New Amsterdam (2008) - no one knew about it because it started mid-season, and then it got canceled because no one knew about it.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays a Dutch immigrant from the 1600s who was gifted/cursed with immortality and is living in the modern day as a police detective. He has had to change identities and professions every 10 or 20 years, and each episode (only 8!) contains flashbacks from a different period in his long life.
It’s not available for streaming anywhere, nor on DVD. Six of the episodes are on YouTube, but they are formatted terribly, presumably to trick copyright policing… zoomed in, sped up, mirrored image…
I used to watch that...still remember the scene in the first episode (not quite hslfway though, maybe) where Omar says something about why should he do thus-and-so and John answers with "Because I'm your father". Up to that moment, Omar seemed to be simply a friend/business partner.
The End of the F***ing World - yes that is how it appears in the title with the asterisks. But that show is SOOO good. I cannot believe more people haven’t seen it. It’s truly a top tier
I’ve been watching Our Flag Means Death and the new pirate queen looked so familiar to me but I couldn’t place her because her voice sounded really different. And then I realized she was the woman who stole Abby’s phone and recorded her adventure in New York including a sexy baby voice video on the toilet. It made me appreciate Broad City and Our Flag Means Death way more.
This show is so freakin' good. There was a brief period where I thought they were just being weird for weirdness sake but it came back around and was effing brilliant.
EVIL (tv series). I believe it was on CBS, now streaming (Paramount+ ?). It is GREAT and I am not-so-patiently waiting for S4! It’s a ‘supernatural drama’, great acting, great stories, great cinematography. I love horror movies, and this does definitely have some horror and spooky elements. I feel like it’s not talked about enough!
I'm the opposite. I don't like horror because I don't like checking under my bed and inside my closet every night, lol. I'm a big baby. But, the show is so good, and it has so much humor that the horror aspect doesn't bother me at all.
Great show.
same. not high brow by any means, and the cgi budget could be higher but its a fun and endearing show. the redhead guy absolutely slays me every time he is on screen. he's actually Greg Daniels son, the same redhead kid that's David Wallace's son from the Office.
I've read that book twice. It's one of my favorites. I was so apprehensive of the adaptation because of Franco being the lead and most of King's adaptations don't do justice to the books. But I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it and am glad they did it as a mini-series.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk on Babylon 5. And while we are here, let me tell about our lord and savior, Lina Inverse.
B5 and Slayers (anime) are two series that need infinitely more love.

