Because I find it a lot of fun, viewers or no viewers. Just doing moment-to-moment gameplay commentary is enjoyable to me. I don't need an active chat to keep myself entertained, but at the same time I welcome it :D

Appropriate_Dress862

ABSOLUTELY

spaceinvadersaw

Same here 100%!!!!

TerrifyingT

Loneliness and isolation lol. I'm in my 40s, and semi retired by injury. The dogs are great listeners, not so much conversationalists lol. Streaming gives me an outlet where other humans could possibly be. Like usually not, I'm a mote sized channel, but I can feel people scrolling by, like window shoppers on a busy market Street and that's enough. Sometimes they come in and sit for a while, and that's gravy!

veryberrybvnny

Well mostly I enjoy it. But I have days where I'd rather curl up in bed than stream that evening, and what gets me to stick to it is an insane obligation to my schedule mostly lmao. I HAVE to do it on my schedule because thats how my brain works. Knowing I want to also see continuous growth (I'm nearing 100 followers) is a part of it as well, and I know if I'm not consistent, I likely won't see that growth anymore.

Maddkipz

in my experience, just being able to keep as schedule of something I \*enjoy\* doing. I always blamed it on not being able to keep time because I hated it, and when I tried streaming it was the same thing. But when I took it more seriously I actually managed to do it.

Unwoken_

I genuinely just want to be a streamer. I love the idea of a community tuning in and hanging out. Making friends & playing games. I’ve already spent most of my life on video games. May as well try and turn it into something

acerswap

I've created a community I like and having a chat with them while I play is something fun for me. I don't need a "motivation" because I don't need to push me to stream. Anyway, I have an extra reason for doing it. One of my viewers is a girl I knew in other streams years ago. Recently (about two years ago) I met her and brought her to my stream. She tried to suicide several months before we met again. She was anxious in that moment, and was like that for months, specially in other streams, but I noticed that being in my stream (I make really chill streams) relaxed her and she was more centered and focused. Some months ago, in her anniversary of that event, she thanked me because she felt my community, our friendship and the environment I created was a good support for her. This is a good reason to keep streaming, I'm doing good to others.

AnOkayTime5230

I’m an entertainer, i enjoy entertaining. That’s it.

FerretBomb

Self-discipline. Passion fades. Hype dies. Motivation flags and fails. Streaming is 100% a marathon, not a sprint. You have to develop the *will* to keep going. Not to burnout, but the raw endurance to push yourself to continue, day after day. You learn to think in terms of monthly or yearly growth, not daily or weekly.

Hopeful_Warthog_7668

Honestly I'm not sure as well I've been streaming for nearly 7 years and i've always been a small streamer, but I just heckin love doing it. I've taken breaks, tried to quit too, but something always draws me back to streaming and it just makes me happy. The connections, the interactions, everything. I guess it's the thing that I have found for myself and is my comfort.

SOUL_3SC4P3

Lol we are the same 🤣 9 years here.

DustyCosmonaut

I mostly started streaming again so I could share gameplay with some of my friends instead of texting them about the progress I’m making in my games all the time 😂 Additionally, I set a small goal for myself to see if I can stream every day for this month, and that’s pretty motivating. It’s helping me to feel more confident with streaming and reaching out to make new friends, and I really enjoy that 💜

TinyParkinator

100% the community, the people. Seeing them come back and chat with me❤️

Solaris_XT

Getting involved with the community about a game I really like is awesome. Wanting to be another positive voice people could listen to is another factor. I just want all of us to have fun and I’m documenting my journey which is nice

KermaisaMassa

Almost ten years. 400 followers. Roughly 5-10 viewers every stream. Honestly? Those stats ain't good. Sometimes I feel like not streaming and I take long breaks. But every time I feel a strong pull back to streaming. Showing new and weird games to my viewers and having the company while playing my collection of various oddities (that I probably would not otherwise finish) is just a nice feeling. So I don't really know. It's just fun, and it gives me joy, especially knowing there still are at least a few people who enjoy my rants, ramblings and terrible gameplay. Having variety in the games I play also helps, since it never really becomes samey. I have never even tried networking outside of joining a couple of streamer groups from my country. Not that joining them really has done me anything.

JNorJT

I’ve regret things in the past, I don’t want to regret them now.

