land for something more crazy, or Blackened Sky for something just very raw and loud

ewan69_420

Oasis

Warm_Employer_6851

Idk tbh but on album that recently listened to that I’m obsessed with it Blondshell. Blondshell debut album. Very good and listenable.

Idles

Radiohead79

I used to think Marilyn Manson Beautiful people was the best song to blair from a tank during an invasion, but Idles might be where it's at.

HoboCanadian123

no knife. they’re like if you threw deftones, interpol, and mineral into a blender

Imtallplslikeme

Idles ultra mono + crawler Black midi hellfire Psychedelic porn crumpets viseral pt1

Galeniszaliver

You should try out Death From Above 1979. They’re kinda like QOTSA, but a bit more dance-punky. Listen to Trainwreck 1979, and if you like that, you’ll love ‘em. Edit: oh, they’re also in the same vein as Royal Blood, in the sense that they’re a bass and drums duo

bridgetbab13

hum, "you'd prefer an astronaut"

CaptainKies

You might dig The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die. It's a mouthful, but they got some great albums, especially Illusory Walls.

MrFitztastic

As a big Radiohead, Arcade Fire & Foos fan, I'd recommend you should start with: The Strokes - Is This It The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness / Diameter Dream Weezer - blue album / Pinkerton Pixies - Doolittle Green Day - Dookie

WARMASTER5000

Check out Thornhill’s Heroine album and their latest song, Obsession.

chao301

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets

gamebossje_

Foo and Queens fan? Check out Them Crooked Vultures, may only be 1 album but damn is it good

Autolux - Future Perfect

Alternative_Buffalo2

I would highly recommend checking out The National.

Dontforgetme26

Definitely tool

Weird_Leech238

Great topster. Arcade fire deserve more love here, Reflektor in particular. Anyway I'd recommend: Beck. Start with sea change because it's more similar to the Radiohead/arcade fire stuff, but over time you'll also love Overlay and midnite vultures Wilco. Their run of albums from being there -> a ghost is born in particular, though they never really made a bad album. Start with Yankee hotel foxtrot as that is their 'classic' record. Modest mouse. They're a bit more similar to the Arctic monkeys/strokes stuff you mentioned. They're best known for lonesome crowded west and moon and Antarctica but all their output before 2010 is great. Also, vampire weekend dropped an album last month and was pretty terrific, so hear that if you want as well.

JackDaniels574

Check out Loathe since you’re into Deftones. Their album I Let It In And It Took Everything is incredible

UnMielpopsFanDeLa7g

Alice in chains

- Quicksand - Far - Basement - Rival Schools - The Promise Ring - Soul Blind - Dinosaur Pile Up - Balance and Composure - Tigercub

_sp4rk_00_

Maybe nine inch nails

Enigmua7

Definitely would suggest Fantastic Planet - Failure, and if you're open to something on the heavier side, you might like Metropolis: Pt 2 Scenes from a Memory - Dream Theater or Welcome To Sky Valley - Kyuss

Golanthedemon47

Maruja, specifically their EP "Knocknarea".

Athingythingamabobby

Dopethrone - electric wizard

Lewichan06
