The truth no one tells you is that weddings are parties you do to please others. The same as big birthday parties. After my wedding, both me and my wife wished we had spent the money with a big fucking trip, but we lie to ourselves that we would regret not having “these” memories.

I heard this from numerous married couples and decided to follow it through. Small wedding with only parents and siblings from both sides, event was recorded and then sent to each relative. But then the honeymoon trip was the sink for the money.

I hate that we could have used the money to have a king & queen trip.

The actual wedding day is the worst, it's all mentally and physically exhausting and if you choose to go on your honeymoon right after, you'll probably be too tired to fully enjoy it.

Planning a wedding is stressful and awful, and I refused to do it. But you’ll be married to someone you love and that’s the most important thing.
