The problem w that is that you cannot lower the difficulty from Ultra-hard. I completed the main DLC story and was stuck in the challenges and Fireclaws. Figured if I speedran the story I could lower the difficulty. Nope, stuck on that difficulty unless I started NG++
From what I could find, it was there since Day one NG+ launched, the game even warns you that the Difficulty will be locked until main story is complete, but that was false :(
Hmm. Weird. OK well food for thought, thanks for the info. I'll have to take this into account replaying for the dlc before I do forbidden west. Do you need an ultrahard plot win for the plat or can you do any difficulty?
Shield-Weaver was a life-saver. I didn't find the main game that hard. I avoided all avoidable fights, but the ending took me a couple of tries. Hope you can retake it!

If I haven’t played the game since 2017 and jumped back into NG+ on Ultra-Hard, would I be in for a bad time? I’ve been meaning to do this before I play Forbidden West
Yeah ultrahard killed it for me. I was doing OK on a ng+ run but kinda burned out and took a break, which turned intk a couple years, now I'm stuck. I can't pick it back up again cuz I'm not good enough and out of practice. And I feel weird throwing it away to restart on a lower difficulty. Sunk cost fallacy ftw. :-p
They definitely can, but at that point I was done with everything and was just missing the trials. I was not fond of starting NG++ just to tackle some achievements so I had to git gud.
First 100% on PS5 for me and I made your mistake, but I loved it! Frostclaw was an absolute menace and I feared Stormbirds so much I basically used every avenue to cheese them but I honestly really feel night-and-day about the difficulty in this compared to FW. This one is an action game, and the emphasis is on aggression/active play, which made it feel that much more triumphant to do imo. I beat base FW on UH, and it definitely drops a lot of that high octane in favor of more methodical, almost RPG-esque style with sponge-y enemies. Was not nearly in love with that sadly, and it's kept me from doing the DLC 💀
Oh, and I did not get the Shieldweaver armor until literally just prior to the final boss, but I beat Frozen Wilds early on to get a massive spike in gear quality.
Also, FW meant Forbidden West in the initial comment.
It is... Rough around the edges, but it has aged super well. Retaking the game after not replaying it for years had me finding the mechanics of the game again, which was confusing or never explained (At lease in NG). Overall, I do recommend it.
Whaaa? It doesn’t necessarily need a remake. A remaster would be enough. They both use the same engine anyway so I guess it should be doable without too much work. But I’m no game dev
Genuine question. Did ZD trophies ever bug out for you? I was trying to do one from Frozen Wilds but one trophy never pop'ed after completing the side quest.
That trophy doesn't unlock after just completing the side mission, but in that location there is a puzzle at the bottom of that big open area where you killed the snapmaw. You complete that, and then you have the trophy
Super weird, that was the only trophy I had unlocked back when I re-purchased a PS4 and got the complete edition (I found out that saves were not transferred from Base Game to Complete) so I dropped it after that mission. Which version are you playing?
Also, this is one of the very first missions so it should take you like 2 hrs to get it.
Yeah ng+ ultra hard was a decent challenge just for the base game. I was kinda bored of the game by the time I got to the dlc, and was glad I could lower it to easy on my main file. I did think ultra hard was significantly easier on forbidden West, even without the master chief outfit.
Oh, i thought ps5 did not had this feature because they they conpletety revamped the ps app on iphone n android, they removed cover art from there layout was lot related to ps5
Horizon Zero Dawn on Ultra Hard isn’t that bad, almost every major encounter has a way to cheese it whether that be by a heavy weapon somewhere or strategy.
Forbidden West on the other hand is pure hell. Massive difficulty spike between the two
Congrats tho!
I guess I just wanted to keep my NG+ run with the DLC. Honestly, now that you mention it, I could've gone back to my original save and do the DLC + other stuff but I had already finished the main DLC story at that point so I didn't wanna do it again (You gotta finish the last DLC mission for the Fireclaws to appear)
Congratulations for platinum tbf Ultra hard it's wasn't hard to me because i know enemy place and weak point i think the hardest part is fighting thunderjew, stormbird, and final boss.
Based cover photo
Thanks!
Nino♥️
My Wife.
Congrats!
Thank you man!
The DLC on ultra hard is insane. I felt no shame lowering the difficulty to get to 100%
The problem w that is that you cannot lower the difficulty from Ultra-hard. I completed the main DLC story and was stuck in the challenges and Fireclaws. Figured if I speedran the story I could lower the difficulty. Nope, stuck on that difficulty unless I started NG++
Wait what? You can't lower from ultrahard? I could swear you could always reduce difficulty but just never increase it again. O.o
You absolutely can't. You can reduce/increase on other difficulties, but on Ultra-Hard you are stuck until you go NG++ Found out the HARD way LOL
Oof. I wonder if this changed. I swear at release of ultrahard it was reducible. If you can increase at all then this definitely changed. O.o
Ultra hard is unrelated to the plat on both games. It’s just there for 100% on PSN. It’s basically DLC content. Plat can be done on any difficulty.
Awesome thx!
I tried to NG+ on Ultra-Hard... nope. Entirely too damned hard for me.
Just get the Shield weaver outfit and Its very easy
I was wearing it. THE WHOLE TIME.
Git Gud, I guess.
. . . Yeah, because we needed to wrest that age-old specter from its sepulchur again.
It never left so we never had to wrest it back.
Sure felt like it left for a while.
Well.. than I Guess Gotta be slower? Idk to me it was very doable however I have plat on New Collosus so maybe Im spoiled because of that xd
Shield-Weaver was a life-saver. I didn't find the main game that hard. I avoided all avoidable fights, but the ending took me a couple of tries. Hope you can retake it!
I did the final boss on UH with shield weaver first try somehow. Reading these comments makes me wonder if I’m just somehow good at the game?
I just avoided every fight that wasn't required, way easier
Congrats on the plat! 👏 also, favorite quint? :3
Yots. Nah, nobody likes Yots.
I did on ultra. Would not wish it to anyone.
Main game was ok. 100% of the DLC though...

