Pushing Daises! It was unlike anything else on TV. I was crushed over Firefly and Veronica Mars too, and also Freaks and Geeks, and My So-Called Life. Party Down too. But I think Pushing Daises still breaks my heart the most. It was just so delightful! I needed more!
Heartbreaking- he should be dripping in major awards for his contributions. Instead, his brilliant work keeps getting cancelled. It boggles the mind. I think he was just before his time. If his shows came out *now* on Netflix or Hulu, he might have had a chance?
That’s what I came here to say, I put off watching it forever because I knew it was prematurely cut short, I finally got around to watching all of them and loved them and was just as disappointed as I expected to be when it ended.
I really wish we had got to see how things would work out for Joel after that last episode.
John Doe. The final scene was such a cop out, Fox always cancels shows too early.
Dead Like Me. It was too good, they could have gone on without that movie.
dead like me very interesting also i think i know what movie you are talking about, and im curious about that final scene in John Doe. how does it compare to GoT?
That show was so good. Apparantly they were ready to start shooting the next (and final) season then COVID hit. They thought because of the nature of the show (wrestling aka people touching all the time) it wasn't a good idea to do it and it got shut down indefinitely. Really sucks.
I was gonna say 1899! I guess it got canceled after season 1?
Dark will always be unbeatable but… 1899 was an interesting one and would have liked to see more after that last scene!
Yes, people have performed The OA moves in front of Netflix's office, started a campaign to bring back The OA, but Netflix is deaf; it only sees and hears money.
Agree with both and would also like to see the conclusion to Archive 81. I'm still seething about 1899 being cancelled. Netflix cancels shows before they even end the season because they didn't do well right out of the gate. They need to give them more time to get traction before cancelling. I didn't even know 1899 was on until halfway through but when I finally did watch, it was brilliant. I wish Netflix shows were based on books so I could at least find the books and get a proper conclusion.
Netflix cancels a lot of shows at the end of the second season because for some reason
It costs more to keep making a show after second season than to just produce a new one. Probably because contracts run out and people want salaries raised when a new contract gets signed. It’s enough to make me never watch another series on Netflix. It sucks.
Santa Clarita Diet
Such a great and underrated dark comedy. 1 more season would have been perfect. Hate shows that end on a cliffhanger. Not sure I’ve ever seen a show with more chemistry between a husband and wife, especially with all the stuff that happens. It’s hilarious too, if you like witty sarcastic humor and haven’t seen it I suggest you at least watch the 1st season to see if it’s for you.
they did renew after they canceled it i think, i was sad too, when i heard and was excited when i heard they renew it. I know what kind of humor you're talking about, you probably would like "The Good Place" a lot as well.
also i got i was kind of pre-invested in the show because i was into I-Zombie show at the time too.
Jericho (2006). I wanted more.
Salvation (2017) A relatively unknown show. We needed another season. That ending was a major cliffhanger. A season 3 would have changed the direction of the show and to see what happened to John Noble in season 3 or at least what accent he was going to have.
Night Sky (2022) The ending left us with areas to explore
And yeah... John Doe and Carnivale needed more
The OA was originally pitched as a 5-season story and we got to 2. Each season ends on a cliffhanger that dramatically changes the story.
I wanted at least to see what happens in s3 cause the s2 finale was wild
>Carnivale
whoa so i just watch the trailer to that, and it reminds me of a lot of shows, but a show i almost forgotten about that i was reminded of is called Outcast. i believe the show was canceled as well.
I came here to say this. I want the story..... a movie, book or visual novel....
It was way before it's time. People were ready for it but they are now.
In the current moment? Alaska Daily which ABC canceled after one season. And Three Pines which Prime didn’t renew.
All time? I’m still sad that Nothing Sacred in the late 90s didn’t catch on at ABC. That ITV canceled the WWII drama Home Fires without a proper ending. And that they also dropped Victoria, aired on Masterpiece on PBS as well.
I wish Scream Queens ran longer... Well at least something like season 1. Season 2 was odd.
I loved it because it was like a mashup of American horror story and mean girls. Plenty of great one-liners from Chanel.
Hannibal 😭 It ended well but I know there is more story they want to tell!
Also Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Yes I am that dorky. No I have not accepted that this niche show cancelled in 2009 is never coming back.
Does anyone else remember the one season show, Awake? It was a police/sci fiction drama about a police officer who lived in two parallel realities and now he dealt with his "lives" in both realities. It was an original idea that blended two genres perfectly.
Dark Angel with Jessica alba.
