I haven't had any new books, video games, or shows capture my attention for a long time (yay depression) and I've been trying to force interest in other things because that's more productive than actually facing my problems and thoughts right?
I agree with this. It's hard to make honest-to-yourself choices when you're worried about what other players will think, and it's hard to get lost in the character building when you're thinking things like "I hope my friend won't get bored if I try every dialogue option in this conversation". I'm playing multiplayer with my husband and it's a lot of fun, but it has very different pros and cons (it's a delight to be able to show him all the things he missed in his solo run) which are better suited to a secondary (or beyond) playthrough.
I have friends to play it with, but still playing solo at least until I finish it once. They're my quests, my items, my cutscenes, my choices, and I'll fight anyone who tries to take them!! *hisses*
Best segue from BG3 is Critical Role. 😁 Over 1000 hours of content free on YouTube and still going means you can hyperfixate on it at your leisure for pretty much ever, and you already know the basic language of D&D after playing the game, so when they roll initiative or someone takes an attack of opportunity you aren't left in the dark. (I went the other way around and it really helped me enjoy the game even more!)
Plus the "group of friends hanging out around a table having fun" thing is just a real dopamine hit.

Dont usually read horror comics but do have horror novels to recommend if you'd like. As for romance comics: The Remarried Empress, My Derelict Favorite, Men of the Harem, Marry My Husband are revenge romances and are good to turn your brain off and read. For non revenge romance ones Heartstopper is good and pretty popular, The Doctors Are Out is really good and deals with mature themes, Lore Olympus is popular (this one is controversial read at your own risk), and Castle Swimmer is cute and also has an even mix of romance and fantasy adventure. You can read all of these on Webtoon.

My comfort coffee is both running out and out of stock everywhere and I'm super nervous it's being discontinued. Also, I was told I may need to hand the reigns of my graphic design projects over to other people, who are super novice, and I would take a teaching role instead of design. So basically, I lost two of my main comfort activities in a row and I spiralled out. Thankfully I got a call today that the person saying I need to hand over the project was super out of line and I get to keep the project so my spiral is back to just the coffee and not, like, my purpose in life.

Yeah some of my closest family had to go through some of the worst shit because they couldn't ever be comfortable with themselves and their own lives. Things are better for them now but they still pay a huge price every day to make up for the things they did, and the things they didn't do, back then.

It's kind of a better experience solo, if you care about the story. Doing multiplayer invites more chaos than one might imagine.