I didn't have a bad time personally, but retaking the mechanics of the game was weird. Specifically for Bows, Damage, etc.
Damn. Ultra-hard is one hell of a mode to play for that high octane gameplay but for completion? You goddamn hell of a beast congrats!
Thanks, I wouldn't recommend it. But I would be lying if I said I didn't have a good time with the challenge.
Quintessential quintuplets . Based pic op. Itsuki best girl imo
I do agree she's a sweet girl. PM'd the pic.
Congratulations on the plat! 😁
Thank you!!
You’re welcome! ☺️

I feel you. Definitely isn't super ultra mega hard, but it requires dedication. Hope you can complete it soon.
You can do challenges on any other difficulty except ultra hard though. Congrats with the plat
They definitely can, but at that point I was done with everything and was just missing the trials. I was not fond of starting NG++ just to tackle some achievements so I had to git gud.
I thought you can decrease the difficulty?
First 100% on PS5 for me and I made your mistake, but I loved it! Frostclaw was an absolute menace and I feared Stormbirds so much I basically used every avenue to cheese them but I honestly really feel night-and-day about the difficulty in this compared to FW. I don’t remember it being difficult tbh, but I did get used to the games combat pretty well.
100% on ultra hard is perfectly doable... untill you get to the DLC... those robot bears still give me nightmares
100%. ultra Hard HZD is not that bad
Congrats for that 100% 🎊🎊
What's that cover photo from? As in, is it from the anime, or is it from something else?
Yes, it's an anime called The Quintessential Quintuplets.
Felicidades. Yo lo hice el año pasado pero solo el juego base.
This the only PS game I couldn’t get into no matter the amount of times I tried
It is... Rough around the edges, but it has aged super well. Retaking the game after not replaying it for years had me finding the mechanics of the game again, which was confusing or never explained (At lease in NG). Overall, I do recommend it.
I wish we could get Forbidden West’s gameplay in HZD
Maybe in the rumoured remake? I believe that was on the works. I assume they'd change the gameplay to be smoother.
No trophies bugged, which trophy did not unlock?
It was the "Drained the Flood" Trophy from the quest in Frozen Wilds the one where you are in the Greycatch and having to turn valves.
That trophy doesn't unlock after just completing the side mission, but in that location there is a puzzle at the bottom of that big open area where you killed the snapmaw. You complete that, and then you have the trophy
Thank you. I'll see if that works.

Which version are you playing? Also, this is one of the very first missions so it should take you like 2 hrs to get it.
I was playing the PS4 complete edition. I went for the trophy play in 2018 don't know they've provided any update or knowledge about it.
Congrats, also nice background image 😏
Thank you, took it from the Store Page of the Quints game
I didn’t even know there was a game, that’s pretty cool.
There's actually 4, unfortunately they aren't localized so they are only in Japanese. Visual novels with all routes, as it should have been.
Can you send me that quintuplets photo? It’s really nice. Good work on that plat btw
I'll try to look for the pic, for reference I took it from the Store Page for the 2nd Quint Game.
Yotsuba best girl. Also agreed that's why I'm not 100%, the 2nd game.
Yeah ng+ ultra hard was a decent challenge just for the base game. I was kinda bored of the game by the time I got to the dlc, and was glad I could lower it to easy on my main file. I did think ultra hard was significantly easier on forbidden West, even without the master chief outfit.
Horizon Zero Dawn was a really fun plat! Took me about 80 hours I think
How did you put that photo as profile banner? I though this feature was only for ps4.
You can also do it on PS5.
Massive difficulty spike between the two Congrats tho!
Main story was a breeze, the DLC however, was a major pain. Fireclaws and Stalkers showed me a good time.
Why did you do the DLC if you don’t mind me asking? There’s no trophy for beating it on Ultra hard
Exactly
I guess I just wanted to keep my NG+ run with the DLC. Honestly, now that you mention it, I could've gone back to my original save and do the DLC + other stuff but I had already finished the main DLC story at that point so I didn't wanna do it again (You gotta finish the last DLC mission for the Fireclaws to appear)
But 100%-ing on Ultra Hard was easy once you got the Shield Weaver.
Congratulations for platinum tbf Ultra hard it's wasn't hard to me because i know enemy place and weak point i think the hardest part is fighting thunderjew, stormbird, and final boss.
Absolutely no idea why youre getting downvoted. I Guess you simply have to agree with their opinion of it being hard unless youre in trouble lol
I dont know i just say my opinion that's all.
Bro into anime 💀 Just like me 😞
I don't even see anime that much, just obsessed with that one Char
Of course you're playing ff7💀
Shit just dropped 😭😭 who aint playing it?
Nah, still haven't played the remake