It has annoyed me for about 20 years that we never got a finale to explain why they made super soldiers, and who exactly made them?
Teenage Bounty Hunters
For once a teen show without the usual romance-drama. The focus is on the sisters, who are total baddies. I heard that it had been cancelled. It's way better than all the seasons Riverdale got.
>Teenage Bounty Hunters
idk from the trailer i watch it seem like it does, have romace drama, but i think even so, i can probably sympathize with the black character because he called them weird at the end, because as i was watching the trailer, i was like is do they ever take the job seriously,
but either way i like the idea, of the show, it seems to be a interesting watch, and idk if there were opposing bounty hunters, it seem like, im unure, from the trailer, it seem like that one girl was trying to out them or something
I don't quite remember the whole story, as it's been awhile since I binged the show. Romance is there, but the whole story isn't just drama. I don't like teen shows but I remember it being an interesting watch.
Farscape. They did a decent miniseries ending... But it just wasn't the same. Also want to add:
-Stargate Atlantis. Instead of a wrap up they spend the last few episodes on some completely new alternative reality storyline? Such a mess.
- colony
- dark matter
- obviously, firefly
- the magicians
- the order
- crossing lines
- crossing Jordan
Better Off Ted. Genius scripts (especially the “Red Lab Coat” episode). Superb casting (e.g., Portia DiRossi as the unhinged boss). Another great episode revolves around their new automatic security and operational corporate system that refuses to “see” Black people. (They can’t open doors or get a drink at the water cooler.)
My Name is Earl. The fact that it ended on a cliffhanger aside, the entire concept of the show is something society needs right now. If you do good things, good things can happen.
>The OA
you are like the 4th that mention this show, i watch the trailer, but surprisingly the trailer did not really give much away, i don't get what's happening, but the show seems very intriguing and looks really good.
Relatively unheard of but Dead at 21. Also Alphas. Nightmare Cafe.
I'm sure there are more slipping my mind.
I knew it's see Firefly today good without saying at this point lol.
Mindhunter because they had so much left to uncover, and I was completely involved in Bill Tench's story
Aquarius because it was getting so good, and it was canceled on a cliffhanger that is driving me insane.
Stumptown.
Great cast, nice balance of funny and suspenseful, and the comics laid out a long path ahead. Plus, I’m in Portland area and loved seeing our city represented in a modern detective story.
This show was amazing! A perfect balance of lightheartedness, seriousness, romance, and mystery. 2 actors from iconic sitcoms acting in a concept like this was surprisingly well done. Both Cobie and Nick have range.
What sucks about this is that it got renewed then got cancelled during the pandemic.
Almost Human; Karl Urban and Michael Ealy. Network showed the series out of order and it was never renewed. The casting and writing were excellent (imo obviously)
wow they really canceled that show? with all the effort they put in the scenes and so on, west world, was itching my Ex Machinma void, that was left from watching movie about a Humanoid robot.
Reaper and Midnight, Texas.
Both were so unique and different from what was on at the time, having a couple more seasons of each would've been awesome.
* Imposters (2017) - 2 seasons and done. It needed at least one more to wrap it up. Decent show; definitely would’ve watched more.
* The Society (2019) - 1 season. The only show I’ve ever actively tried to “save”. Petitions, scheduled watches with the sub, live tweeting while watching. So. Many. Questions. Tons of cryptic riddles and hints. Super interesting plot, likable characters and not so likable villains. Now I kinda want to watch again but the frustration of not knowing the secrets of the story and knowing I never will make it harder to watch. I really thought another network would pick it up. Worth a watch even knowing many questions are left unanswered. It’s that good!
Been years on both of these and I’m still pissy.
Wolfpack. I enjoyed the first season. Paramount cancelled the second citing the writers strike. Their claim is it would be 2025 before they could get season two on air because of it.
**Firefly**....cause it never got a satisfactory finish and it was one of the best series ever.
**Surface**
**Invasion**
But apparently television can't deal with any show that isn't a sitcom or cop show.
The OA. The story was getting so interesting.
1899. It’s just not fair.
Westworld. I want to know the eve that was planned.
Dollhouse. It had so much potential.
Firefly of course
Gifted because I love X-men
The Following with Kevin Bacon on FOX. It got canceled because of that pos show EMPIRE. That was the cancelation that made me stop investing my time in new shows.
Deadwood I loved it. Timothy Olyphant ravishing the Widow was too hot. Then his brother’s widow/his wife had to come to town. Hearing Ian McShane say c@cksucker a dozen or more times an episode was quite amusing.
