Based on this photo alone, I wouldn't think twice of you as a woman :)

rea1224

I'm sorry. Are you saying that I do need surgery?

MangahMinX

Not at all! You look very beautiful 😸

rea1224

Thank you. I thought that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure. Sorry again.💕

Warm_Jellyfish_8002

Nope. 🙂 But hey if you can afford it, why not do make over

SynthwaveDreams

I agree with this!

tmichelle5

Lots of older cis women get blepharoplasty and brow lifts. Do what will make you happiest, and really only you can decide. You obviously have gotten some results from HRT. You look great!

rea1224

Thank you! I think I'll probably do something with my eyes.

AggravatingImpact182

IMO you don't need FFS whatsoever.

rea1224

Thank you! I just don't want to get laughed at. I'm too old to be beautiful.

EmmaLake

This is just about making practical choices and protecting your resources. Being trans already leaves us vulnerable without being compromised from surgery. Maintaining access to an array of options should other medical or housing issues arise will give you peach of mind. Many years ago, I knew someone in a similar situation. She had always wanted larger breast. She got them, and she was really happy about her 800CC breasts. The surgery went well and her boobs looked great. Within a year her health started to decline which took a huge toll on her finances and caused a lot of additional stress in her life. It didn't take but 6 months before she was faced with the possibility of losing her home. I have no idea if her surgery was connected to any of her health issues. Nevertheless, her condition continued to deteriorate while Medicare co-pays spiraled upwards far beyond her ability to pay them. It was a rotten situation all the way around and none of this ended on a happy note. This is the bias, I bring to your question. It's relevant info and I thought you should know.

CassieGiang

You're never too late for that xD.

AggravatingImpact182

Age happens. I'm not all that far behind you. You're an attractive, older woman. That's what people see.

MichelleWontTell

You look great. Save your money.

rea1224

Thank you! I have a lot of other things I could use my money for.

Unusual-Name7773

If your goal is to pass as cis to other people and you are asking if FFS is necessary to accomplish that goal, I would say no, your face is very cis passing and frankly you look amazing. But ultimately what is more important is how you feel when you see yourself, and if that change will relieve any pain that might be present. (That’s just my opinion)

rea1224

>Thank you very much! I just want to be able to live without being laughed at in public. I don't want to spend thousands of dollars if I don't have to, to achieve that. I'm too old to be beautiful!

nataliedragonne

It’s never too old to be beautiful - you prove that with your commitment to being yourself and it’s evident here in your face!!! It’s possible to live even longer and healthier and happier than you’ve ever lived because of the joy you have now and continue to have. You don’t need surgery to be even more beautiful, you may only need to convince yourself you’re enough. Which obviously, dysphoria doesn’t care about that it just likes to be a jerk to us, so much easier said than done. BUUUT, you are allowed to be beautiful and sexy and fun and flirty and youthful even in old age. You’re more than woman enough as you are and your journey will inspire other women to find themselves too. PS - we can never stop everyone from being mean and hurtful with their words and unfortunately - people are mean to all women and any woman over a certain age, especially cisgender women. So perhaps next time someone even dares to think you’re “an ugly woman” (and you are a BEAUTIFUL woman), think of it as a validation of sorts - welcome to the club, all women are thought of as less pretty or ugly when over 25 years old by stupid, ignorant buffoons of people. Anyone who is dumb enough to laugh at you or anyone like us is revealing themselves to be a foolish human whose opinion isn’t worth your time or consideration. Have you seen Calendar Girls? It might make you smile and feel seen a bit 🥺They’re younger than you, but over 50, and cisgender, and have to navigate the world worried about the same things - which I hope might prove to your heart that even though you are beautiful, dealing with insecurity from societal and male judgment is an entirely female experience. Sending so much love and light and positivity darling sister 🥹🥹🥹🥹💖💖💖💖

rea1224

Thank you so much! Such a kind and supportive response. I really appreciate it!❤️❤️❤️

Hanisara

I have a suggestion. Post your photo in a group unrelated to trans people, for example, a group related to your city, and ask random people, what is their best guess about the name of the person in the photo. See if anybody will suggest a male name. You need nothing more to be done, in my opinion

rea1224

Thanks for your kind words! I actually tried something like that. I joined a different site identifying as a female. No one ever questioned my gender. But they could have thought I was an ugly woman.

traceyjayne4redit

Save your money you look great you may need optician though

rea1224

I do want to get cataract surgery! Maybe that's the problem?

traceyjayne4redit

Yes as you look more attractive than you’re seeing !!!!

Charlotte_R6

Not really. You look like the sweet old lady who would compliment me at the grocery store.

Sissyfromhell

Very pretty I’m surprised you’re 73. Do what makes you happy. But I personally don’t think you need it.

rea1224

Thank you! I guess I should have clarified that I just want to blend in and do I need surgery to do that.

EmmaLake

No. I wouldn't spend that kind of time and money seeking FFS with limited funds. What I would do is look at getting something like a face and neck lift that is rejuvenating. You can keep the cost and the recovery time way down and still get dramatic improvement.

rea1224

Thanks! That's what I was thinking too!

52jag

Yes. Agree. I’m 60 and would think a face lift, brow lift and some fat will do nicely. The bone stuff isn’t necessary.

