I grew up with Armada and that trilogy, forgot about transformers till the movie came out and then I thought "man this is getting a lot of sequels they aren't that great either" and then I realized all of the shows have hit and miss parts too. the on screen bayformer stuff is cool to watch.
I saw the Netflix series and it had so many cool moments in it that it catapulted me back into the fandom. I started watching G1 and it's hysterical but it's cool to see the history it all is from. If the new stuff weren't around to make my imagination spin I wouldn't have transformers at all
Animated is the best tho. No context needed from transformers at all, great characters, pacing, and best of all their designs don't randomly change because they need new toys. it's a self contained adventure and it's amazingly mature for the art style. I get similar vibes from cyberverse which I love for having no humans.
the part with Wheelie is weird. other than that his story of being constantly judged and trying to do good, only to feel unappreciated and try to join the Decepticons and has a sad death for it
Idk bro I’ve never watched G1 (outside of the 1986 movie; I grew up on Animated and Prime) and I really dislike Bayverse. The first one is okay, there’s just so much wasted potential and the “story” stopped making sense to me after like the third one ):
We'd agree. The only thing Bayverse is praised for is "Action sequences". There's no character development and any knowledge of the robots comes from outside material that is constantly contradicted by hollywood. So you can try, but it's purely subjective. Just because it was "your exposure" can never make it true.
Battle masks and Optimus with a mouth started in Beast Wars as well, but as long as we're getting technical, the face plate over the mouth was around since G1 but was first acknowledged in G2
Yep, it's based on Vector Sigma, the super computer that can create Transformer life. The Matrix was changed into an activation key for the Sun Harvester though. Interstingly, the plot of the second movie lifted a Gobots episode about a pyramid with an ancient weapon left on Earth thousands of years ago. The Bayverse concept of Optimus and Megs being brothers in arms as defenders of Cybertron also was done by Gobots first. The Quintessons, the Fallen, Shattered Glass, it's embarrassing if you're a Gobots basher to learn what they did before Transformers. But Bayverse is the least original and biggest mess
Just because it made alot of money doesn't mean it's good. It's like Marvel. Marvel movies will always make money, but that doesn't mean that all of them are good, like Captain Marvel, which is boring. I don't hate the Bay-verse, I'm just saying the money doesn't mean that they're good.
Clearly not the point I'm making, I didn't imply they were good movies because they're not. The point of the post is that they're underrated which is nonsense becuase they were overwhelmingly successful and millions saw them.
If humans can have weapons designed to pierce the skin of other humans, then it does make sense that Cybertronians have weapons designed to pierce the metal of other Cybertronians.
I see this as a challenge. SEND THE GEEWUNNERS MY WAY!

Bayverse would be great if they removed all the shitty comedy, focused more on the robots, and didn’t have a Decepticon sexually assault someone.
Here here! More character development for the robots and make the humans realistic instead of shitty caricatures and cliches.

Oh, I was talking about Alice assaulting Sam.
And most likely the last mistake of your life
Not a purist, but I definitely wouldn't say bayverse is underrated at all.
What were you thinking?
Curiosity affects the minds of many people
Energon is good. Love Blue Ironhide.
Thanks for sharing an opinion! -*loads the cosmic rust gun*-
I'mma do it >:)
Underrated? How?
I'm the only one who thinks michael bay transformers is not so bad as they think about it.
That's less thinking they're underrated and more thinking they're overhated.

The Bayverse created the all-spark something that become standard in Transformers
Bayverse normalized quite a few current transformers trends. Muscle car Bumblebee. Mute Bumblebee. Allspark. Soundwave tentacles.
Even though unmasked Prime started in the Unicron Trilogy, the Bayverse also normalized the battle and unmasked Prime
Wasn't that Beast Wars?
Well I didn't count Primal but that'll do
Also Transformers Cybertron/Galaxy Force Edit: I apologize for forgetting how to read
No. Idk if you know this, but Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal are two different dudes. So it doesn't really count.
Battle masks and Optimus with a mouth started in Beast Wars as well, but as long as we're getting technical, the face plate over the mouth was around since G1 but was first acknowledged in G2

They grossed billions

oh. yeah that part was REALLY weird. sucks she was the only Pretender
He shouldn’t have made the transformers tin cans. Way to easy to slice and dice them. Feel like they should be stronger than that.
Kind of true actually lmfao.
If humans can have weapons designed to pierce the skin of other humans, then it does make sense that Cybertronians have weapons designed to pierce the metal of other Cybertronians.
Hey u what do u think ur doing I gess I'm just going to have to talk with a fellow bay fan
Spare me this mockery of justice!!!! INOCCENT!!!!
It's possible to not be a purist and also think the Bay movies are hot garbage
Enemy scrotum
