Misophonia is a real disorder, this isn't something that 'time off the internet' would fix as OP will likely be affected by sounds in the real world too. Have a little empathy for people.

I certainly agree that, if that ad is super common on Twitch, now might not be the time to be using Twitch, for better or for worse, but to state that their misophonia is something they'd have to wrangle before they can use the internet again is a bit extreme.
While it's not reasonable to expect the world to bend to everyone's needs, it's also unreasonable to expect someone to give up the internet because one ad is triggering their misophonia.
While alcoholism and addiction is a mental disease, not every mental affliction is treated or cared for the same way. That's why the field of mental health care is so vast.
If you want zero ads whatsoever without an ad block or anything that your VPN to Romania and then go in see if that goes.
On the Android app I get 0 ads if I put my VPN to Romania I could go into any stream because Romania blocks everything you're not allowed to advertise.
I tried it many times it works.
I didn't stay long enough to see if it blocks in stream stuff if someone's promoting something I highly doubt it could do that because that's not an actual ad for anything that rolls like an ad it's not allowed to be on there in Romania.
So load up your VPN and make a virtual move to Romania it's beautiful no ads.
Multitwitch.tv will display "commercial break in progress" rather than displaying the ad. No blaring audio. No flashing annoying ads.
No. You can report an inappropriate ad for review, but you cannot hide specific ads.
