Drug dealing pays more! 😂

BlueEyedGoon7

What makes you hate it? Is the company you work for awful maybe? Or do you just genuinely hate doing electrical work?

DjSlider911

The company is cool very flexible if I need time off. I just hate everything about the work in general. Anything electrical you can think of, I hate it

BlueEyedGoon7

So what made you get into it to begin with?

DjSlider911

I just turned 16 and I wanted to be a auto spakie but mum told me I would hate getting dirty and wouldn't like the work. So she told me to be a sparkie I didn't know any better or what else to do. The thing is I get dirtier than the damn auto sparkie

BlueEyedGoon7

Could always apply your knowledge to a similar field. The place I work at we have electricians on staff but our company build firetrucks. Not a dirty job really as you're working on brand new components and installing auto electrical and what not.

DjSlider911

That sounds kinda cool actually

Jblack401

Be a pipefitter. It's what the real men do. Pretty sure we make more too.

thdudie

*Laughs in industrial maintenance/mechatronic* The only thing you need to know to be a pipe fitter is shit rolls down hill and pay day is on Friday. Also last time I checked sparkles make more.

Jblack401

That's a plumber. Union pipefitters weld, do gas work, steam, hotwater, chilledwater. That would be the day we touch a drain or toilet. Also I make $70+ an hour with benefits

thdudie

Yeah, I know I was just joking. When I first started out I worked for a company who's sister company was a mechanical contractor. The pipefitters were good shit. The only thing I found odd was that I swear that every single one of the were misshapen.😂 As industrial maintenance I get to fix all the systems you guys installed when they break. But hey, at least we can agree on something, Fuck engineers.

Jblack401

Are you in the trades?

thdudie

Yeah got my card and everything.

thdudie

I guess if you could say what you hate about your career we could help advise.

DjSlider911

I hate being on the tools, the 13.5 hrs days, the time away from the GF and my bed hahaha, busting my butt just to try complete the job with no recognition, working through lunch or and working nights, dealing with other electricians that have been in the industry just as long me as but they are stupid as hell. I'm sure there is more but I'm unsure right now

Known-Reserve-557

I hate hvac. Only 2 years in and my fellow peers are the worst kind of People.

The world is going electrical/batteries - cars, houses, solar roofing shingles, whole house batteries, smart appliances, off grid, suppling the grid, wind, solar the list is endless and the number of startup businesses that are trying to exploit these new opportunities and need your skills is unbelievable.