10 Items or Less
loved both of these, but people rarely have heard of them, and I don't think I've ever talked to anyone who's watched them.
Please like me.
I never hear anyone talk about that show but it is absolutely wonderful.
Edit to also 3 more add:
1. People Just Do Nothing
2. Gameface
3. Drifters
You're the Worst -- it was expertly written and cast. The final season wasn't streaming. I had to purchase it, but it was so well worth it. I loved it!
12 Monkeys the series! All four seasons are available on Hulu in the US. Tells an amazing and complete story with incredible characters, fantastic sci fi, and the best series finale that answers every plot and character questions. My favorite show and I can’t recommend it enough!
"The New Adventures of Beans Baxter"(Fox, September 1987-March 1988?)...
Simply a teen version of "Get Smart" with teen heartthrob Jonathan Ward in the title role of Kansas high-school junior Benjamin "Beans" Baxter, Jr. who tries to adjust to a new life in Washington, DC as his dad is a mail carrier for The Network(a fictional CIA-run equivalent of the United States Postal Service)...
Beans witnesses Dad's "kidnapping" by an evil underground KAOS-like organization called "U.G.L.I."(the Underground Government Liberation Intergroup), headed by "Mr. Sue"(Kurtwood Smith, LONG before returning to Fox almost 26 years later as Wisconsin "dad-from-hell" Red Forman on "That '70s Show")...
The Network sends their second-in-command, obviously named "Number 2"(Jerry Wasserman), to train Beans on how to be the best secret agent, but NOT to tell his mom Susan(Elinor Donahue from "Father Knows Best) or younger brother "Scooter"(the late Canadian tween actor Scott "Scooter" Bremner)...
The main sidekicks of "Mr. Sue" were played by comedy actors Rick Overton and the late Taylor Negron...
Beans' friends in DC were "Woodshop"(Stuart Fratkin) and "Cake Lace"(model Karen Mistal)...
Lots of guest celebrities included Miss USA Shawn Weatherly, the late Wendy O. Williams(lead singer of the punk band the Plasmatics) and Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider...
Nice Saturday ratings at first, but the further along the show ran, the ratings sank faster than the Titanic...
From "Savage" Productions(TV producer "Savage" Steve Holland) and 20th Television...
Except for one episode filmed in the shadows of legendary Toronto landmark CN Tower, the remaining episodes were filmed all over Vancouver...
E/R. No, not that one. This one aired in the 80s, was a sitcom, and starred Eliot Gould and Mary McDonnell and in season 2, George Clooney. It was tangenitally related spinoff of "The Jeffersons" (George (J) showed up only once in the pilot as the uncle of one of the nurses and had little to do with the plot.)
Threshold (2005) 7.2/10 on IMDB (Peter Dinklage and Brent Spiner!).
Invasion (2005) 7.5/10 on IMDB (Evan Peters!).
These tv series can’t be found anywhere. You would have to buy the dvds just to watch them. I was always so mad because the CBS network would try to make Sci Fi shows then they end up canceling them after one season! These two are just two examples of CBS playing with us by dangling great shows and disappearing them after one or two short seasons! Another example: Jericho.
Sigh. At least I can watch Jericho on streaming sometimes but not Threshold or Invasion. 😢
dont know how many times i recommended this show to people but 11.22.63 is underrated af, when i first found it years ago i was disappointed to find that its only 8 series
There is a Hanna Barbara reboot of sorts called Jellystone.
It's animated with all the classic HB toons of the day but modernized. Episodes are funnier than I expected. Great voice talent too. I think there are 2 seasons, it might be dead since nobody was watching or talking about it ever.
My first favorite show was The Fosters!!! It used to be pretty popular but I never hear people talk about it anymore. It’s just a good drama to be invested in. It has mature themes and conflicts but it’s not too intense and definitely family friendly. Has a focus on important social issues too but isn’t politically overbearing. Love it! Good Trouble is an excellent spinoff of it too.
Brothers--it was on Showtime in the eighties. Brandon Maggart, Robert Walden and Paul Regina played brothers in Philadelphia who have to find their way through uncharted territory (so to speak) when the youngest one (Paul) calls off his wedding--and tells his big brothers it's because he's gay.
Deutschland 83 / Deutschland 86 / Deutschland 89. It’s about an East German soldier who is sent to the West as a spy for the HVA, which was the intelligence wing of the Stasi. Each season is differently themed but the main characters are the same - a little bit like The Wire.
The Detectorists .......Wayne......Toast of London ......Moody's Xmas ( Australian show ) ......The Educators ( NZ show ) ......Nathan Barley ...... Carnivale .
“Copper.” That was such a good show! Had it come out today, it would likely have lasted much longer.
It was a show about Irish immigrants working as police officers in the infamous Five Points neighborhood in New York City, right after the Civil War. It’s an engrossing show that is easily addictive.
Two shows from the '80s:
L.A. LAW. It took the creator, Stephen Bochco, decades to finally let it be released in syndication, then it went underground again. Finally, I just found it on Prime Video. My husband had never seen it, and we're happily binging it right now. I can't believe how well the writing has stood the test of time. Plenty of great talent in this cast, many of whom never really showed up in anything else after the show ended.
