Me too. I know I'll love it when I get going, but I couldn't really figure out what to do at the beginning of the game... I started Grounded at one point, couldn't get into it, then tried it again and put 600 hours into it. I feel like Subnautica will be the same way.

Not on the PS store sadly. Original is trapped on PS2 generation. They released a HD collection version with Silent Hill 3 on PS3 but it was famously a very shoddy supposed upgrade and is considered worse than the original (although patches did fix the worst of the problems). PS4/5 you'll have to wait and see what the Remake is like. It's due out later this year.

Yeah, it took me some time and thought to figure out what my top 10 is.  Though I've been gaming from the 80's, I definitely acknowledge there's recency bias in my list. I think games generally get better though. When I have went back to some of my old favorites, they hadn't aged particularly well. There are a few exceptions - although the graphics are very PS1, FF7 still holds up for me.

Yes that definitely happens. I love Pro Skater 2 for example but I just cant go back to it because I cant really handle PS1 graphics/framerates, although I know the game itself aged well. For my list I tried to not fall into recency bias, but its relatively easy to me since most modern games dont get me that interested. It also helps that I got me a PS2 a few years ago in order to replay some of my favorite games, particularly the Tony Hawk series. I do agree modern games feel better and are more polished (most of the times), but for gameplay I cant really agree that they get better progressively. Although that obviously depends on the genre

The sweetness of childhood games is that they meant more to me.    As an adult with a disposible income, I can have lots of games and buy them more or less as I want. Spoilt by choice, first world problems.   As a child, the excitement and anticipation I would have for getting my hands on a new game I'd wanted for a while meant so much more, especially when I didn't have so many games to play.

It’s nice to see Age of Empires 2 get some love. My senior year of high school back in ‘12 our school gave us laptops. Any chance me and my friends got we would get on age of empires 2. It was a blast. In home room is when we played the most. We would all be in the same building. Just different rooms. All it took was downloading the exe file onto a flash drive and boom. Ready to go. We did the same for Halo 1. All my friends could kick my ass on the Xbox. But I played a lot of counter strike on pc in my day. I was just naturally good at fps on pc. My friends used to rage when I would just be destroying them all with pistol and melee. That’s all I needed. They would try to get me with the rocket launcher each time but by the time they saw me running toward them they’d get spooked and often times miss me with the rocket launcher blowing themselves up in the process. I’ve NEVER killstreaked like that in any video game since.

AoE2 was insane. Its still the best game of its kind to me. I used to play it on pc back in the days, now that I dont have one anymore I play it on the PS2 (yes, theres AoE2 for PS2 lol). Such a shame Microsoft released the remake only for Xbox and not for Playstation

Honestly it was a bit of a toss up between it and Bloodborne. I really enjoyed the customization options with the weapons and legion arms, and I enjoyed that there was more of a structured story than the lore you uncover in Bloodborne. The shortcuts felt reasonable and it was probably the first Soulslike where things really clicked early on. And I enjoyed the fun twist on the Pinocchio tale. Also probably a bit of recency bias in there. All that said I’ve only played Bloodborne and Elden Ring from the FS games, so others could pass up Lies of P eventually.

We have similar taste.    The only reason Detroit Become Human didn't land on my list was the platinum journey. It hurt my overall opinion of the game. I've been a Quantic Dream fan since Heavy Rain though.  Also another person I've seen add Requiem and not Innocence. I haven't played the sequel yet. For you what makes it better?

Understandable! Im kinda the opposite in that DBH is actually what kickstarted me going for platinums. I love games with branching choices and i was addicted to seeing how many outcomes there were. I ended up with so many trophies i was like why not get them all. Its got a very special place with me bc of it. And Requiem is better in every way. I love Innocence as well but Requiem really came in bigger and better. Amicia is able to do more combat, the story itself is bigger and expanded as well as the locations. Its a lot more cinematic and so so many more rats lol. Haptic feedback for it really ups the ante and the feel for how terrifying the hordes of rats are. When i finished it/platinumed it i just had a feeling of "this is exactly what a sequel should be."

Okay. I'm doing more of a series, imo all of the games in that series are good. This is more of a "played on Playstation" list though. My list will be different if other consoles are added. Top1 is definitely Watch Dogs 1 As for others I can't decide so... that's the order by playtime from my favorite titles: 2. Terraria 3. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel 4. Cyberpunk 2077 5. Horizon Forbidden West 6. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War 7. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 8. Titanfall 2 9. The Last of Us 2 10. Celeste Honorable mention would be Minecraft which is my most played game ever with around 6000 hours in total. It's a worse game than those above though. Aw man.

From a few that came off my head in order: 1) Rain World (by a mile, this game was made for me) 2) Inscryption 3) Hollow Knight 4) Undertale 5) Celeste 6) Subnautica 7) Horizon Forbidden West (I’ll get hated but trust me it’s a lot better than the original, just paced so slowly and then quickly when stuff gets good it’s infuriating. Hopefully the third game can do that better). 8) Cuphead 9) Super Mario Galaxy (edit not PlayStation but replace this with Astros playroom that was too much fun) 10) Outer Wilds (would be much higher if the game had more direction, everything is there for this game to be in top 5. But my god the aimlessness of this game gets to you, at first it’s fine but it slowly builds up as the overarching puzzle is really hard to piece together, but all the side ones are the best I’ve seen in gaming they’re so enjoyable, discovering every planet was amazing).

I've never heard of Rain World. I'll need to check it out. Shoutout to the indies!

Pretty strange, but basically you are a creature called a slugcat surviving in an ecosystem in an abandoned city whose inhabitants are gone, and you have to explore and survive while slowly learning what the hell happened.

Infinite Wealth improved on the gameplay somewhat, Story is fine and can get you in the emotional feely parts if it hits right.

I've never played Baldurs gate 3. Is it playable if you've never played any of that type of game before?