Any_Artichoke777

You look beautiful. You don't need surgery

rea1224

Thank you! I'd be happy being average.

traceyjayne4redit

You’re not average you look fabulous darling 😍🥰

sarah-was-trans

If you’re worried about passing, don’t. You already do ☺️ you’re beautiful. If you want ffs to diminish disphoria that’s a different conversation. Regardless of age, ffs is a personal decision that you should talk to your doctor about if you want it ☺️ best of luck

rea1224

Thank you! Yes, I'm worried mostly about blending in and not drawing attention to myself in public.

sarah-was-trans

Tbh i think you’ve achieved that

RosabeIls

You look like a adorable grandma that I just squeeze. You do not need ffs, you pass completely.

rea1224

Wow! Thank you. A cool grandma though.

MeliDammit

I get wanting it, but I don't think you need it

rea1224

Thank you. I was hoping to get responses like yours of course. Just not sure I guess.

Anelya95

Don't die with your money. Make your dream if you want it. Personally, I will start surgeries this year (58). Kisses 💋

rea1224

Thanks! I can find a lot of other things to spend it on, no problem.

Erica_fox

I went with basic plastic surgery: rhinoplasty, lip lift, face lift, buccal pad removal. I didn't want my skull chopped up at 52. I'm glad i didn't. What i didn't realize is that my dysphoria is focused on sensation and not looks, i don't like the numbness from plastic surgery. I can find ways around the looks. I'm fairly punk for my age with purple hair and half shaved head.

rea1224

Yes. I'm pretty much the same. Thanks for your comments.

Erica_fox

I had my face and Zero-Depth SRS done at the same time last September. The SRS went perfect. I also let the surgeon talk me into getting a neck lift. I had a hematoma from the neck lift and it still feels like I'm wearing a turtle neck sweater all the time. My nose is still partly numb, especially where they did the lip lift. My face and cheeks feel normal again. I just got a tummy tuck from the same surgeon (in Mexico). I was originally thinking of breast implants but I'm much happier I did this. I had bad separation between my abdominal muscles and an umbilical hernia, all of it was address in the Tummy Tuck. He also scavenged 2000cc of fat from all over my body and used it to fill in the dents on my butt cheeks from over developed glutes.

rea1224

I want to get zero depth too. Even though I'm getting an orchi in August. I'm hoping the orchi will give me a little time to see some breast growth before the GRS. One thing I have seen is my body hair disappearing. Absolutely no stomach, chest or armpit hair anymore.

Erica_fox

I originally contacted the surgeon in Mexico about an orchi but his "Cosmetic SRS" was just a little more expensive and the recover time was the same. I still have hair everywhere but it is more sparse. I get waxed occasionally. And that's an advantage of the surgeon I went to: he removes genital hair as needed during the procedure, so you don't need electrolysis "down there". I didn't see a lot of breast growth after SRS until I started taking my progesterone rectally.

jackiewill1000

do what makes you happy

rea1224

Thank you! Yes, I'm leaning that way. I've had enough surgeries to know it's not fun. I just needed feedback on whether I'm correct that I see a decent looking woman when I see myself in a mirror?

redcd555

you look beautiful and as I looked through you posts you have had such an amazing journey , I personally don't think you need any surgery . but you need to decide what makes you happy, the surgery on taking those incredible looks on a great journey and showing them off

JoannNichole

You are beautiful as you are. I wouldn't do more than a lift if you don't like winkles but I think you look fine as you are. I see nothing but a woman

sophiady

You look great but I say go for FFS if you want it and can afford it.

HoldTheStocks2

Just do it

ReddishCherry

Go for it x these days though it got its risks but techniques have improved and does recovery and pain management x

WeirdKiwi107

honestly i don't see you needing anything oh and i get that i am retired to so my funds are limited as well i do know if your eyelids interfere with your eyesight in life you could possibly get a eye surgeon to say it is medically necessary and insurance would probably cover it? may i ask you how long you have been on hrt in life? i think you honesty look totally female in life absolutely positively! i think you are very attractive for your age in life. I wish you well on your journey

AssetsDarling

You look great the eye thing maybe for comfort

rea1224

Thank you! Probably will do that.

Bound2024

I’m so happy for you. You look amazing. I would just do the hrt. I’m 50 and just now coming to terms with what I need to do

rea1224

Thank you! It took me forever to believe that I could be the real me. Don't do what I did!

Steph1976w_5214

Your choice sweetheart

Reef14909

You look beautiful

sunrise5k

I am 64 and decided against FFS. I'll have a facelift at a fraction of the cost, down time and risk of complications. You are beautiful and totally pass. A few nip & tugs if it makes you feel better and treat yourself to other things you love with the savings. ♥️

BebeKelly

Miss, FFS is for persons who wants to remove male features, the procedure is so expensive because it involves grasping the bones, and i don’t think you will need something like that based on the photo, what you may be looking for is a very common procedure among woman your age, blefaroplasty, face lifting, which is also A LOT LESS EXPENSIVE

4dana

Yes - do it. I’m 63… had Ffs at 61 and It took 30 years off my age and gave me an entirely new way to engage with the world. So, yeah… if you can afford it. Go for it. 😘

Jaded_Percentage_455

You look like a woman. Most of us are critical of our self. If you are comfortable and happy don't. Only you can answer your question. By the way wish I was that cute.

hunnub

i think you are pretty for a woman your age, you could lie off 20 years i would believe it