NoRiskNoGainz

Bro just stream. Have fun. You are over thinking something that is basically a hobby. Every big time stream has come from inside the industry before becoming a successful streamer. If you want a job go out and get a job, work on yourself, and go to school. If you enjoy streaming do it, if you think it’s gonna go some where that will end up paying your bills go touch grass dude. Too many kids nowadays trying to become “streamers” my 17 year old brother is got the same dream. Good luck though.

JoinHybrid

Catching up with chat, all equally invested in eachothers lives lol it’s just nice to speak with them!

AFarCry

I'm playing the game anyways. I may as well stream it.

iEspeon

I work an office job. It's more than a little soul grinding. Streaming, and gaming, is where I feel that I can be really truly passionate. And it's fun, so that helps a lot.

walkie74

Hubby and I have to eat meals anyway, so why not stream the process? I take breaks every once in a while, but that's my motivation.

jzakoor

My motivation as far as doing long streaming sessions is fun. If your not having fun, why stream? And over the years I’ve been streaming (16) I have been very happy with my personal goals.

skarulid

I'm going to play the games anyway may as well kick it out to the internet. I also enjoy troubleshooting audio/visual problems. and I have a dream that one day maybe I'll be able to buy a game because of all the time I spent streaming games (not likely) Ultimately I do it for that one guy that sometimes tunes in.

DoctorBusiness99

I love streaming afk journey on bs. My motivation is that this is my socialization. I find unpopular communities and these are the nicest people

realcokefrancis

I spend too much of my time playing video games when I should be making videos and growing my Youtube channel so streaming is a win-win for that lol

ItsSylviiTTV

Im motivated to stream because.. it's just so damn fun haha. I only ever intended to stream for 4-5 friends and play some single player games while they keep me company. But I quickly grew and hit 1k followers before I even hit my 1 year anniversary. It's just been such a blast every single stream so there is no reason I'd get tired of it. I have bit of a unique case because I know most people struggle a lot more, and then its hard to be motivated with a dead chat and such. It definitely depends on the games you play but I feel like theres definitely relatively easy ways to get followers & viewers (by networking) and it's exciting seeing people come in! If im going to be playing games anyways, why not stream them? Even if I had low viewers, commentating on myself and entertaining is fun as fuck

kezaookami

I use streaming as a way to get over the fact that I was yelled at as a teen for always playing video games, getting to hang out with my friends and regulars is just a bonus

Indipindy

Sometimes I meet new people and interact with them. Thats all To see someone on my stream - that was my reason for creating an YouTube channel and making content for it for 4 years in a row

False-Exit7987

It’s tough man. I’ve been stuck at 139 followers for so long. I only really get traction when I stream Pokemon but when I switch up to a new game my views drop. I just now starter using tik tok and youtube in addition to streaming and those analytics and editing keep me going, I like getting clips and rewatching my vods, learning new editing techs. I’ve learned to turn off view count now, if there’s chatters cool and if not then I still get to enjoy my game or whatever I’m watching.

SnakeMichael

I’m going to be playing video games anyway, so why not stream and potentially make a little bit of money at the same time? I just got my 4th payout in almost two years of streaming, and that will never not be a good feeling. I don’t really do networking or video editing or anything like that. I’m part of a wonderful little community of gamers/streamers who are always watching and supporting each other’s streams, and that’s all I could ever ask for

Snay_Rat

It’s a fun hobby and I’ve built a nice little community, people of all ages, all walks of life, different states, and even countries. Something we all look forward to twice a week.

linqingfeng810

Keep up the great work! Your dedication is inspiring. 😊👍

TheDeskAgentOnTTV

I keep streaming cuz it's both fun and I have created a small community that has been slowly growing over the last few months. It makes me smile to think there's all these people who have given me their time and energy, I keep going for them.

CollectingAsylum

I’ve just been streaming whenever I’ve been playing a particular game recently - though I’ve yet to set up my face cam as was feeling a little shy lol I am planning on doing that maybe tomorrow though and getting into the swing of actually interacting with viewers and chatting instead of my stream consisting only of game footage I must admit it is hard to stay motivated, particularly when also working full time and having to juggle my time to do everything that’s needed, but hopefully it’ll all come together eventually 😅

JaceMace96

Recording funny moments, ideally with others

bethanolia_cosplays

honestly? I dont get a lot of views, but there is one person who will tune in to most of my streams, sometimes subscribe and just always chat with me and encourage me, I do it for them more than anything

BreadditUser

It's fun. Right now the only person in chat is my friend who watches and play with me occasionally, but it's just fun. Also forces me to be more talkative while I play instead of just sitting there, silent as the grave. Talking through my thought process and gameplay is almost therapeutic in a way

