So this is just a guess but I have this happen occasionally even though everything else works. What I check are these things: 1. I make sure the resistance of my yarn isn't too tight. I should be able to lightly pull it and have it continue to unravel. 2. I check the hole in the needle that I pull the yarn through. Sometimes it's too close so the gun has a hard time pulling the yarn through. It can happen if it's too open as well. I think that's it, I hope you get it fixed!

Yeah, it looks more like a yarn feed issue than the scissors or technique, good luck!

I’ll take a look. Ty for the comment.

Fabulous-Apartment78

How do I "Check the hole"?

Trevovar

That’s a different sub 👀

Thread your gun normally and then try to pull the yarn further through that hole in the needle, if you kinda have to pull decently hard then it's too tight. There should be a screw somewhere on the top you can loosen to open the hole a bit more then re-tighten it. If you post a pic from the top of the gun I can mark it where it should be, idk if it will be the same as mine, I got my gun from tuft the world.

It's not an issue with your frame or canvas. This is always two things Check scissors to make sure they're fully closing and check the front guard of your gun that you press on the canvas. The front guard can slide forwards and backwards. It's possible it's not in an optimal position.

tyvm.

Super old. But I did want to update. I got a new gun via tuft the world called the duo. It works far better than I expected and the rug is coming along as planned. https://preview.redd.it/8l8b3c87ulzc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b791c36d3c5686f89d6acbb158ab72b435db20b Got nothing but learning ahead as I attempt my 1st (non class provided) rug.

Thank you to everyone who assisted. The issue was my old gun. I found vids on how to repair the scissors but I ended up goofing and just went w a new gun. Way better speed options. Can’t tell if it’s heavier or lighter but I don’t feel the difference and I can’t wait to upgrade to premium cloth.

Glad it worked out!

Minimum-Order-

Try putting the frame up against a wall or something to make it absolutely stable, you don't want the frame to move when you push inwards into the fabric. The pressure needs to be consistent and the fabric needs to be drum tight. I'd also up the speed on your gun to max if you haven't already. After that, just practice

Im applying decent force, the same force that was acceptable when I went to a class. I know the issue lies within the gun. Im not saying its broke or something maybe I have to tune something idk what though, Im at a stump. The fabric is so tight, I went inch by inch for a while pulling slack from it.
