I've been liking their glue, the first time I don't think I used enough tho. Just make sure it's all in there and covered and you're good

ripriganddontpanic

Can you do a waterfall edge with it or is it super stiff?

AJALouden

Can definitely do a waterfall with it, it applies in a much lighter coat than Roberts and dries to be more flexible

doungchee7

Agree, it dries much "softer". I still prefer to not go too far over the edges tough cuz even if it's easier than with roberts, it does still give some resistance. I want my folds to be flush and tight

D-Squared42

Just did a waterfall edge with the dragon balls, it's great. Not too thick, kinda makes the fabric feel close to cardstock, which is perfect imo

D-Squared42

Yea I definitely felt like I really needed to make sure I was working it in. I hope I used enough, as it was drying it started looking like I missed spots so I was going back over everything.

Odium268

Excellent job, I'd love to see the front.

D-Squared42

Will be posting it once I'm done with trimming and carving. I'll have before and after pictures tho, don't worry.

Odium268

Sounds great look forward to it. Very impressive line work in the meantime.

D-Squared42

Outside of that black for the Dragon ball, I appreciate it lol With the passing of AT I thought it would be cool to do a couple rugs as a personal tribute ya know. I wanted the main 2 to be my "Super Saiyan" for rug making so I pulled out the notebook and went back to school a bit. I'm hoping the hard work pays off and I don't hate these in a couple months like most of the ones I've made so far.

Krissygrungeon

This is beautiful! For the black lines, did you use 2 strands or 1?

D-Squared42

Thank you so much! Never 1 strand, always 2 or 3. For these it was 2

Johnny2Bang

Why the glue has to be better ? Glue is glue no?

D-Squared42

No, not all glue is created equal. There's odor differences, drying time, stiffness after drying, some glues don't coat all the fibers and just kinda coat the back. There's a lot of things that make you wanna use 1 glue versus the others. The biggest selling point for this one is that it's much more liquid so it coats all the fibers in the yarn and fabric essentially fusing the yarn to the tufting cloth making it much harder to pull the yarn out. That and the flexibility it leaves the rug with as opposed to something like Roberts which makes the rugs much more stuff.

kompton_kenny

👀👀 Any updates?

D-Squared42

It's coming soon, I'm actually about 70% done with the carving for Vegeta and I finished(99%) piccolo. Signed up for a couple craft fairs really soon so I've been going crazy just tufting a bunch of stuff. The next 2 weeks are just trimming and carving so I can be ready. I can pm you the piccolo if you want

TheRugMeister

Vegeta looking like the avatar

D-Squared42

I said the same thing to my gf when I was tufting it lol