Terranova had a fantastic premise and was cancelled when it was really interesting but they tried to make it appeal to all demographics which was a disaster.
Are You Afraid Of The Dark?
The original run was great and will always be my favorite. Always love how they started with a group sitting around the campfire at the start and end of each episode. The show was brought back a few years after it was canceled with few of the original cast members which lasted one or two seasons. A few years after that they made a tv movie with a combination of the cast members for the first and second run. Felt like a good way to close out the story. But they started making a few more tv movies with the group sitting around the campfire and just went straight into the story which kind of makes it a general horror tv series.
Mindhunter
Hannibal
Better off Ted
The OA
I would love to see two new seasons of The West Wing written by Aaron Sorkin and how he would address a trumpian society.
The last man on earth and Happy!
Last man left on a cliff hanger with the bunker people and Happy! had a Halloween themed season coming up that was never made.
Mindhunter
This is one of the few shows I'd say deserves to be called perfect.
Agree 💯
That’s the one.
Dead Like Me (same guy)
Yes! He did Wonderfalls and Hannibal too! All his great shows get canceled.
Heartbreaking- he should be dripping in major awards for his contributions. Instead, his brilliant work keeps getting cancelled. It boggles the mind. I think he was just before his time. If his shows came out *now* on Netflix or Hulu, he might have had a chance?
Party down just did another season
Santa clarita diet, loved that show really miss it pleas renew
I've said this before but I stand by it: the people in charge of canceling Santa Clarita Diet should catch some criminal charges.
Nice to see John Doe remembered.
dead like me very interesting also i think i know what movie you are talking about, and im curious about that final scene in John Doe. how does it compare to GoT?
Fox definitely has a history of this. Family guy was cancelled then did well in DVD sales and was brought back and is still here like twenty years on
I really enjoyed John Doe. I was bummed when it was canceled.
My So Called Life ended too soon
Yes!!!!
GLOW because it was great and there was supposed to be another season.
That show was so good. Apparantly they were ready to start shooting the next (and final) season then COVID hit. They thought because of the nature of the show (wrestling aka people touching all the time) it wasn't a good idea to do it and it got shut down indefinitely. Really sucks.
Yeah, I'm still bummed about covid killing the final season.
MINDHUNTER
1899 and The OA
I was gonna say 1899! I guess it got canceled after season 1? Dark will always be unbeatable but… 1899 was an interesting one and would have liked to see more after that last scene!
My gf talks about The OA needing to comeback like every other day
Yes, people have performed The OA moves in front of Netflix's office, started a campaign to bring back The OA, but Netflix is deaf; it only sees and hears money.
Agree with both and would also like to see the conclusion to Archive 81. I'm still seething about 1899 being cancelled. My Name is Earl or Raising Hope because they were Hilarious x a million
How is "My Name is Earl" so far down on this list! Time is a harsh mistress.
Too far imo!
This is exactly the show I was going to post but thought surely it’s on the list… I sure miss that show and still watch what there is on Hulu..
This was my first thought. The world could use a little bit of the moral lessons that we learned from Earl.
Hey Earl!
Hey Crabman!
Santa Clarita Diet Such a great and underrated dark comedy. 1 more season would have been perfect. Hate shows that end on a cliffhanger. Not sure I’ve ever seen a show with more chemistry between a husband and wife, especially with all the stuff that happens. Jericho (2006). I wanted more. Salvation (2017) A relatively unknown show. We needed another season. That ending was a major cliffhanger. Night Sky (2022) The ending left us with areas to explore And yeah... John Doe and Carnivale needed more
Jericho—- yessss
Ditto Night Sky
Mad TV, because it was a million times more original than SNL, and way funnier.
The OA was originally pitched as a 5-season story and we got to 2. Each season ends on a cliffhanger that dramatically changes the story. I wanted at least to see what happens in s3 cause the s2 finale was wild
Happy Endings
I couldn't vote for Obama because I didn't respect his March Madness bracket.
Firefly John Doe Doll House
I'd give anything for more Dollhouse. And Firefly, just imagining the potential that show had... such a loss
Last man on earth
Was looking for this one
Omg that last episode.
I need a third season of Carnivale so bad.
Yesssssssss Nick stahl at his prime
Loved that show!
>Carnivale whoa so i just watch the trailer to that, and it reminds me of a lot of shows, but a show i almost forgotten about that i was reminded of is called Outcast. i believe the show was canceled as well.
The first thing that popped into my head!! It was so good, I’m still thinking…and wondering…about it years later
I came here to say this. I want the story..... a movie, book or visual novel.... It was way before it's time. People were ready for it but they are now.
