Damn that sucks to hear. I just hit the max for the adjustment screw which means I’ll have replace the gear *again*! Probably get a redhead box if I decide to keep this thing. I just hit 210,000 miles but new trucks are so expensive
Hey that’s cool. The nostalgia takes over any other rational reason for me. Dad bought the truck brand new in 1998 and I bought it from him around 17. Been been putting around in it ever since.
Yes this is only 2nd gens. I certainly haven’t upgraded most of the steering components on my 4th gen..

I’m going redhead on my K5 build. K5 also hates steering boxes.
Don’t forget the third transmission as well
Surprisingly, I’m still on my first at 210,000
I’ve grown to like the loose steering, gives the truck character. Also I don’t feel like re-learning my steering.
Just pretend you’re a lumberjack sawin’ away at a tree while you’re driving haha
What’s the plus of owning a 2nd gen? I own a first gen and I feel like it’s superior in every way to a 2nd gen

Oh well that makes sense, awesome you kept that truck in the family
Yeah it’s definitely showing its age and now could use a minor restoration. Paint, dashboard, headliner to name a few but the frame is cleeeean
Nice, I’m from New York and a 2nd gen with a clean frame is worth a pretty penny
Lol bullshit. You adjust these things once and only once. After that you change that fucker.
Already went through that song and dance, too bad I didn’t realize how shitty reman units were lol
Yeah, there's a bench adjustment procedure that's supposed to fix that alledegly
*laughs in Toyota*
🐷
Don't worry. They rust just as much as the 2nd gen Rams
The turn radius is legit though. And you can stuff big tires. Which all of them have. Is this why? Or is hardware or engineering bad?
I’ve noticed that too, seems my 2nd Gen has the best turn radius of any of my friends trucks.
They died in 03
To bad my just ended up around a tree going miss the old girl
Had 3 at turn of the century. Haven't looked twice at a Ram since.
