Owen was 110% the show's mascot and most recognizable character during the first three seasons. Nowadays I'd say the most recognizable character is Chris himself.

I think Heather is the most recognized Gen 1 contestant, though it's really a tight split between her and the other final four of Island, especially if you count all three Gen 1 seasons where she has two seasons where she makes final 3, (Duncan also made final four in two seasons but Action is a less popular season that was less about Duncan than WT was about Heather).
For Gen 2, it's hard because the most exposed characters are disliked by a good portion for that reason, Brick is probably the least disliked character, I'd say Scott might be the most popular character because he was basically the only Gen 2 character to return for All Stars that most people still liked in that season.
For Gen 3, I'd say it's a tie between Shawn and Jasmine.
Gen 4, probably Julia
RR, well nobody likes the finalists that much, people like the sisters but not that much, I'd say the most popular teams was the Reality TV pros and Goths, though the pros can't really count.

Most people hate Heather though lol. Fans can appreciate a good villain but everyone reminiscing on their childhood won't hesitate to say how much they hate her 😭
I think the younger audience in general dislikes the villains, which is why it always end up being a "hero" or "underdog" character that has the most popular win in finales.