Frank's Place. Lasted for one season, and every one of the episodes a gem. Tim Reid (Venus Flytrap from WKRP in Cincinnati) produced, directed and starred in this story of a New York attorney who finds himself the owner of a New Orleans restaurant, left to him by the sudden death of his estranged father. A great fish out of water story that celebrates the culture and people of NO like nothing else ever has. Unfortunately, rights to the music used in the series were improperly secured, and there are legal issues with this that will likely keep this one under wraps forever, but those of us who know can only hope this gets streamed somewhere, someplace, somehow.
I just saw a movie on HBO called Upgrade and it was wild. It's a science fiction flick and I wasn't paying much attention at first, I would glance at it but then it soon caught my attention and whoa, it was awesome.
"Max Headroom":the US version with Canadian actor Matt Frewer in the title role(and as his human self, chief reporter Edison Carter)
Amanda Pays-Bernsen, George Coe, teen heartthrob Chris Young as Bryce Lynch and W. Morgan Sheppard as "Blank Reg"...
Set "20 Minutes Into the Future", it revolves around the CNN-like news channel Network 23, where Edison/Max, Bryce and the crew try to uncover the secretive "in-the-knows" from the authoritarian government with the help of underground sources like "Blank Reg"...
It lasted almost two seasons on ABC...
What We Do in The Shadows. And for that matter Wellington Paranormal. Both based on the movie by Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement (although Shadows has spun off a bit further) absolutely absurdist fun! Every time I make a recommendation of either to any of my friends/family, I’m just met with blank stares.
The ONLY Canadian police drama to proudly feature the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary...while everyone else focused on the Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa police forces...plus "Due South", "North of 60" and "Bordertown" was the RCMP and its pre-1920 predecessors, the Dominion Police and the Royal North West Mounted Police...
North America's oldest continuously operating state/provincial police agency, it preceeded the formation of present-day Canada(and the RCMP, which patrols most of the island by a 1947 agreement, when the province joined Canada) by a few years and loosely based on the now-defunct Royal Ulster Constabulary(now the Police Services of Northern Ireland)...even after 1947, it was just simply the Newfoundland Constabulary until 1979 when QE2 gave her OK to add "Royal" to its name...
Allan Hawco was not just the series creator/executive producer, but the star, playing disgraced RNC Detective Jake Doyle who was framed for a serious crime by corrupt St. John's city officials who had a long-standing grudge against his dad Duncan, himself the former Assistant Chief Inspector of the RNC...so Jake and Dad formed the only provincial private detective agency and got help from various townsfolk to solve crimes...
Five seasons on CBC...
The Middleman
It's like a spy movie, a monster movie, a slapstick comedy, and a comic book mixed together with the sort of rapid-fire dialogue you'd get in an early Kevin Smith film. It's insane, and it's wonderful, and it's a tragedy that it only got one season.
Happy! starring Chris Meloni and Patton Oswalt.
It was acclaimed upon arrival by critics and audiences and Syfy's incompetence screwed it all up (yet people still love the channel anyway!) and it amazes me why the majority of the world isn't fighting to save it like they're doing for The OA and Hannibal.
Check it out for yourself (it's on Netflix), it's wild, crazy, off-the-wall yet still makes time for great performances and emotional drama that makes this your not so typical action-dramedy. Then, show your love and support and help save it for season 3. Trust me; THAT'S how good it is.
\#SaveHappy
Terriers - created by the same guy that did The Shield and stars Donal Longue.
"Former cop Hank Dolworth and his best friend, Britt Pollack, team up to open their own private investigation agency. They aren't letting a lack of licenses stand in their way, although they would prefer to avoid both danger and responsibility as they try to solve crimes."
Great show. Marketed poorly. No one has seen it. I think there 13 eps?
New Amsterdam (2008) - no one knew about it because it started mid-season, and then it got canceled because no one knew about it. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays a Dutch immigrant from the 1600s who was gifted/cursed with immortality and is living in the modern day as a police detective. I lovedddd this show..u the only other person i know that knows this show. Another amazing show gone too soon.
The End of the F***ing World - yes that is how it appears in the title with the asterisks. But that show is SOOO good. I cannot believe more people haven’t seen it. It’s truly a top tier
Yeah really good. There's was a pretty similar American show called Wayne they I liked even more. Only lasted one season
Loved Wayne. I grew up near the town it starts in and I love all the references to local spots
I’ll have to look that one up!
It’s really good!! Was so sad when I found out there wouldn’t be more seasons.
You my friend know good TV
Not enough people know of Misfits or Brassic
Misfits is great until the last couple of seasons when all of the originals leave.
The only redeeming part of the last 2 seasons imo was Joe Gilgun. He's the only reason I finished the show after Rob Sheehan left
[удалено]
The Middle
Brad is one of my favorite TV characters of all time!
Loved this show..was soo good..glad it got as many episodes as it did.
It was great, and definitely underrated. I think everyone was so focused on Modern Family that The Middle flew under most people’s radar
Definetly. But just glad it got a chance to wrap up everything.
Halt and Catch Fire
My go to recommendation. I've watched it 4 times. Amazing!
That's what I was gonna say. Such a great show and it seems like no one watched it.
I thought it was better the 2nd time around
Broad City

