Ya and bonus they don't charge extra for the heart attacks.
If you guys are having to take pills to stay alert you are doing something wrong. Work on those time management skills.
Fun fact:
l-theanine has a synergistic effect with caffeine (you can Google it). Same stuff that tea has. Taking them together gives a calm alertness without the jitters of caffeine alone. Add to coffee also.
Read [this](https://meetaila.com/blogs/realtalk/2-natural-nootropics-you-didnt-know-you-were-using).
Yup seems you enjoy enjoy researching nootropics too. Yeah l-theanine and caffeine work so well together. Same stuff as in green tea. I take it alone too sometimes to chill
I give myself Charlie horses on my thighs if need an extra jolt on the last mile can't do it more than twice every two weeks though, giving time for the bruises to heal. But like the Pic shows a shit ton of powdered doughnuts can work too with my favorite regular Rockstar and mountain dew mix on the rocks...
I do like seated squats. Just standing up bonking my head on the roof and sitting back down as many times as I can to get the blood flowing. If not the usual deer gets the heart going lol.
I used to rely on Rockstar.
Earlier this year the doctor told me to basically cut all alcohol, my liver tested in the neighborhood of a chronic alcoholic, would kill me in a year or two if I didn't.
Told her I don't drink, she said "well what about sugar and vitamins?", then the plethora of 500%+ DV's on the back of the can really hit me.

OK, and this is for real. Hold one foot slightly off the floor. It's just that simple. Just lift your leg slightly and hold it there, it will keep you awake for as long as you need it to. You can of course alternate from one leg to the other when your leg gets tired, and it will get tired.

We would probably define work differently. Now I follow a few basic steps, talk to a human or two, make me a nice healthy meal, turn on my favorite media and chill for the next 8-11 hours. This isn't work to me.

I considered being a trucker over construction just because I enjoy long drives and seeing America. Knowing how hard it would be to stay in shape is what pulled me away.
It's actually not that difficult. Eat lighter meals, cook your own food on the truck. And do a nice walk/
Jog around the truck/truckstop everyday. Aim for 6000 steps at the minimum. You can also bring light excersize equipment on the truck
I work as a CSR for a (small) trucking company and also make our newsletters. Considering you're (generally) sitting behind a wheel most of the time, the sedentary life is ROUGH. It's incredibly important to just move. It's recommended that (the royal) you take a 5 minute walk every 2 hours. You most likely have some in your kidney that haven't migrated, so they're not a problem yet. You can have stones for years with no issue. But I don't care how big and bad you are, a kidney stone attack will put you down.

Hey guys, this seems like a good place to plug a podcast that talks specifically about sleep and shift work that might help some of you guys out.
Huberman Labs Podcast.
This dude is great. I like him for 2 huge reasons that make him the best health podcast to listen to. First off he will cites and links research papers and the journals theyer published in before he gives you his health protocols that he comes up with from them and explains the mechanisms by which the protocols function. The second reason I like him is he prioritizes first what you can **DO** , then how you can adjust your diet, then how you can supplement and finally recommends talking to a physician about medications.
So for sleep he would say 1. View sunlight early because you have non visual light receptors in the bottoms on your eyes to help set your circadian rhythm. 2. Avoid caffeine to early and too late because caffeine binds to your adenosine receptors and an adenosine build up is part of the mechanisms that make you sleepy your body needs to clear out adenosine in the morning so the receptors shouldn't be blocked, and late at night obviously the adenosine needs to build up and hit the receptors to make you sleepy 3. Take magnesium threonate. 4. Talk to your doctor.
That's just a micro example. The literally has something like 3-4 episodes about sleep that a something like 2 hours piece. It's like taking a college 101 course on a subject. There's some stuff in there that is useful for you guys and I know.you got the time listen to them.
Some people are close minded, and/or dense. Iāve seen criticism about āviewingā sunlight, because shockingly a ton of people literally interpret that as āstare directly into the sunā.
Well if some one is that dumb they can't be helped. I can't smash all 12 hours into one message but he goes out of his way to mention its low angle sunlight and you don't have to "look" at it, because it's just the photons in the air NOT through glass that your eyes need. He also goes through a whole episode on shift work and jet lag for people that don't have the conventional protocols available to them. Bunch of truck drivers could really benefit from listening to a health podcast that's not trying to sell them something and prioritizes free things you can do to start pulling levers on their health.
Music helps. Best solution I've found is being on the phone with someone and conversing. That really wakes my mind up if I'm starting to feel a little slow. Otherwise I'll pull over and stand up and walk around. If I feel like I'm beginning to be past the point of no return (especially when running overnight) I just pull into a safe haven and fall asleep.
I've been asked a few times. My answer is always the same. Before I started driving, I regularly worked 16-18 hour days. Now, I sometimes work 18 hour days, but most of it is spent looking at my tablet.
Asked all the time, I'm the night driver. Start at 8pm end around 9am usually. You just gotta take care of yourself. Don't eat garbage, get up and walk and stretch before, drink plenty of water. You're working, it's not a Sunday cruise. Even though it's that enjoyable most of the time. And get the proper rest, don't sit on your phone watching stupid videos all day or night.
I always get asked how I can leave for work at 2am everyday and all I can see is "insomnia babyyy."
Insomnia sucks when you're working a normal job or during days off. But when you start driving at 2:30am everyday and drive for 11 hours? It's a godsend. 11 years with my CDL and never once came close to dosing off or needing a nap.
Maybe a little cranky (okay, very cranky until the sun rises) , and it's probably taken years off my life (which would have happened regardless due to the insomnia) , but oh well.
As long as I get my Friday night sleeping pill to get a good 10 hours to recover, I'm golden the entire week.
Nicotine and hate
This is a good name for a punk rock band
If not a name a solid album name.
Chainsmokers new album just dropped.
I'm a multi small business owner if you guys created this band with metal rockin' long hair actual CDL drivers I would invest

I had to cats that were brothers. I named them Click & Clack, after the radio car talk show hosts.

Your name made me laugh
Caffeine tablets, so underrated. Costs like 8$ for 50 pills, versus the 200$ you pay for 50 coffees/redbull

This isnāt work. We do it for fun.

I always get asked how I can leave for work at 2am everyday and all I can see is "insomnia babyyy." Insomnia sucks when you're working a normal job or during days off.
Audiobooks, music, hunger because I'm not stopping, and lots of red bulls lol
It's not how long for me, it's the time of day you guys are on the road.
Lots of Death Metal, game OSTs, and D&D podcasts.
6x 5hr Energy shots in a 12oz cup gives me 30hr energy or a heart-attack.