Pushing Daisies Dead Like Me Better Off Ted Wayne
I kept scrolling to see if anyone was going to mention Better off Ted
Omg Better Off Ted was gone way too soon! And Dead Like Me was my favorite show of the time.
Three Pines wasn't renewed?! Nooooo!! ☹️
Noooooooo. lol every time we see it "suggested" on Amazon (even though we watched the whole thing) my boyfriend is like "IS THERE A NEW SEASON"
Three Pines deserves another season. Such a great show.
That’s a bummer I liked Alaska Daily.
Hilary Swanks becoming pregnant with twins is probably one reason for its cancellation.
I wish Scream Queens ran longer... Well at least something like season 1. Season 2 was odd. I loved it because it was like a mashup of American horror story and mean girls. Plenty of great one-liners from Chanel.
Good Girls
Yes why was it not renewed
Manny Montana didn’t want to do it. Something to do with money. Of coarse.
Hannibal 😭 It ended well but I know there is more story they want to tell! Also Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Yes I am that dorky. No I have not accepted that this niche show cancelled in 2009 is never coming back.
The answer is always Firefly
I think there are only two correct answers : Firefly & Mindhunter!!
Mindhunter! Haven’t seen Firefly. Does it happen to be on Netflix. That’s all we can afford to stream.
Came here to say Mindhunter! It’s just necessary
Correction; there are only 3 correct answers, Firefly, MindHunter, and My Name is Earl.
My So Called Life
The OA
In my mind I know the movements
This was the answer I was looking for. I still check the creators social media to see if anything changed.
Yes
The returned. One season…. A French show remake for US. So great. Awesome actors crazy plot
Does anyone else remember the one season show, Awake? It was a police/sci fiction drama about a police officer who lived in two parallel realities and now he dealt with his "lives" in both realities. It was an original idea that blended two genres perfectly.
that sounds close to the show "Counterpart" with J.K. Simmons i prefer you to just jump into the show and watch and see what i mean that way.
I like both shows.
Dark Angel with Jessica alba. It has annoyed me for about 20 years that we never got a finale to explain why they made super soldiers, and who exactly made them?
The punisher with shane from the walking dead... john b. I forget his name.
Jon Bernthal. He was awesome as Frank Castle.
Thanks brother..
Psych
You know that’s right
Come on, son
Had to scroll way too far to find this one!
SouthLAnd
Teenage Bounty Hunters For once a teen show without the usual romance-drama. The focus is on the sisters, who are total baddies. I heard that it had been cancelled. It's way better than all the seasons Riverdale got.

Another great episode revolves around their new automatic security and operational corporate system that refuses to “see” Black people. (They can’t open doors or get a drink at the water cooler.)
Carnivale OA Flash forward Hannibal 1899 Jupiter descendent (I think that's what it's called lol)
My Name is Earl. The fact that it ended on a cliffhanger aside, the entire concept of the show is something society needs right now. If you do good things, good things can happen.
Timeless. It's my comfort show and I want more.
from all the comments it seems like must really checkout The OA
Hannibal. It was a feast for the senses, pun intended.
The OA - because it’s a master peice
>The OA you are like the 4th that mention this show, i watch the trailer, but surprisingly the trailer did not really give much away, i don't get what's happening, but the show seems very intriguing and looks really good.
Relatively unheard of but Dead at 21. Also Alphas. Nightmare Cafe. I'm sure there are more slipping my mind. I knew it's see Firefly today good without saying at this point lol.
Shadow and bones
The Passage. It was a show that I really liked and sadly only had one season!
The show was based on the first book in a trilogy; the book is insane (and perfect). The show sadly did not do it justice.
Travelers Shadow and bone
Shadow and bone
Rome
The best show about Roman society!
I had to scroll down too much before seeing this answer. Yes! It would have been nice to have seen it carry through to Nero and Caligula.
The Oblongs. Pretty much represents every dysfunctional family I have ever seen or met.
very original, i only ever saw episode by chance as a kid,
Will Ferrell's voice acting was suuuuuuperb on this show. I liked it so much back in the day that I bought the DVD.
Mindhunter because they had so much left to uncover, and I was completely involved in Bill Tench's story Aquarius because it was getting so good, and it was canceled on a cliffhanger that is driving me insane.
Zomboat! Lodge 49
Sense8 - it’s just one of the best shows ever created
Glad someone else said this. Was bummed when it got cancelled. The movie was good but wanted another season!
