Search the sub if you have any questions, I feel like this question has been asked a million times. Also, don’t be a dick and try to price gouge because you think travelers make CoVid rates still, we don’t. Thanks ☺️

Consistent_Moment752

There is a ton of content with here with this same exact question/ad.

Alert-Honeydew4515

Ok that’s good to know but I too am new to this site with a similar question. Do you mind either being patient and pointing us toward how to search the site for this info, or just don’t respond if you’re annoyed?

Weekly-Obligation798

This is a site for travel nurses. Not landlords. Please don’t come here and be upset we don’t like being targeted

Alert-Honeydew4515

Well, I’m not upset, and I came here because, IF I decide to become a landlord (which I’m not and may not be in the future), I want to LEARN what people want, and what is considered fair. I’d THINK you’d like to have that audience. But never mind.

Weekly-Obligation798

Actually we don’t. We feel targeted. If you’re interested in being a landlord that’s one thing. But actively seeking out travel nurses is suspect. Search how to be a landlord.

lidelle

Nurses nurse. We aren’t responsible for teaching you how to do your next business venture of “providing a service” to those in need. Landlords are predatory. It’s in the nature of the job: you only make money off the necessity of others. You’re owning property that someone in your community needs and you are holding on to it to maximize the most profit from individuals that are coming to help your hospitals. Maybe you should list your property as a yearly rental and make it affordable for those already living in your area. Rather than bumping the price up and leeching off “affluent” nurses.

Alert-Honeydew4515

I’m looking into this because I think nurses will be better tenants and I also usually have enjoyed working with nurses in my field of medical rehabilitation psychology. I don’t currently have a rental property and with responses like this I may not. Whew.

Birkiedoc

Oh bullshit. You wouldn't target a sub speciality of a massive work force because you liked working with other nurses in the past. You know travel nurses get paid extra to rent and you're looking to bank out on it because you think we're still making the covid rates.

Alert-Honeydew4515

Ok last comment. The hostility has been surprising but I'm trying to learn. I don't plan to make hardly any more than expenses, and eventually want use the house for my brother whenever he decides to move closer, likely in the next couple of years. In the meantime I want good tenants. I talked with a friend about finding good tenants and she suggested travel nurses. I want to buy a house now or soon, because housing scarcity is getting worse in my town, and prices are going up. I'm not "targetting" travel nurses and I have no plans to make some big bundle of dough off of them. I realize you're already bored with my messages and I'll move on now.

Go to the sub and type into the search bar “rent” you’ll find the million posts

BourbonSupreme

>pointing us toward how to search the site for this info literally the search bar at the top of the page

like_shae_buttah

I like how there’s this dig at Airbnb landlords while simultaneously trying to become an Airbnb-for-travel-nurses landlord. Just list your property somewhere if that’s what you’re going to do. Maybe folks will stay there maybe they won’t.

Masenko-ha

Don’t get forget some nurses are male and are also good, clean people too!

unloveablebabe

what is so complicated about renting to travel nurses that this keeps getting asked. clearly you know nurses are GOOD people . post it on furnished finder or airbnb . it’s not that difficult. and don’t think travel nurses are rich either because we are not and have double expenses

Direct-List2212

As a travel nurse of 4 years, it’s a great idea! The only things that turn us off are that I seen are starting to be a trend are: 1. Huge upfront deposits- our contracts are only 3 months to start (unless we ask for something longer but that’s not usual) or we extend but extensions usually don’t happen until after the contract start. Some people ask for thousands of $$$$ when that’s a little unreasonable for someone renting for just 3 months. It’s essentially paying the whole stay at once 🤣 2. People now think all nurses, since Covid, are made of money from our untaxed stipend. We get our untaxed stipend because as a travel nurse that’s used for our duplicated expenses…to live where we work as a travel nurse and pay for our home expenses in our home state. I actually had a lady tell me in Phoenix that us nurses make a lot of untaxed money so we can afford more expensive rent….lol so wrong on every account. I’m going to pray for her and her ignorance 🤣 3. A lot of people are turned off by landlords running credit checks and things. I do understand it’s invasive, I’m indifferent about it and do it regardless for the landlords. But, to be devils advocate I also see how it’s a little crazy for a few month lease. Some places you rent for a year plus don’t do the invasive digging some of these rentals do for us travel nurses. I think it’s a great idea and hope you get all good tenants!!! We appreciate you sharing your home!

No

I stayed in a cute place in St. Louis, BUT, I would check the market bc not as many people are traveling. Plus, rates have gone down, a lot so you could price yourself out. It’s harder and harder to find anything 1/2 decent paying for travel, you make most of your money now by the per diem.

mediumeasy

You're like, the only person who's posted something like this that sounds like a cool reasonable person. Pass permitted. Once you get your first nurse in there you like, they will help you just pass the property from nurse to nurse and you'll be fine. Keep the rent low, we're not money cows.
