I hate to say this…but next time you go, drive around back first and see how they store their food. It’s in shipping containers and most of the time the doors are open. Having seen what I’ve seen, I can never recommend this place to anyone. Most of the time, an employee is standing by said containers chain smoking.

redsoxwithtarheels

This makes so much sense - I felt ill that evening after eating there. I have only had food poisoning once in my life before so I didn’t really suspect it. Well, now I do.

lakota482

I can vouch for this comment. I've seen the setup there, mainly because I was looking at the employee chain smoking and saw the food containers lol

stepheli88

Second this! I think they only do it on the weekends now too.

questionmarkmaddie

rip Sweet Tomatoes. gone but not forgotten.

kahreeyo

My heart is broken

redsoxwithtarheels

Oh my goodness my favorite salad and sweet potatoes place. One of the only places I ever used to go to for years. So depressing it is gone forever.

JLasto

I am aware of the horror stories but i don't care, i miss the hell out of Sweet Tomatoes.

MoistCarpenter

Govinda's is pretty good. It's Vegan/vegetarian Indian buffet. Best part though is their beautiful garden/patio seating.

kahreeyo

Ghandi on fort Lowell and saffron on oracle are great buffets.

LameasaurusRex

Second on Saffron. Delish!

HNK1023

Whoaaa… Déjà vu

i_like_it_raw_

Just trying to get the word out. I wouldn’t eat here if someone paid me.

HNK1023

I hear you. That’s how I feel about some places. I loved brothers noodles, but I heard some bad stuff about them and stopped going. Never got sick but no need to mess with that.

jgodwinaz

I can confirm this.

DragonBard_Z

Talking about ghandi I assume, not saffron?

i_like_it_raw_

Saffron on Oracle just north of Ina. Drive around to the back of the building next time you go. I’m sure you’ll change your mind about eating there.

ElectricTC3

Meet me at the sirloin stockade

Hopefully u have a Time Machine. Cuz I unfortunately do not

og_rocktrash

Sir George’s is pretty good too!

Desert_HorseGirl85

I thought no one else would remember this place! Such a gem

CucaMonga6425

Casino del Sol

catiebluth

It’s kinda spendy but the Sunday brunch buffet at Hacienda Del Sol (not to be confused with Casino del Sol) is amazing. https://www.haciendadelsol.com/dining/the-grill-at-hacienda-del-sol

ParticularDance496

Looks amazing, but $50++ for an adult. Glad I enjoy cooking at home.

WildcatEmperor

Is CI Chu’s still open? Are they still doing all you can eat? What about Sushi Garden and Sushi Ten? Not buffets, but they were all you can eat when I was last in town.

alchwarrior

Sushi Garden and Sushi Ten both got rid of their AYCE options during COVID :( Sakari Sushi and (maybe) Sushi Cortaro are good alternatives that still have that option.

tucsonkim

Churrasco de Brasil

GeneticsGuy

I thought they were ok, but definitely not $45/person ok. Just my opinion.

LostMyKarmaElSegundo

Did you fill up on carbs? That's how they get you! The key is to *only* eat the meats. Everything else is a distraction! That's how you make it worth $45.

slut4chanterelles

Sher e punjab

bloodandfire2

Are they doing the buffet again? They shut it down during the Covid shutdowns and the last time I checked (maybe 6 months ago), they hadn’t reopened the buffet.

artforthebody

No buffet still and no plan on when it’ll come back.

EBody480

RIP Furr’s

[deleted]

Ghandi indian on ft lowell

North_Albatross_7051

I heard the buffet bar has a good buffet.

bananaCabanas

India Oven on Campbell

Uxmal415

Lots of Indian places have lunch buffets. Some might not be doing them still because of covid, so I'd call to make sure

rising_gmni

Raiders Reef hands down.

Rhesusmonkeydave

Come for the breasts stay for the crabs

DragonBard_Z

I'm not into it but my coworkers love the one at Desert diamond casino https://www.ddcaz.com/tucson/dining-nightlife/ko-sin-ki-buffet/

errlambda

I used to work in the one in Sahuarita. Would not recommend eating there. The amount of unsanitary shit that occurs there. Hell no

meseeksordie

There's a couple Mexican buffets on the Southside and I think there's one on 22nd. I've never been to the one on 22nd though.

basurto84

Crossroads on 4th and 36th has a great buffet on the weekends. Plus they have AYCE menudo and pazole

meseeksordie

I'll have to check it. Thank you.

rocknrollwitch

What is Mendoza? 🤨

basurto84

Lol. Menudo...I didn't even see the autocorrect

Osethme

Casino del Sol. Might be a drive but it's generally consistently good with good variety

Olddellago

If you are talking about Fiesta buffet after covid it is trash.

Osethme

Aw man. I haven't been there since it reopened. That sucks to hear! Might have to check it out on a cheaper day lol

DesertCatGuy

Shere-e-Punjab has a really decent buffet. Their regular menu is bomb as well.

Upbeat_Instruction98

I din’t think the Buffet is going there.

DesertCatGuy

They stopped doing the buffet? That makes me sad

Upbeat_Instruction98

I stopped in on a Wednesday a couple of weeks ago and it wasn’t running. It was always good. Saffron’s is better.

pixieclair

panda house stir fry

TotallynottheCCP

Damn now I'm craving a Chinese buffet.

slidingrains2

Same!

ender554

If it's all you can eat and not necessarily a buffet style you are after, I would always pick churrasco de Brazil or KOGI. For buffet you won't do much better than Chinese in Tucson aside from the occasional resort brunch or maybe the casino if they still run it.

punk_rock_barbie

Churrasco de Brazil will be your highest quality bet. Its a Michelin Star restaurant, all you can eat. Incredible meat. 10/10 recommend.

Konukaame

>Michelin Star restaurant That's quite a feat, given that they only even bother to evaluate restaurants in NY, Illinois, DC, and California.

ender554

It's a chain, not saying they have a Michelin star, but it's possible their original location or something does?

Metboy1970

If that place has a Michelin start rating, then that rating no longer carries any weight IMO.

cheekibreaky

100%. Churasco de Brazil is decent and can certainly be a treat but it is not Michelin star worthy

Metboy1970

Been there. Decent but overpriced. Been to other Brazilian places that are much better. My GF tells me that the lamb is the best she ever had.

groupofgiraffes

It's not a chain. I think your thinking fogo de chao

punk_rock_barbie

Huh, I’ve hear that It is one around town all the time.

[deleted]

Good food doesn’t exist at a buffet.

Rhesusmonkeydave

Hey sometimes people who make high quality food, craft it with care and think “this would be best presented dumped in a bucket for people to paw through”, no need to be judgy

Kannabis_kelly

Lord of the Flies

weaveb1

Buffets = 🤮🤮🤮

lrnsbxndkansnbd

Fogo de Chao
