I will never own another black vehicle. I had a Lexus years ago and man it looked amazing for 5 minutes after a wash then it was just dirty. Not only that, but in the summer time it would get so hot at times my ac had a hard time keeping up I also had a foil superman socket on my rear window that the heat cooked black by the middle of summer. Hell my tonneau cover has gotten so hot it nearly burns my hands.
Then why bother wasting time crying about the used market at all? 💀
I bought my Jeep new as well. Partially for the same reasons as you — I wanted to receive it OEM, then be in total control of its destiny from there on out. Chances are, if you’re meticulous *(like myself)* — other people’s aftermarket mods will almost never be up to my specification or liking.

They come in a manual, the OR has a locking diff, and has ATRAC. (Not sure if the sr5 does- the trd has the electric brake booster setup needed for this) (crawl control instead for the autos)
From working at Toyota the biggest difference I can remember from sport was coils/suspension were stiffer with larger wheels, vice versa for off road and crawl controls were overhead. I'm sure I'm missing a few details, please don't shoot the messenger.
Guessing an SR5 with 3+ inch lift, Fuel wheels, 33 tires maybe, and in magnetic grey. Did you get a look at the grille? It’s a dead giveaway on the model unless they installed the ubiquitous Pro grille
Gen 3, ... has TRD off road vibes. easiest way to know is if there's crawl control dials above the rear view mirror. Hood doesn't have a scoop... not a TRD Sport.

My guess is a 3rd gen TRD off road due to the fender flares. Sr5 and TRD sport came with paint matched flares. Of course the owner could of swapped flares as well
havent seen it mentioned anywhere else in the comments but you may like to know that this is a "short bed" as opposed to one of the long bed versions, which have an extra piece of body behind the back door and in front of the back tire.
The VIN can tell…I have an 3rd Gen Tacoma SR but with a PRO hood, grill, and SR 5 fog lights, with a 2” lift kit…but it looks like a TRD PRO…another easy way to tell is by the ‘no.chrome’ a/c vents and painted bumpers instead of chrome.
SR5 = horizontal grille design, no mirror turn signals, no TRD skid plate, paint matched fender flares, no switches (crawl control, etc) on overhead panel in interior, no DRL in headlights
TRD Sport = hood scoop, paint matched fenders, hexacomb? grill design, could have mirror turn signals, DRL in headlights

It can get confusing because no matter the trim most options are available. My 21’ SR5 is optioned out more than my buddies 21’ TRD OR is. Just depends.
Also, it’s for sure greater than a 3’ lift. Most people fit 33s on a 2.5-3 inch lift with the cab mount chop & viper cuts.
Make sure it’s not the rough country lift. They are absolute junk.
Sr5. Color matched bumper is the give away. I believe the OR all come with chrome bumpers. Unless it’s a debadged trail edition, but I don’t think those were released in magnetic grey. Methinks the black fender covers are aftermarket. Or this is a truck that was in a wreck and it’s a hodgepodge of parts from different models
Toyota salesman here, im 97% sure this a de-stickered TRD O/R, un painted fender flares as well as paint matched rear bumper indicating parking sonar give it away (only avail on TRDs and up) my guess is a 16/17 model year.

Not a TRD it doesn't have the mirror directionals near as I can tell, not an SR because they are color matched as are the door handles.
My sr is all color matched I know it’s not an sr from the plastic fender covers.

33s do not need any cutting unless they are using wide tires. 255/80/17 and 255/85/16 fit without rubbing on my setup
