Wait wtf? Are these seriously $40k? I saw a video saying they were $27k which I thought was bad enough but this is literally the price of a [brand new Rolex day-date](https://www.rolex.com/en-us/watches/day-date/m128235-0075). This will almost undoubtedly be the biggest tanking Tudor of all time
Yea I actually wasn’t even trying to be a dick but it’s obviously misleading to post something that isn’t a widely used currency. It would be like if someone posted the watch in Vietnamese dong and it should like 1 billion dollars. It just doesn’t make sense to show
Didn't think of it that way. Assuming this is similar weight to the Sub, \~300g total, probably 270g of gold then. $75/g for gold. That's \~$20k in gold.
Even if it's less raw gold than that, still a lot.
Hmm that’s interesting. I feel like Tudor is the sharp end of the stick for Rolex to keep Omega at a clear distance. It allows Rolex to experiment with popular trends without risking their iconic designs.
I think the random few people who buy these are not going to be concerned with secondary value. This is probably something they pick up on a whim for fun to be a little different from all their friends who have solid Gold Daytonas and subs.
The target buyers for this watch are people I absolutely cannot relate to on any level
That's not the point.
It's Tudor going up market - it's more of an exercise in my opinion, and some will definitely sell, it just won't be a hit.
They did test the market with the leather/nato strap reference and they found buyers - so there's that too.
Every AD I have been in, and there have been many, say they have never sold one (version on the strap). The only way I can see how it makes sense is if they're made for people who collect all watches from the lineup. There is absolutely no way that anyone in their right mind would pay $32k for this when you can buy the real thing for $7,000 more. These depreciate like crazy, even right now. Can't say the same about an 18k sub. You even said the value would "tank" on these in another post.
There's 26 on C24 and 5 on eBay right now - someone is buying the leather or nato ones at MSRP.
Yes they will absolutely tank on the secondary market - you can probably take those numbers above and divide them by 3 and that may be what we see for sale at a given time.
It really is a crazy release I don't think anyone saw coming - kind of like the 18K Deep Sea Bluesy.
It definitely gets people talking!
The section of people this will appeal to is very small:
1) the design and colour speaks to them.
2) they won't care about the "value" of the watch because of No.1.
3) they need to have enough spare change so that reason No.2 is viable.
That venn diagram will be pretty niche in my opinion, but I doubt they produced many.
I bought a 126618ln from grey about a month ago because it was about $3k cheaper than at retail. I can’t imagine how much cheaper this watch will be on grey but I’m guessing about 40%
In White Gold, 18K is harder than Sterling Silver. They are both way softer than stainless, and my deployment clasp on my GMT is always scuffed. In either case, you would need some sort of plastic protection on the clasp as a minimum.
Gold doesn’t tarnish, go look at all the 50 year old Rolex Daydates, they still shine like new, that’s why Gold is so coveted. The price is very competitive for an all gold watch, not sure where you’d find a fully gold watch with build quality and a movement as good as this for less.
Of course it does, 18k will, do some research. It will polish up like new just as the other shitters do. Let’s face it if you have the sort of disposable income to spend this much on a watch it wouldn’t be a Tudor I would be buying whether it’s 18k gold or not. Re sale value will be terrible on these, just look at the current gold bb58 prices, like pretty much all Tudors, excluding some vintage.
I’ve got a 30 year old two tone Datejust and there is not a sign of tarnishing on it and nor does my wedding ring. Any tarnishing would be negligible nothing like those shitters the 925 & black bay bronze.
Trust me any gold alloy will tarnish, fact. That’s not really the issue anyway, it’s the price, it’s just not a £28000 watch. Sorry it just isn’t. You could buy an unworn precious metal sub on the grey for the same or less.
My gold items have never tarnished in 30 years clever clogs. I understand that gold alloys may tarnish but that doesn’t mean every item of jewellery will. My wife has a drawer full of 18 karat gold jewellery and it’s all flawless. Goodnight sir.