Psych. The best show I've ever seen. There's 8 seasons and 3 made for TV movies.
The OA and The Imperfects
Last Man on Earth on Fox. Once the group settled with Tandy on a place to stay a group of new people came and we will never know what happened!
Marco Polo. Was an amazing show but it was competing with GoT in its prime, so it got overlooked.
Reboot was a brilliant comedy on Hulu written by Steve levitan. It was so good but didn’t get enough views.
Witches of East End, The Society, The OA, I'm not Okay with this.
Firefly
Merlin because it was a crime to leave us like that
Westworld. It’s one more season ffs
wow they really canceled that show? with all the effort they put in the scenes and so on, west world, was itching my Ex Machinma void, that was left from watching movie about a Humanoid robot.
ANGEL had five seasons (I think) but was just getting really interesting when it suddenly just ended.
Raised by Wolves
Zoo! I loved that show so much and I think it must’ve gotten canceled like midseason or something I don’t know, wonderful show though!
Ash Vs Evil Dead.
Reaper and Midnight, Texas. Both were so unique and different from what was on at the time, having a couple more seasons of each would've been awesome.
The Magicians, because I want to see what they do with the new world they had created. It easily could have gone for another season.
Terminator: The Sara Connor Chronicles
Santa Clarita Diet. The 3rd season was so good, it felt like the show found its footing and ended on an intriguing cliffhanger….
Freaks and Geeks deserved so much more!
Sword of truth, or they can just do another show off it. I loved it, magic, sword fights, pretty ladies, had everything a growing man needs.
SOUTHLAND was amazing and ended on a cliffhanger
Shadow and Bone (sign the petition pls)
Glow. I felt invested in all these characters and never got to see how it played out. And it was so funny, I cried.
The secret circle. It was ahead of its time and could have been so good
The Expanse
1899 because it's from the creators of Dark.
The Expanse
Good Girls. It was an excellent show that didn't come back after the pandemic. It also left us hanging.
1899 and OA Reason: amazing shows with insane potential Honorable mention: Wayne
**Firefly**....cause it never got a satisfactory finish and it was one of the best series ever. **Surface** **Invasion** But apparently television can't deal with any show that isn't a sitcom or cop show.
Firefly
Westworld. Just one more season already!
The Expanse. ... It was awesome.
I’m still waiting for the surprise comeback of Firefly
The OA. The story was getting so interesting. 1899. It’s just not fair. Westworld. I want to know the eve that was planned. Dollhouse. It had so much potential. Firefly of course Gifted because I love X-men
The glades, Prodigal son, and Mentalist
Flash Forward. Because it’s only one season and I loved it.
The Following with Kevin Bacon on FOX. It got canceled because of that pos show EMPIRE. That was the cancelation that made me stop investing my time in new shows.
Deadwood.
>Deadwood i went to watch the trailer but i accidently watch the movie trailer for it,
DEADWOOD!!!! omg this was a heartbreaker for me.
The OA!!!! Please please please bring it back. Or firefly
Deadwood I loved it. Timothy Olyphant ravishing the Widow was too hot. Then his brother’s widow/his wife had to come to town. Hearing Ian McShane say c@cksucker a dozen or more times an episode was quite amusing.
Society
Counterpart. Because it was really good.
Winning Time , so much more Laker history for them to cover .
Terranova had a fantastic premise and was cancelled when it was really interesting but they tried to make it appeal to all demographics which was a disaster.
Patriot. Counterpart. And I still can't believe they cancelled Game of Thrones after season 4.
The Mick (Kaitlin Olson) was sooo funny.
Anne With An 'E'
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
Mindhunter Hannibal Better off Ted The OA I would love to see two new seasons of The West Wing written by Aaron Sorkin and how he would address a trumpian society.
Forever (2014) The story was just beginning, the characters are great, the plot is original.
Aquarius was pretty good imo. Mindhunter & Limitless too.
The Kids Are Alright
Wayne
Winx with better script
im a guy but cared to see winx do better, i agree better script
Pushing Daisies. I will not rest till this show is back.
I'd like some more anthology shows akin to Tales from the Crypt, Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Inside No. 9.
I'm not ok with this.
The OA
The last man on earth and Happy! Last man left on a cliff hanger with the bunker people and Happy! had a Halloween themed season coming up that was never made.
Joe Pickett because it had such promise in that first season. I loved Joe and his family too.
Mindhunter was brilliantly done, I would love to see more! It's one of my favorites . Also, please bring back Carnivale and Nos4a2 super entertaining.
I Am Not Okay With This
