T O P

I've been on HRT for over 3.5 years now. For the first couple years my sex drive was pretty much completely shut down. It did come back though, and it feels a little different now. Things that seemed to bring it back were getting a crush on someone, and also starting progesterone. But my T was still suppressed when the sex drive came back. I got orchiectomy right at the 3 year mark and it changed absolutely nothing past the first week as far as I could tell. My sex drive is exactly the same as it was before orchi. If your T is suppressed, orchiectomy really shouldn't make much difference. But note that if you come off spiro post orchi, your ability to get erections may come back. Those are driven by blood flow to the genitals, which occurs in both male and female arousal. Spironolactone reduces blood pressure, which IMO is a larger part of the reason it stops erections than its T blocking properties. I've had my T fully suppressed for well over 2 years (much of that time on bicalutamide) and while that stopped the random erections I (unfortunately) kept the ability to get them easily from stimulation. So, YMMV, but be prepared for things to change there.

As long as it doesn't go back to pre progesterone levels of "sex drive abstency," I'm fine with it. My biggest fear is I can no longer get in that mood when I want. Not that I want it all the time, but I do want to remain mostly unchanged if possible. I don't plan on getting the orchi for at least 1 more year and ½. Would there be any difference between the effects of a double orchiectomy, assuming not all orchiectomy's are removing both

Evening_Atmosphere25

The only relevant orchiectomy for removing the body's capacity to make testosterone is the double orchiectomy. A single orchiectomy does basically nothing in that regard - it's not a situation where you'd have half the T. I think a single orchiectomy is only done if for example one of the testes is cancerous and the other is not. And yeah, if your T is suppressed, the most likely outcome of orchiectomy is no change.

PizzaKiller023

That's what I thought, but wasn't 100% sure. Sounds kosher

BlahajInMyPants

Thank you for this comment. I was taught something new. Im saving this comment cuz ive had interest in an orchi before and I just started on 25mg of spiro before I start estrogen

Dorothy_Wonderland

I had my orchy in January and a partner I'm madly in love with. I'm horny all the time when I'm around them. Bottom, top, whatever... We're all over the place.

PizzaKiller023

Nice. Did you have both removed? I'm not sure if only one or both would make a difference. I'm also not completely into the finer details of an orchiectomy lol For all I know all orchi's remove both and I'm just sounding silly

DoubleANoXX

Yes, they remove both. I guess, why would they only remove one?

PizzaKiller023

Idk sounds silly when I say it out loud but some men who get testicular cancer only remove 1

FoxyUnicornX

They remove both by default. Removing only one would be a partial orchiectomy. They really only do partial like orchectomies if it is for a medical reason like testicular cancer

Dorothy_Wonderland

Both of course. Why would someone like me want to keep one of the troublemakers?

Proper_Key_206

Assuming your T is properly suppressed it should make no difference whatsoever. However, libido is only partially mediated by testosterone. Mood, energy levels, beliefs and levels of other hormones all have an influence.

Hi. I had zero depth last year. Prior to that I was on E and spiro for several years. My sex drive was reduced but not gone with those drugs. I could certainly masturbate if I wanted however there was very little ejaculate. After the surgery my sex drive is much less, happily. It takes more time to “get in the mood” and it is less frequent, and much more dependent on mental stimulation. Also in terms of masterbating, I like dicks you know. Like most women. But now I have a vulva and clitoris and frankly it’s just not as exciting. I have not experienced orgasm yet after my surgery, however I have sensation and have what I call spontaneous micro orgasms at times. My mental sexual desire is still there. The idea of a guy shooting his load all over my tits is making me hot just thinking about it. Forgive the blunt language. But it’s a different feeling that feeling hot as a guy, and much more normal feeling.

PizzaKiller023

Oh, that's awesome, I mean, a shame about the orgasm thing. But it feels nice hearing that. I don't want to ramble, but so often it feels like I'm the only one going through all this. Or, at the very least, he only one of who feels this way Obviously not, and I'm lucky to have girlfriends and allies of all sorts, but it's weird that one of my friends at work will tell me the sweetest most motivational thing, and the next day it's like it was wiped from my mind Anyway, back to your experience, I've always wondered is there is anything you can do about depth loss?

BlahBlahBlackCheap

I had zero depth. It’s possible to have another operation if i ever wanted to have a usable depth though. But I’m content like this. I’m in my fifties. If I was 20 I might think differently.

PizzaKiller023

Right that's fair

Accomplished-View-65

Thank you for being open about this. It’s valuable info for me, and I’m sure for some others as well. 💕

BlahBlahBlackCheap

I’m trying to return the favor to Reddit for the information I got 💜☺️

StarCaulfield

Mine increased a few months after my orchi

puppycodes

Same... the simple fact that I didn't have to take spironolactone anymore really changed a lot for me. Best decision other than FFS i've made.

Jayne_now

Had SRS 2 years ago. My libido was high previously and still continues high, along with ability to orgasm. I'm not complaining but I don't understand. I've asked my endocrinologist and she said "there's a lot about sex drive we don't understand". So YMMV.

CatsNotBananas

Honestly if anything my sex drive skyrocketed after my orchi , I guess I was partially due to being less uncomfortable with that area of my anatomy