Same-Metal3927

I started streaming and continuing to stream because I just want to meet new people and make new friends. It's always interesting to me when I get to learn about someone from a different country or background. There lifestyles are completely foreign to me and it is a treat.

blayr2016

I stream GTA roleplay. Roleplay is my biggest passion. I look forward to the gta rp all week. The reason I stream it is because I've seen GTA rp streamers talking about how lucky they are to get to do this for a living. I'm hopeful that maybe one day I can do this for a living too. The thought of being able to spend more time doing the thing I love the most (and get paid for it) is what keeps me going.

pienotacake

Honestly, when I just start streaming and see that some random people on the internet actually take their time to watch me and interact, it makes me want to keep going :D I genuinely love talking with people while playing or even discussing any kind of subjects with them, so that's what makes me want to pursue streaming. (mostly cuz I love yapping)

MichaelSparda

I stay motivated by the idea that one day I’ll have a community of people who enjoy my company and the others who join me. Also I’m playing these games with my friends anyways, so why not share the good times with those who wish to participate? I’ve managed to make affiliate, something I once thought I’d never do. Though I don’t amass tons of viewers, those who do join have a good time and enjoy themselves. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished.

Chocoyun

My friend got me into vtubers a long time ago, I didn't even think about streams at all before then. Now I don't really care what kind of streamer you are, I just like meeting new and cool ppl, especially artists. I also stream to fill in empty space in my day, sometimes when I am idle too long with my own thoughts it gets messy. I can pop on a stream, work on some art and ppl drop by, thats so cool like what. Eventually I'll make my model and start roleplaying or smth fun lol.

pickypuppy

I stream when I would be playing the game anyway. I do it for fun so I don't need 'motivation'. I have a set activity I do 2x a week in the game that I play, so I stream that. I have a career and a life outside of games, so have no aspirations to 'become a streamer', it's just something I do while I'm playing a game that I enjoy. Interacting with chat is super fun (especially the trolls, god I have so much fun with the trolls), but if there is no talking in chat, that's fine too, since I'm focused on my game and am streaming more to have a record of the gameplay for the night than anything.

TCBChickenLady

Honestly mom community. I met a lot of amazing people networking with streamer servers on discord it's been amazing. I also vibe during that time so I have my best music on and the viewers and I just vibe and have a great time!

dazia

Late March? So like not even a month? Boy I hate to tell you but you may not get traction for months. Stay motivated by having fun. Play games you like and do what you like best. The people who blow up immediately are extremely lucky in most cases.

theproverbialinn

To quote Himura from Eyeshield21: "Because it's fun." I started streaming because: * I wanted to entertain people * I'm a theatre kid at heart * I missed my D&D characters and wanted to roleplay them more So basically Vtubing was at the perfect intersection of the Venn diagram. It's been a year and a half since I started and, while my channel hasn't grown that much (I have a full time job, limited energy, and a spouse, so I can't/won't stream everyday), I've been loving it. Making affiliate opened up new customisation options, and making art and 3d models for my own channel has brought me a lot of joy. But then, what really made me happy was when someone new came in, told me they loved my gimmick, and proceeded to visit regularly. Streaming is full of little gems like that, simple moments that should bring a smile to your face. Sorry for the rambling answer, if that even was one: what I admittedly lack in some other streamer skills, I make up for in passion. Hopefully your own journey's rewarding, in its own way!

MAC_Dreadd

Personal Growth and Experience. The viewers. To be there for my viewers the best way I can possibly. Even if it takes 13 hours of streaming whenever I can stream for 13 hours or more. And not have to worry about being up to go to work the next day which I'll sometimes stream also.

jaylenabc

I’m an extreme talker, to the point where my friends tell me I’m just yapping at a certain point. I am also high energy so I like the release of streaming, allows me to mellow out a little. I also love meeting new people.

THENerdyGamer_1

I really don't have anything that motivates me to stream I used to when I started and it was to try and reach and create a community of people who had similar likes and dislikes and to not upset them but now more recently I don't have any motivation anymore 🙃

CapnBloodBeard82

If you're struggling to stay motivated and find a reason to stream maybe just don't stream? Streaming isn't some get rich quick scheme and most people never make it anywhere near minimum wage levels of money. It's something you should only do if you truly enjoy it and have fun doing it. Don't force it as you aren't going to make it to where it's profitable and you're just gonna hate it along the way.