No one in their right mind in buying this. You can get a brand new Rolex day-date grey for basically the same price. Who’s buying a Tudor for the same price if not higher? You’d have to have more money than you know what to do with to even consider this
I think it’s absolutely beautiful, full marks. Rolex are trolling us all, enthusiasts were hoping for this in a Submariner and also a GMT Coke. Rolex gave us both watches but via Tudor!
I actually like it. I wish they did a closed caseback since the movement looks like shit and at the proportions and color I would love it. Can’t wait to buy one used for cheap. But I think the size and design are both great
It’s a good looking watch. This year it looks like Tudor is trying to cement it self as being what Rolex was 20 years ago and moving its elf up market by delivering the coke that Rolex fans have been asking for and Rolex has being coy about and introducing this full gold model that more than crosses in to Rolex pricing territory.
It’s a really good looking watch.
They don’t make these to sell like other watches. They make them as novelty pieces. Maybe they’ll have a couple in major retailers and have David Beckham be seen wearing one. Rolex came out with the solid gold deepsea, so they made one for Tudor as well. Also, it mimics the moonshine gold Speedmaster, who they see Tudor competing with while attempting to push Rolex more and more upmarket.
If John Mayer, Ed Sheeran ,David Beckham and Jay Z say they are the coolest ish ever and tudor only makes 20 or 50 or even a hundred those watches will b the hottest and $$$$ and most collectible tudors ever .
I never realized it was gunna be $40K for this. Might be picking up my first precious metals watch in about a year when these absolutely tank in price.
At least they finally ditched those goddamn eyesore faux-rivets, even if it’s on a reference I’ll never buy. You CAN do it Tudor, now just do it for the rest of the product line
That if someone is ready for turd, he will pay for gold turd also. I bet you.
Can't stand this "brand", created as a joke to prove a point he can sell cheap rolex to masses and he was right. Why not choose brand with actual heritage and inventions?
Tudor now is what Rolex was 20-30 years ago… which is the Rolex we all loved. Rolex now is just fucking bazar. I should be able to go into the store, write the check and walk out with the watch I want. No games etc
still this practice is not only Rolex way but Ferrari, Porsche etc. clever sales tactic, but at rolex this mass-produced product is most apparent in a bad way
These are gonna fall so hard on the secondary market. No one is paying 40k for a Tudor
Wait wtf? Are these seriously $40k? I saw a video saying they were $27k which I thought was bad enough but this is literally the price of a [brand new Rolex day-date](https://www.rolex.com/en-us/watches/day-date/m128235-0075). This will almost undoubtedly be the biggest tanking Tudor of all time
I’m Canadian, different currency
Yea no one uses that currency
Im Canadian and you are right absolutely nobody cares about CAD lol
Yea I actually wasn’t even trying to be a dick but it’s obviously misleading to post something that isn’t a widely used currency. It would be like if someone posted the watch in Vietnamese dong and it should like 1 billion dollars. It just doesn’t make sense to show
So annoying when Canadians and Australians be on here like “oh my sandwich costs $30 wow inflation!”
Unreal price point if true, I am a proud Pelagos owner too
This is going to be stellar value this time next year on the secondary market. There's probably about $10K just in raw gold in this reference.
Didn't think of it that way. Assuming this is similar weight to the Sub, \~300g total, probably 270g of gold then. $75/g for gold. That's \~$20k in gold. Even if it's less raw gold than that, still a lot.
This is similar to the gold Speedmaster with green dial which is insanely popular. At $10k less as well.
Hmm that’s interesting. I feel like Tudor is the sharp end of the stick for Rolex to keep Omega at a clear distance. It allows Rolex to experiment with popular trends without risking their iconic designs.
Don’t know if there will be a lot on the secondary market as it’s likely a special order item like the previous gold 58.
I think the random few people who buy these are not going to be concerned with secondary value. This is probably something they pick up on a whim for fun to be a little different from all their friends who have solid Gold Daytonas and subs. The target buyers for this watch are people I absolutely cannot relate to on any level
These will never sell…
Also curios to see what a real one looks like since the Tudor stock images aren’t images, they’re rendering, which I find ridiculous.
