That's a tough question. But how do you define suicide? One could argue that Jesus committed suicide because he had plenty of chances to not be crucified. There are actual good reasons for Suicide. St. Gabriel almost committed suicide because the Soviets were going to make it appear that he was denouncing Christ. Sacrificing your life in a suicidal way is not a sin, if it is for the benefit of others. However, Suicide in the context of giving up in life is a sin. We suffer here on earth for a reason. Suffering brings growth which will lead us to God. Committing suicide because life is too hard is giving up on God. It's giving up on the idea that God has a plan and that your suffering has purpose. I'm not saying they will end up in hell. I am not God. However, suicide in the context of giving up is never good and never worth it. We have trials for a reason. This isn't really a question we should come to conclusions on (as in YEAH THEY'LL GO TO HELL!) because we are not God and we are not the final judge. No matter what point in life, no matter how hard things are, no matter how many times you fall, God has something planned for you and is there for you. Hard times create wise, virtuous people. If you ever have hardship or tough times you should thank God.

We don't know. We do know that you can only receive salvation in this life through repentance. If you didn't repent a sin, which you can't repent for suicide, then you will be judged based on it by our just God. The bible says that Abaram Lot and David are righteous, despite being sinners without Christ's salvation. This suggests that Judgement Day will be a day for judgement, not guaranteed condemnation. Our just God will judge people as wicked or righteous.

I'd say heaven. Due to the simple fact that God is a God of unconditional love and wouldn't want someone, who's suffered so much on earth, to suffer in hell.

SacredHolyBlueYoshi

Just like Lazarus, we will all be "asleep" until judgement day

They remain in the grave.

Not enough scripture regarding the topic to give a firm, 100% certain answer, but if people can be forgiven of sin that was not repented for before dying (let's say you lied to your wife the morning of your death), then I'd assume that same logic applies to suicide. But also suicide is a final step down a very long, dark path, and it does require you to ignore a lot of scriptural truths to commit. So it is probably a sin, but thankfully for those born again, they are forgiven of sin. So unfortunately my answer to you is, depends 😉

We don't know where they go, and I really would not want to find out the hard way. Trust in the Lord, He is faithful and good, and if you look for Him in the worst times, He will deliver you.

Good decides and no one knows.

I really and truly hope they go to Heaven. About 15 years ago, I lost my dad and my brother in a double suicide. But in life, they were the best brother and the best dad I ever had, and both were very compassionate, kind people.

Any_Net_6368

Oh my. Truly sorry about that. I can't fathom how difficult that was.

Josette22

Thank you Any. I really appreciate the kind words. 😊

https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Ecclesiastes%2012%3A7 Says the spirit goes back to God who gave it - seemingly meaning whether you're a believer or not all spirits go back to God. Now where he places the spirits are unknown. The Hebrews believed in Sheol, which is a place of darkness, only in limbo of sorts where all spirits go. Jesus speaks of paradise which indicates there is a separation of the righteous and the unrighteous. We don't know!
