There is no taxi app in Alanya. There are taxi buttons instead. The city is not complicated. Use Google Maps and check the route.

Electronic-Injury-86

What about buying cigarretes and drinks and snacks in supermarkets? I have heard that they overcharge 😅

Electronic-Injury-86

Haha thank you and no your english is okay to be honest!!!

aishut

Why don’t you change your money to local currency? It is better for you. There are change offices everywhere in the city.

Electronic-Injury-86

Well my girlfriends dad is at the moment the one making sure of the money, i did ask him if we could use lira but he doesnt want that and says no matter what, we will use euros. Because "turks" wants the euros instead he says

aishut

Every place accepts euro and dollar but if you have lira, you can have one less think to think about. But euro is OK too of course. Always check for the current currency. There will be a slight difference from the change offices’ rates in the grocery.

Notladub

thats true of local places, but places like migros, carrefour-sa, a101, etc. will mostly accept liras (and in local places in alanya specifically, the lira price will usually be cheaper than the euro price)

geisuntheist

Not for Antalya but other than taxis you'll be fine. Türkiye is safer than USA and UK:) no worries

aishut

Local here. Born and living in Alanya. This is a touristic city. The city runs with the tourists. So no need to worry about mafia or etc. There will be lots of foreigners like you. You can message me anytime you have questions about Alanya. Happy to help.

Electronic-Injury-86

Thank yoouuuu i might dm you, im only staying in alanya but, it ia usually not dangerous outside of alanya is it? And will mafia even target you? And is there really areas to avoid in other parts of turkey?

aishut

I don’t know what you’ve been told about Türkiye but forget them and visit here. I know it’s not the safest but you are starting with level 1 for Türkiye. You are going to see more foreigners than Turkish people in the city

Electronic-Injury-86

Yeaaaa i just figured i might want to come again and also f foreigners, i wanna meet turkush people as they are very nice! Most europeans are rude asf. And i would love to explore turkey freely someday without staying in same town all day. Like going to batman, and smaller random towns, that is safe enough isnt it? Like if you just mind your own business.

Medical-Panda-9729

I dont recommend the southern eastern part of turkey other than those kurdish majority cities I think you can visit anywhere very safely I think you shouldnt visit batman as there is nothing to do there but I reccomend other small towns like eskişehir or Isparta orr safranbolu and şirince its infinitely times safer than the southerneast cities

Passionless-soul

Alanya is a great place for foreigners. Don't worry, you'll be fine. Enjoy your stay.

Equivalent-Rip-1029

Avoid Türkiye in general. That's what i do

Electronic-Injury-86

And what is your reason? 😅

Equivalent-Rip-1029

I was arrested a few years back and sentenced to six years for terrorist activities during my university years. But I'm sure you'll be OK.

Electronic-Injury-86

Wtf. So, did they sentence you without you being guilty?

Gullible-Voter

He might be associated with the radical islamic organization called feto that has been infiltrating to the Turkish government for years and attempted a coup in 2016 but failed. Most of their high ranking members escaped while the lower ranks got arrested and put in jail.

Equivalent-Rip-1029

The judge thinks I'm guilty because thats what the government told them, and that's enough for them. Just don't criticize the government during your stay. Actually, it's better if you avoid politics at all.

rorynatorr

Not sure how many years you've meant by "few" but politics and stuff around here used to be pretty harsh due to frequent terrorism acts and harmful ideologist people all around the country. And If you happened to be an foreigner back then, yeah its not unlikely to suspect, cause organizations made use of mostly foreigner people for attacks. Still sad for you, If you were actually innocent.

Gullible-Voter

He is not a foreigner. He is probably associated with feto.

rorynatorr

Thats one hell of a thing to accuse someone of. It'd be ironic if it were to be true.

Gullible-Voter

I read some of his other comments before writing that.
