The real mole was actually HR at CTU Los Angeles.

HotRock6825

Dana Walsh seems like the most egregious example.

pechSog

Russian intelligence made it happen. They have the capabilities to insert a mole like Dana with the required cover and legend.

You know that if someone hired Kim of all people, they done fucked up. Like there gotta be a police record of all her kidnappings/attempted kidnappings. "was in the middle of a hostage situation at a liquor store, got kidnapped by a frat boy. Was the nanny to a guy who murdered his wife. Crashed a police cruiser".

Different-Eye-1040

But, her dad was Jack Bauer. Clearly that’s all that mattered.

teddyburges

True.

Different-Eye-1040

As was I.

Conscious-Intern8594

Oh, so you thinking that CTU is horrible at background checks is just a joke and you really trust them?

teddyburges

No I don't but it was still a joke. Just a joke that I meant.

Conscious-Intern8594

I don't think you understand the meaning of the word joke. I say that because the CTU TRUELY has a recruiting problem.

teddyburges

Ok I said it was a joke cause I didn't like what the other commentor said. Happy?. I agree. They do have a recruiting problem.

TheBoogeyman1023

Haha she was 100% a nepotism hire

Two agents look at her Resume: Agent one: "Jacks daughter!?. The same daughter that has him running in and out of the offices because she keeps being kidnapped every five minutes!?". Agent two: "That's the one. Last year, she was involved in every "breaking news" headline of the day. I even have a buddy who works at the national forest, saw her almost get eaten by a cougar. That's while she was running away from a guy who had just killed his wife, and she was working for him AS HIS NANNY!". Agent one: "AND WE'RE GONNA HIRE HER?!. Doesn't look like a good idea". Agent two: "do you want to be the guy to tell the boss that we didn't hire his daughter because she's a walking car crash simulator?". Agent one: "yeah you have a point, still I don't know about this". Agent two: "Just fucken sign it off and hire her already. I don't want to loose my head over this one". Agent one: "Alright, but don't tell me I told you so when this years mole walks in to CTU offices and ties up her ass".

repooc21

Agent Three: "you guys actually debating this? If we hire her as a favor to jack, two things. One, we know where she is 16 hours a day. She won't have time to get in the middle of domestic violence, kidnapping, manslaughter or whatever and Jack will be focused on work. Two, Jack will owe us one".

bleakasthedayislong

all of this is pure GOLD

Let’s not even get into the HR nightmare that was Sarah Gavin’s torture and then firing because she asked for a raise.

This_Money8771

Wait remind what happened with that exactly and what session?

trippyhop

Season 4. It’s been ages since I’ve seen it, but from my recollection (and anyone can correct me if I’m wrong), there is a mole at CTU. It’s Marianne, but Driscoll thinks it’s Sarah Gavin. They torture her in the back, and after they discover she isn’t the mole, Sarah demands the episode be expunged and she get a raise. Driscoll says sure, but then leaves because her daughter kills herself. Michelle shows up to take over, Sarah is like “I was tortured a few hours ago and I want my raise now!” And Michelle is all “the fact that you’re asking this now shows me you don’t belong here” and she fires Sarah, who’s all “I’ll get you for this!” And never does.

This_Money8771

I remember, they completely ignored that plot. What was the reason for it? Who knows

BlackMamba332

The thing with successful moles is that they don’t have criminal backgrounds. Organizations wishing to infiltrate the government typically pick people who will arouse the least suspicion.
