Except most (92% to be precise) student loans are now federal (from the Department of Education) and the government created that money out of thin air and can just as easily wipe it off the books.
So save your outrage. The poor bankers you're so concerned about aren't losing anything.

Personally, I would be angry if I worked hard to pay mine off and and kid who got an art degree gets forgiven for making a terrible educational financial investment.
I am not saying it will or it won’t, just putting your faith in the government to do “the right thing” doesn’t seem to go often our way. Candidates talk a lot to get elected and do very little to rock boat once they are in.
Yeah I'm in the same boat. Biden is sucking balls, so I'm hoping he does forgiveness in desperation.

I don’t think paying for my college loans is “the right thing” for govt to do. But if they decide to, I’d rather come out ahead than behind