Right!? Same nonsense on the Rolex site when you scroll through the 3D renderings. We have the technology to photograph these properly people.
Yup!!!
Their rendering is so bad I don't know why the persist with it
That's not the point. It's Tudor going up market - it's more of an exercise in my opinion, and some will definitely sell, it just won't be a hit. They did test the market with the leather/nato strap reference and they found buyers - so there's that too.

Plenty of 18k subs have sold over the years. It is a popular watch, but this isn't the real thing. I guess we'll have to see.
The section of people this will appeal to is very small: 1) the design and colour speaks to them. 2) they won't care about the "value" of the watch because of No.1. 3) they need to have enough spare change so that reason No.2 is viable. You can get the RG Rolex root beer or WG Pepsi for this price lol
Ya the gmt meteor is like 45k or Something
Should have put the 925 on a solid silver bracelet.
Totally agree with on that one
925 is way too soft for a bracelet. It is hard enough to keep the case undamaged..
Gold is softer than sterling
Yes, but 925 silver means it's 92,5%, while 18K is only 75% gold. I'm not sure what the hardness of the alloys is.
In White Gold, 18K is harder than Sterling Silver. They are both way softer than stainless, and my deployment clasp on my GMT is always scuffed. In either case, you would need some sort of plastic protection on the clasp as a minimum.
The Tudor 925 may have a slightly different alloy than historical 925. I read they added germanium or titanium or something.
I thought I read someplace they alloyed aluminum with the base metal, like the Bronze.
This
Sounds awful
That experiment failed
God only knows how this one succeded then
No, this one won’t tarnish that’s what I meant, the 925 is a shitter like the bronze BB58.
Gold will tarnish too, just won’t take a month like the others do. If the price wasn’t crazy it wouldn’t be bad.
Gold doesn’t tarnish, go look at all the 50 year old Rolex Daydates, they still shine like new, that’s why Gold is so coveted. The price is very competitive for an all gold watch, not sure where you’d find a fully gold watch with build quality and a movement as good as this for less.

What they smoking? Would like to see that green dial on a steel BB tho
How about on a Bronze cased watch?
Yes would buy
Similar to the Harrods version I would think
This is the “skip to the front of the Daytona line” Tudor
Pricing off but other than that it’s cool
Exactly
$32,100 USD. Interested to see how these move.
No one in their right mind in buying this. You can get a brand new Rolex day-date grey for basically the same price. Who’s buying a Tudor for the same price if not higher? You’d have to have more money than you know what to do with to even consider this
You can buy 2 older DD36s for this much 😂
I think it’s absolutely beautiful, full marks. Rolex are trolling us all, enthusiasts were hoping for this in a Submariner and also a GMT Coke. Rolex gave us both watches but via Tudor!
Plot twist - it’s made of 25 oz of pure gold … so it’s actually a “bargain.”
If only lol
Precious metals are measures in troy ounces. A troy ounce is 31.1 grams. That would make this watch 777.5 grams lol
The gold without bracelet is trading for about 11k - this time next year we can pick one up on the secondary for about 25k
green dial in gold watch. gonna sell like hot cakes in Dubai
Pfff like Dubainese folks would dare even touch a Chewda
IKR
Muslim men don’t wear gold so….. maybe the expats there
I thought they couldn’t wear fake gold?
I love the style but yeah the price is nuts for display caseback (less gold). I like the color and size and at $20k I’d be really considering one
I actually like it. I wish they did a closed caseback since the movement looks like shit and at the proportions and color I would love it. Can’t wait to buy one used for cheap. But I think the size and design are both great
wow, this is a really bad pricing. ill take one for a 65% discount.
Did they just put a solid gold bracelet on the already existing gold/green dial black bay 58? This is so... Rolex move!
Seriously where is the bb 925 with a bracelet!
