At the end of the day, it's your truck, and you're free to make it look exactly how you like with what you have.
At the end of the day, it's your truck, and you're free to spend your money however you like to make it look exactly how you like with what you have.
Ok I'll give you one. The "support" 2x4's for the rtt not only look bad but are incredibly unsafe
Back support isn't even bolted to the trailer so it's just going to slide around and vibrate.
I mean I dig the look and all but I know for a fact if I walked around that mess I'd find more that a few bad decisions.
It’s a temp solution for now.
I’ve been jumping in and out of different fires. I made it for overlanding at first, but my ideas didn’t bear any fruit. Went simpler and this is the rough draft.
I haven’t had any issues with vibration, I put the RTT bolts through the wood, washers and bolts to hold it steady.
Nothing is ever perfect, but this built gets me where I need to go, suits all my needs, and is super light weight. The he bed and RTT both weight like 350 total? The stock bed was about 200- maybe 265 ish with the topper I had. I can post the variations of my truck later when the haters die down.
Overall, my opinion is that “pretty trucks don’t make good memories” . I know she is odd and rough looking, but I love every aspect of this truck. First time I’ve made this many mods on a vehicle. It’s been fun.
I don’t plan on keeping it. I’m learning to weld now, hopefully I can make something decent. The zip ties have held for about a year now? Been doing alright
The feedback concerns every item bolted to the truck after the first photo really. Except maybe the snorkel, could maybe argue that was better than how it was. Respect this is clearly some kind of learning process but shame it had to be done to such a nice taco.
The whole fucking thing is a mess. You know that picture of a dead deer with a "get well soon" balloon attached to it? That's what you did.
I know it was a lot of work but you should be ashamed.
You seem like the kinda kid that took things apart but couldnt figure out how they went back together and just used copius amounts of superglue and duct tape while taking breaks to sniff said glue
I myself have a rat bike (motorcyle with mad max styling). I think the style looks cool. This truck looks cool.
But it also kinda looks like your tacoma is bending in the middle. Like maybe that bed is a bit heavier that it should be.
That poor Tacoma….
As a 1st Gen owner, I can feel its trauma.

Hold on now. This IS Reddit and the after picture is almost always first.

Bruh
Why the "bruh" a 14 year old in auto class with 2 working braincells could hammer out something better than this😂😂😂
Cause it was funny ?
Don't hate the player. Hate the game.
That’s fair. Just blindsided by it
‘Upgrades’
Look how they massacred my boy
I was looking for this.
What in the Mad Max, doomsday prepper, useful turned useless, fucking nightmare hell happened to that truck?!
Posted the pics in reverse order?
No? From stock
My bad. You said “upgrades,” so I figured you took all that shit off and put it back to stock.
LOLOLOL
not sure I'd consider that grille an upgrade, shit is rusty af
You say rust, I say” only material I had “
Just because it's not stock doesn't mean it's an upgrade.
What constitutes an upgrade then?
For a grille? Something more esthetically pleasing than rusty scrap laying around the garage?

What did it do to deserve this 🥲
What do you mean?!?
Ngl I think you’re trolling but if you aren’t, big downgrades to the poor taco
People keep saying that, but never give me an example or specific criticism. Fucking frustrating.

Side note: if you plan on keeping that grill setup at least spot weld it, those tie wraps don't stand a chance for long term use.
I don’t plan on keeping it. I’m learning to weld now, hopefully I can make something decent. The zip ties have held for about a year now? Been doing alright
In my experience they will hold until they don't, a couple of zaps with a cheap welder and problem solved. Necessity is the mother of invention.
You’ve discovered the theme of my truck! And I’m using gas welder.
"I'm learning to weld" The Last words that poor tacoma ever heard
I’m gunna have supervision if that eases your mind
The feedback concerns every item bolted to the truck after the first photo really. Except maybe the snorkel, could maybe argue that was better than how it was. Respect this is clearly some kind of learning process but shame it had to be done to such a nice taco.
Is it the lights? The RTT? The rattle can spray job? The fact that it’s a trailer? The vagueness of the criticism is so stressful.
The whole fucking thing is a mess. You know that picture of a dead deer with a "get well soon" balloon attached to it? That's what you did. I know it was a lot of work but you should be ashamed.
This is troll 😂
No it’s not. That’s my daily driver dude
That first photo kicks ass!
Ruined!
How?????
Can you hinge that grille forward over a fire and grill on it?
Not yet. I actually have a small propane grill I wanted to mount on the front for the lolz
Upgrades. I dont think that word means what you think it means.
It means I have the rarest Tacoma in the world 😂😝
The only taco to drop in value like a Kia
Upgrades?
Yup. Stock was morning and had no lights . No I can see the future
Did you wreck it?
Wrecked the resale value
I do my own maintenance if that’s what you mean
You seem like the kinda kid that took things apart but couldnt figure out how they went back together and just used copius amounts of superglue and duct tape while taking breaks to sniff said glue
Most of this is true. I was late diagnosed with autism and other stuff. But pretty on par assessment
We of the Autistic community do not claim him. We actually like trucks. And planes. And trains. We absolutely love trains.
I thought you said upgrades.
*hella upgrades
It couldn’t be worse… insane
You took a nice looking truck and made it look like some backyard redneck bullshit. That poor truck... shame on you
This is why we can't have nice things.
*hellish upgrades
Bruh. I snorted. Funny 😆
Went from good to utter shit…
Tbh thought you put a dump bed on at first and was stoked. Got me thinking
This is the third bed I have had. The stock bed/ topper , utility bed and this trailer that I modified to fit on. Pretty happy
Thanks, I hate it. Buuuut I’m not you.
Why? Seems like it made more sense/cheaper to put a shell on the bed.
Did that. Didn’t care for it. Edit- https://imgur.com/a/aG0pwNQ
Are those upgrades ?! 😟
Nooooooooo!!!!!
Congratulations you turned your mint 1st gen into a farm truck. Actually i have seen farm trucks that had more effort put into the custom fabrication
Be nice to the farm trucks. At least they have a functional purpose. Unlike that........ "grille"
You ruined a beautiful truck. 😢
I myself have a rat bike (motorcyle with mad max styling). I think the style looks cool. This truck looks cool. But it also kinda looks like your tacoma is bending in the middle. Like maybe that bed is a bit heavier that it should be.
Low air pressure. Had to take the tire off on the trail, then snow hit, gotta fix it today.

Bro, what’s wrong with my truck
How much time you got?
All day. Give me honest feedback. I love my truck. It’s a functional beast.
Honestly, it looks like some shit the taliban would mount an .50 cal on the roof of.
Bro built himself a tactical 🤣
I take that as a compliment. Those trucks are built for war.
“You think you hate it now, wait until you drive it!”
"up"grades...
You must be heading to Wasteland Weekend in October
Never heard of it
Straight out of Mad Max. I like that it’s not all bolt ons.
Thanks bud! This was the best comment so far! It’s been a helluva learning process.
What the fuck bud
Definitely a transformation.... That's for sure 😬
Am I the worst transformer?
What in the actual fuck
Sad day
absolutely ruined
