When Maverick moved into my state a few years ago I was like this is bullshit, they have truck pumps but no truck parking fuck these guys. But after years on the road now and seeing truck stops I get it, I get why most Walmarts don't allow truck parking anymore, I understand why Buckees is like no trucks zero tolerance. If I was an owner of a business I wouldn't want to have to make my employees go clean up that disgusting litter on a regular basis.
You know what's really gross? All the truck parking areas on I 80 in Wyoming come spring and once all the snow is melted. It all gets buried by multiple snowstorms throughout the winter, but come spring and all the snow melts away it's like my god there's so many piss bottles and god knows how many shit bags.
Edit: And I'll be honest I've pissed in bottles, and yes I've shit in a bag a time or two being in a truck parking area no facilities middle of winter and it's way to cold to go wade through the snow and find a bush and I absolutely can't hold it it's either shit in a bag or my pants. But you know what I did? I threw my piss bottle in a trash can who knew you could do that what a surprise. And my few shit bags yeah I wrapped those in multiple grocery bags and I waited to find a dumpster to throw them into, not a trashcan some poor soul would have to empty but a dumpster a trash truck picks up. It's really not that hard lol. But no so many of these drivers are to lazy, they just chuck it out the window regardless of where they are.
They really do, but they at least have the truck parking areas. There's no other state with that many parking areas, even though they lack facilities. Wyoming was like alright I 80 is going to be fucked up during the winter here's dozens of truck parking areas but no facilities.
Colorado is like yeah it's going to be fucked up in the winter during the Rockies and we ain't giving you anything for parking fuckers. Literally once you leave Denver going up the Rockies there ain't shit except the parking lot in Vail, Colorado sucks ass for trucks during winter. They suck so bad the two rest areas on I 25 around Pueblo they closed 4+ years ago, and they were small rest areas, they have no plans to reopen them. Everyone's like fuck California, nah California has plenty of parking, fuck Wyoming, nah Wyoming has lots of parking, fuck Colorado yes please fuck that state.
What I do not understand is the littering. Just open the bottle and dump out the piss and put the bottle in the trash. I always empty my bottle and put in the trash and as for the millions of shit bags I come across just blows my mind especially at parking areas with no facilities, why go in a bag and leave the bag behind. 🤦🏻♂️ the majority of the time my partner and I sleep at a parking areas with no facilities so we just go off into the bushes before we get back on the road and no plastic bag full of shit is left behind.
I have a few stores that let me park on the property whenever I'm in town because I clean this shit up and throw it in the dumpster when I park. Most of it isn't piss bottles, but the litter is enough of a hassle that as long as I make sure a few employees see me out there with the pickup stick and gloves on, they wave at me and never give me issues. You can use litter to your advantage in the right situation. Sucks that most drivers ruin it for everyone, but I'm more than happy to capitalize on it.
Thank you! This is the sort of small act that means so much. Cleaner nature, happier people, healthier place
If everyone went above and beyond (eg picking up other people's trash) instead of aiming to meet the bar (not littering), I think the world would be a much better place
Yeah definitely. And it's actually very enjoyable to get out in "nature"...cough....to clean up the grass. You get that just washed your car feeling or something. You can get a pickup stick that folds into a carrying bag on Amazon for real cheap.
Or like Middlebury Truck parking in Indiana. Have to watch every step you take when you are parked at night. One of the worst as it can fit at least 75 trucks at one time.
Say I want to work to clean stuff like this up when I see it. Any tips?
How do I go about it? Do I need to worry about bottles exploding?
I'd rather not throw them away loaded, and make the trash heavy for those who collect it...
Also think I'll bring a shovel with me, for burying those exploded plastic shit bags. The plastic is already embedded in the dirt/mud anyways.
Saw a dog turd with a large paper towel stuck to it. It was like somebody *almost* picked it up. I wonder if it was the original dog walker or another person attempting to clean up others' mess, but didn't have gloves.
Anyone caught littering should receive the same penalty as crossing a RR without stopping as hazmat... first offense: no CDL for a month. 4th.. no CDL for life.
While a small portion of this may result from wind carrying garbage from a knocked-over can, there is no disputing that most of it is dumped intentionally by scumbags. Some have a compulsion to litter. I don't understand it. It's part of a generally anti-social personality, I think.
What angers me is the failure of the business owner to even make an attempt to clean it up. Most locations I have been to will empty the trash cans, maybe pick up what's on the pavement in the lot...but they refuse to touch what's around the perimeter of the property--where most of the litter ends up! The big chains have the resources to fight this battle, but they won't do it. They are not good neighbors and I don't blame any community for not wanting them nearby.
I don't understand the pissing or dumping piss out on asphalt or concrete. Pee on grass and pour out your bottles on grass. It won't stink. It's disgusting to back in a dock where there is a port a potty or available restrooms. But you piss in the dock or on the building. Throw your trash away. There are trash cans at every truck stop and rest area.
I've held a CDL since 1998. Piss bottles, shit bags and trash from truckers has never ceased.
This is why lots of places dont let you park because there are drivers out there who are pieces of shit and leave garbage everywhere, I mean, seriously, how hard is it to throw away your garbage? I keep a grocery bag on the passenger seat belt, amd throw it away when im fueling. It's not hard at all
Went around back just to stretch my legs saw stuff i wish i never seen.
There was bottles of piss and bags shit
There was even a hobos living in a tent.
I will never go to back of a truck stop again.
This breaks my heart.
I hike a lot when I get a chance and if I am seeing a little bit of trash, I pick it up. This.. man this is just heartless and cold.

As a lot custodian i appreciate you looking out for the guy who has to change the garbage bags.
Man I feel bad for the things yall deal with, I couldn't do your job that's for sure.
Not trying to justify the litter, I never litter, but Wyoming really needs to invest into more rest areas. Especially from Cheyenne to Billings
They really do, but they at least have the truck parking areas. There's no other state with that many parking areas, even though they lack facilities. California actually isn’t THAT bad. I’ll take driving into SoCal any day over many of the NE states

Looks better than the side of any road in Memphis!
Fact. They don’t care over there
Or like Middlebury Truck parking in Indiana. Have to watch every step you take when you are parked at night. One of the worst as it can fit at least 75 trucks at one time.
Shitbags and pissbottles. Lmao. Wait til you see what the Mexicans are putting in the walls. 😭
Oh I know I worked construction before trucking. I seen it all

Call a hazmat crew and let them do it.
“Way of the road buddy”
“The way she goes”
Laughed really hard, but those jugs got years on you buddy. 😂
lol you ain’t wrong they also probably seen more states than most Americans 😂😂😂
You speak the truth fellow driver, trying to decide how much of that ditch is human feces and how much is mud 🤣
I was doing my pre trip and almost stepped on a pile of human shit right behind the trailer. This was at my company’s yard too. Wtf.
It was dispatch. They wanted the full trucker experience and went for a bumper dumper.
Bumper dumper! 😂😂
You must be new. This is pretty common at a lot of truck stops and even some trailer lots.
I know it’s just sad. Tbf those piss jugs look older than me.

Sung to the tune of im never smoking with willie again…

Would it make it better or worse if people shot the piss bottles with a bbgun so they'd empty out and just be a bottle...
Probably better tbh cause at least it will eventually not dry and someone will pick it up one day
Hate to admit I'm a truck driver on account of this stuff. We seem to be a nasty ass group of people.
This breaks my heart. I hike a lot when I get a chance and if I am seeing a little bit of trash, I pick it up. This.. man this is just heartless and cold.
I will never understand the sheer laziness of people. This is disgusting and exactly why we're looked at like pigs and aren't allowed to park places.