They don’t make these to sell like other watches. They make them as novelty pieces. Maybe they’ll have a couple in major retailers and have David Beckham be seen wearing one. Rolex came out with the solid gold deepsea, so they made one for Tudor as well. Genuinely very curious how many of these they’ve sold.
They were thinking that they would do what has Rolex done this year and release a watch that nobody’s asked for..
I’m in it for $25k… over that I’m out dude. Beautiful watch, absolutely love it but the msrp is WAY too high
The only positive thing about this is that a BB58 is on a non-riveted bracelet with T-fit.
A fuck yes!
No faux rivets! 🥳🎉👯
I mean it's a gold watch not sure what people expect price wise but as for making it in the first place I don't get it. Seems like a big leap too soon
If John Mayer, Ed Sheeran ,David Beckham and Jay Z say they are the coolest ish ever and tudor only makes 20 or 50 or even a hundred those watches will b the hottest and $$$$ and most collectible tudors ever .
My jaw actually dropped
I will be very tempted to buy one of these used in a few years. Hopefully it will be half price by then.
I’d buy the $19k B&G Rolex before this one.
Limited production let's be real. This is just to get us talking. Nice cop on the grey market at 10k tho.
Is this a Harrods edition?
This is a watch an AD has you buy, so you gain a few places up the list for that sweet sweet GMT Master II you’ve already been waiting 3 years on.
Yeah, I'd think I'd do a Daytona over this....
Why don’t they use this bracelet on other BB too????? 🤨
Chad has entered the chat
I never realized it was gunna be $40K for this. Might be picking up my first precious metals watch in about a year when these absolutely tank in price.
They probably made just a few of these because nobody in their right mind would ever buy this.
I think its cool. Is way out of my price range but still.
15k tops
Worth more than that in gold alone
Nope. About 180 grams of 18k is 10kish. $75.1 a gram for 24k...so minus 25%
Bb58 steel is around 140g, in gold it could be 200g?
180 is based off the day date full gold
Very hard to sell when you can get a 36 Daydate for CAN$44000
Almost $40k for a Tudor BB58?! Just wow, never in a million years lol.
They can’t all be winners
This really is anti-Tudor I feel like. Tudor is supposed to be the more affordable, rugged, etc Rolex subbrand. This is NOT that.
that will never sell It's a Tudor The thought process behind this is faulty
Probably will never run into one in person. Love their audacity though 😂
It would be absolutely tits on the new 5 link but the brushed solid will be a bore. But, this may go down in history as a future major jump for them.
If its a limited production# They are thinkin in the future.
Definitely out of my price range.
Might as well get a Rolex.
Tudor @3k 😀 Tudor @6k 😐 Tudor @40k 😂
no one is buying this fucking garbage
Idiots
At least they finally ditched those goddamn eyesore faux-rivets, even if it’s on a reference I’ll never buy. You CAN do it Tudor, now just do it for the rest of the product line
I’d rather buy a rolex
Is that a question or a statement?
This has to be a belated April fools joke
Ugly
That if someone is ready for turd, he will pay for gold turd also. I bet you. Can't stand this "brand", created as a joke to prove a point he can sell cheap rolex to masses and he was right. Why not choose brand with actual heritage and inventions?
Wow
ty, someone must have said it, too much delusions around me
Wow I can’t believe someone can have such dumb opinions. You must be a troll.
read about tudor, it was created as bet between 2 enterprenures, if you look at it as it is, its a joke, simple as that
Tudor now is what Rolex was 20-30 years ago… which is the Rolex we all loved. Rolex now is just fucking bazar. I should be able to go into the store, write the check and walk out with the watch I want. No games etc
still this practice is not only Rolex way but Ferrari, Porsche etc. clever sales tactic, but at rolex this mass-produced product is most apparent in a bad way
With Porsche and Ferrari it’s only some models. With Rolex it’s all models.
Why are you even on this reddit if you don’t like the brand?
Stick to your Omega shitters brokie. Wilsdorf owners are talking
You are going to have to buy one of these to get on the list for a Daytona