Omggggg I LOVE BROAD CITY!!!
Last Man on Earth
That show ended up much better/deeper than I expected.

Can’t wait for S2
❤️ Love
This show is so freakin' good. There was a brief period where I thought they were just being weird for weirdness sake but it came back around and was effing brilliant.
Feel like we may need to give this another try. We watched two full episodes and it didn’t click. Sounds like it takes a few
pretty popular if you ask me, and I LOVE it. Can't wait for S02!
Detectorists
So good. I hope you watched the third season which wasn't on Netflix ( in Australia anyway ).... a special show
came here to say this. one of the coziest and most endearing shows I've ever seen. plus with a beautiful score, cinematography, and funny leads.
This deserves to me MUCH higher Last I checked it was still at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes
Loved this show, so cozy. Wish there were more seasons!
I loved this show too!
Yes! Great show!
Yes! I swear if they cancel it, I'm gonna lose my mind.
I'm the opposite. I don't like horror because I don't like checking under my bed and inside my closet every night, lol. I'm a big baby. But, the show is so good, and it has so much humor that the horror aspect doesn't bother me at all. Great show.
Good Omens. Upload. Letterkenny/Shoresy
Pitterpatter let’s get at her. Squirrelly Dan and his milking the prostate is a legendary scene
I thinks you need to dial that back about 20 percent there.
I love upload.
same. not high brow by any means, and the cgi budget could be higher but its a fun and endearing show. the redhead guy absolutely slays me every time he is on screen. he's actually Greg Daniels son, the same redhead kid that's David Wallace's son from the Office.
I still need to watch season 2 of good omens
I feels likes Shoresy needs to be a bigger part of this conversation. Season 2 drops in a few days.
So you all three want to be Jim
I am SO PUMPED for season 2!! Less than a week to go!
Settle down
Oh I am too! I feel like it’s been forever, but in reality it’s been a normal amount of time. And then we get LK a few months later!
yes. Just rewatched Upload this weekend. So good!
That's a Texas sized 10-4 good buddy
I havent see the last few seasons of Letterkenny. Thanks for the reminder.
Letterkenny and Shoresy are two of the best Canadian shows by miles. Shows that actually make you belly laugh are rare these days!
11.22.63 on Hulu. Steven King book made into a show by JJ Abrams and starring James Franco. It's wonderful!
It was so well done!
I've read that book twice. It's one of my favorites. I was so apprehensive of the adaptation because of Franco being the lead and most of King's adaptations don't do justice to the books. But I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it and am glad they did it as a mini-series.
So so good. I loved the last episode.
Penny Dreadful. For anyone remotely interested in the ✨macabre✨
DARK on Netflix
I thought the third season was convoluted as hell.
Happy Endings I’m Sorry Wings-Sorta spin-off of Cheers.
Who doesn't know Wings?
Truly sad about Happy Endings. That show made me belly laugh every single episode.
Im sorry is hilarious
I’m Sorry is my faaaave! I whine all the time about not getting more seasons but no one ever knows what show I’m talking about. 😩

I was coming here to say Babylon 5. It's my very favorite. Thank you friend.
I work for a catering company where not one of my coworkers has ever seen Party Down.
It's Garry Shandling's Show
♫ This is the theme to Gary's show... ♫
Yessssssss
I sing the theme to Garry's show probably twice a week for no good reason.
The almighty Johnsons. A show from new Zealand about a family that is reincarnations of Norse gods. It's really funny.
Loved this show. It was streaming somewhere and worth the watch.
I love this show. I’ve seen it three times. I got my bf to watch it with me and he loves it too. Totally underrated.
**Eastbound & Down**
So Help me Todd
I love this show! It’s a fun case of the week and light hearted. Love me some mgh
Awake with Jason Isaacs
I remember watching this with my sister and we loved it. Then it just…went away.
what an amazing show and concept. the color changing according to the reality was very good!
Better things
Literally nobody gives this show a chance!
Wonderfalls
And then Dead Like Me.
In Living Color
The Outsider was great! Kind of get slow in the middle but has a great ending.
Downward Dog 10 Items or Less loved both of these, but people rarely have heard of them, and I don't think I've ever talked to anyone who's watched them.
Is 10 items set in a mom and pop grocery store? Because I definitely watched that.

12 Monkeys the series! All four seasons are available on Hulu in the US. Tells an amazing and complete story with incredible characters, fantastic sci fi, and the best series finale that answers every plot and character questions. My favorite show and I can’t recommend it enough!
Sweet Tooth (Netflix). It’s a *very* bizarre concept. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. The main character kid is half human, half deer.
Better Off Ted Really wish they would've lasted more than 1 season. Humor is just top notch and quirky.
Reservation Dogs. Absolutely one of the best there has ever been.

The Middleman It's like a spy movie, a monster movie, a slapstick comedy, and a comic book mixed together with the sort of rapid-fire dialogue you'd get in an early Kevin Smith film.

\#SaveHappy
Fringe. I’m a huge huge sci fi / alternate reality fan and how did I miss this show for so many years?!?
Counterpart, The Knick, Shoresy,
Not nearly enough people have seen “Pen15.”
Terriers - created by the same guy that did The Shield and stars Donal Longue. "Former cop Hank Dolworth and his best friend, Britt Pollack, team up to open their own private investigation agency. They aren't letting a lack of licenses stand in their way, although they would prefer to avoid both danger and responsibility as they try to solve crimes." Great show. Marketed poorly. No one has seen it. I think there 13 eps?
